Answer: They do not float on the surface, but they have enough bouancy to require tiny split shot to carry them down to the desired depth for feeding fish. So the most adequate answer I have for the question of ‘do they float’ is...almost.

Answer: This could be due to the amount of time it takes to restock a product and have it ready for delivery once it's ordered from a supplier.

Do they need to be stored in the refrigerator? How long are the imitation eggs good for once the jar is opened?

Answer: No they don’t need refrigeration. They can last years after opening

Does it work for catfish?

Answer: You know catfish bite anything. I have caught catfish on it, bass seem to like it too.

Answer: if you want to catch fish use something else but not this product. I tried it and caught nothing, switched over to live worms and caught a lot of catfish so to answer your question. NO IT DOES NOT PRODUCE

Are they water beads

Answer: They're not water beads, it's almost like some gel type ball. They're slippery and can be hard to hold when baiting hook. Once they're put in the water they tend to swell a little. I usually take 2-5 out of the jar and let them sit in the sun a little. they become a little sticky which helps to hold on too. Don't leave them out too long, they'll shrink,

Answer: Yes and they work great as spawn sacks.

Answer: I'm sure you could, but I'm not sure you'd want to. In my estimation they don't look like, behave like, or smell like any salmon eggs I've ever used. They where unsuccessful in catching trout in some of the most productive waters I've ever fished. Total disappointment. I returned mine. If private-lake trout in Colorado reject them, so do I.

If you're looking for a substitute for real salmon eggs that wont fall off your hook, here it is. These are high quality imitation eggs. They have a strong smell, are highly visible under water, and are strong enough to stay on your hook. Something I learned after using them is they will swell up after some time in the water and grow much larger. This is something to keep in mind if you're fishing for smaller sized fish. Knowing this, you can either change the bait more frequently or use a single egg instead of multiple eggs.

Thought I'd give these Fire balls a try and I'm glad I did. I've caught a lot of Crappie using this bait. Found that it works best when fished about 6ft plus, below the bobber. Nearly went through entire jar on first outing whole using it.

I bought these with the idea to tip jigs for crappie. No matter how gently I rigged the baits and cast, they call came off within two casts or so. Forget throwing to weed lines. The minute a bait touches weeds, it comes right off.

Worse yet, after a month and a half, the smell is not nearly as strong. These arrived and did smell strongly of garlic. After a month and a half of being sealed, they barely smell like garlic anymore.

And how well do they catch fish? Not at all. Not even a nibble or a bump on these baits.

These are my favorite “nibs” to use for crappie. I use them to “tip” my crappie jig hooks. I’ve used two identical jig pole setups side by side one tipped one without for about an hour. They make a difference. Wouldn’t recommend them as a standalone bait but they are great for tipping.

These artificial ones don't work at all! I love Pautzke's real salmon eggs. They work great. But the company either decided to be greedy or creative, and it miserably failed.

I like using this product because they last long, stay on the hook and the fish seems to like it as well. What I don't like about the product is that it gets sticky which makes it hard to put on the hook because it sticks to your hand.
