Questions about BlueStraw Fishing Landing Net Folding Stainless Steel Fish Carp Landing Net with Extending Non-Slip Pole Handle, Fish Shrimp Bird Butterfly Catching Gear
Q:
Would this net catch minnows or are the holes too big? Thanks!
Answer: Yes I think so, I can't honestly remember because ours broke the first weekend we tried it last year. My daughter, 9, used it to try to catch a frog and it snapped in half. An adult being careful with it would probably be fine, but for an excited kid going fishing, no.
Answer: Yes, this would be perfect for minnows!
Q:
how do i cancel recent orders?
Answer: Sure
Q:
How many feet
Answer: Math 78.7"/12" = 6.56 feet
Q:
Can this be used for hooligan fishing?
Answer: It would probably be good for tat just not a large heavy fish. I use it for crabbing. Its nice how it folds up and telescopes out.
Q:
would this work for just catching crabs?
Answer: Net mesh is too fine! It wouldn’t last long
Answer: Yes it would be good
Q:
How long is the pole?
Answer: This fishing landing net is extendable for 145cm/57in
Answer: 16" is the shