Questions about BlueStraw Fishing Landing Net Folding Stainless Steel Fish Carp Landing Net with Extending Non-Slip Pole Handle, Fish Shrimp Bird Butterfly Catching Gear
Q:
Would this net catch minnows or are the holes too big? Thanks!
Answer: Yes I think so, I can't honestly remember because ours broke the first weekend we tried it last year. My daughter, 9, used it to try to catch a frog and it snapped in half. An adult being careful with it would probably be fine, but for an excited kid going fishing, no.
Answer: Yes, this would be perfect for minnows!
Q:
how do i cancel recent orders?
Answer: Sure
Q:
How many feet
Answer: Math 78.7"/12" = 6.56 feet
Q:
Can this be used for hooligan fishing?
Answer: It would probably be good for tat just not a large heavy fish. I use it for crabbing. Its nice how it folds up and telescopes out.
Q:
would this work for just catching crabs?
Answer: Net mesh is too fine! It wouldn’t last long
Answer: Yes it would be good
Q:
How long is the pole?
Answer: This fishing landing net is extendable for 145cm/57in
Answer: 16" is the shortest it gets, and then it telescopes out to 54"
Q:
How do you put it together? Mine came without a screw and a nut.
Answer: Mine came in hinged and the screw/bolt on one end. Open it up to form round hoop, then careful thread the bolt to other end (will form complete ring), then screw the threaded bolt to end of net shaft to attach together.
Q:
what kind of fish net can I buy for landing fish & dipping shrimps?
Answer: None, my son tried to catch a minnow and the arm snapped off right away.
Product reviews of BlueStraw Fishing Landing Net Folding Stainless Steel Fish Carp Landing Net with Extending Non-Slip Pole Handle, Fish Shrimp Bird Butterfly Catching Gear
Donald W Byars : 1 start inacurate
1 start applied by accident--this is a 5 star product.
BingBangBow : Disaster, avoid
Horrible:
1. The net area/piece/head keeps sliding to one side, you'll need locktite to keep it still. The pole was not strong, snapped after a day. Would have been better to ship a sturdy steel pole that screws together with locknuts.
2. HORROR: the handle is made with a toxic chemical that rubs and gasses off called a pthalate. It's a fire retardant that Chinese use and should be banned. Why use it for a thin handle? It makes me want to puke to smell it.
The head is good though.
leagle : Nice product
Works great, ordered for my grandson and he loves it
lysergicengel : Water was too rough for it
I just got the chance to take this thing out and use it to catch some minnows, but the moment it hit the water the shaft bent. I could just imagine what would happen if I was trying to bring a fish in. Net is really nice and I may just end up tying it to a stick or something. May work for a little kid catching bugs, just be careful of a strong breeze though.
Wayne B. : Sleek good looking net isa bit flimsy
The netting is nylon about right for insects but will proudly rip when used ifor aquatic use. The frame is sturdy but the pole is not stiff enough to catch wild minnows or fish , wish they used a thicker material. I’m thinking I will replace with a wooden pole when it breaks ( the bolt in net frame will come in handy) It’s hard to find a strong net to catch wild creatures this one is better than most. So far I like it and intend to use it with cation.
customer in VA : good idea but not well built, already broke and design problems
Got it for crabbing and maybe occasionally landing smaller fish. I liked how long it was and its net quality (small openings) but that's about it. Problems:
1. the telescoping pole does not lock in. that means the net circle rotates. when you catch a crab or land a fish it may turn sideways (rotate) and you can loose your catch. I solved this problem by extending the pole to the length i wanted and then locking the joints with bolt adhesive (automotive). You could also use metal hose clamps to secure. But in both cases, you loose the foldability function.
2. the metal pole is thin and when i wanted to get a huge crab, it bent a little and then it broke off. I plan to get a 1/2 galvanized tube and replace the pole... :(
I would not buy it. I cant return because i bought this in advance of our crabbing trip and the return window expired. well... it was good for about 20 crabs.... If i needed to buy a net again, i would get a non-telescoping pole to avoid problems. I gave 2 stars because of the net and the overall idea. but i would not recommend it.
SUSAN L Hollifield : Not for long term use.
The net oval does not tighten up and the netting is not durable.
tim guthrie : very good product
light weight and collapsable. Great for my purpose of catching chickens!
Bernard Hsiao : Fell apart after 5 uses.
Didn't last at all. After scooping up about 5 fish the net ripped and the thin hollow metal tubing around the perimeter twisted and sheared. Not durable.
Dee : Very satisfied customer
Exactly what I wanted and the service was outstanding.
Samantha : Net detaches easily, lost.
I would love to post a picture, however we used it the day it arrived while crabbing and the net needs to be constant tightened. So without noticing it fell right off into the ocean and it wasn’t recovered. It works and durable just wish it didn’t fall off on the first day using it.
Don : Handle very weak broke on first use.
Tried to catch minnows but the handle broke. Not for catching live fish. You could probably scoop up dead very small fish.
Amanda Lee : Compact net
We got this for our vacation and overall it is good. I like how it can easily disassemble and the net portion folds up to be smaller. That combined with the telescope handle makes it much easier to transport. The netting itself is also very good quality. The only downfall is the telescoping handle makes it so it sometimes doesn’t hold at the length you set it. So the handle is a plus for transporting but not the best for actual use. Overall, still a good net.
Michele Burney : Shrimp Net
The handle is not long enough to catch shrimp from a boat. It is designed for catching shrimp out of an aquarium or something.... I wanted a shrimp net I can shrimp out of a boat with.
SUSAN L Hollifield : Not for long term use.
The net oval does not tighten up and the netting is not durable.

jose : Good product for price
I love the length when extended or collapsed. With the net was deeper
Nency : Sucks!!
It’s long for no reason u can’t even get one crab had it bends back n broke
JT00 : Broke first time we used it
The first time my son used this net to land a fish (small guppy), the metal hand snapped completely in half and cut his hand. Useless. Returning for a refund. Don't waste your time!
Carla Ruiz : Bien para su presio pero no como esperaba
Todo me vino bien pero el palito no se mantiene fijo da mucha buelta queda flojo eso no me gusta
Abraham Ross : Five Stars
Good for metals the pole is too thin
Datruf : Nice
Nice design and great value. Compact and sturdy. I recommend for casual outings. This is not a bass tournament grade or size net but it is great for trout and panfish.
Michael B. Combs : Net frame corrodes rapidly
This review is of the identical predecessor to this net I bought about two years ago, but since the nets are identical this review will apply. I use these nets daily to recover balls my dog drops in the ocean when we play fetch on the beach. The telescoping handle is very useful for that purpose and the small net area is a perfect size for this. I estimate that I save the cost of the net in a month based on the value of balls not lost. Unfortunately the two hinges on the first net frame corroded away rapidly. I was able to repair them with surgical tubing, and then used stiff wire to repair the disintegrating attachment to the telescoping handle. These repairs extended the life of the net almost one year.

George Lincoln : Eas to handle.
I use it for crabbing and catching crawfish.
Bob : I like the long extending pole
I like the long extending pole, and the net is big enough for a fish 10 lbs or more. I already got 7 huge salmons with this net so far. Easy to clean and no rust so far. The only down side is the pole will twist. It's a good buy.
K : Easy to assemble, breaks down into smaller pieces, decent quality net.
Easy to assemble, breaks down into smaller pieces, decent quality net. For the price, you cant beat it. I'm using it to catch minnows in the creek, I don't know how it would handle a larger fish.

Allisa : Not worth the $
Not sturdy. This is for children or something but not for adults. Snapped in half and cut my arm. Would not recommend.
entropyGain : Broke almost instantly
It was fun scooping up minnows under the fishing lights at night. but it only lasted one night! Just the pressure of the water snapped the cheap metal handle. Waste of money
Sharon Ivanauskas : Long, but does not stay screwed tight!
I used this for going crabbing with my 2 kids. Every time we would use the net to try to scoop a crab the net itself would loosen up a bit & we had to tighten it. Then one time went to scoop a crab up, went under the crab, crab didn't even drop in & the net fell off! Luckily it caught on the line, so I had to carefully pull the line up & reach down to grab the net before I lost it!!!
I gave it 2 stars as it would be a decent net if it would stay tightened!! But right now, it is useless, as the net is no doubt going to come off again.
Not going to be crabbing now as it is getting cold. When we do go back out I plan to just super glue it or use electric tape on it. But really shouldn't have to do that.
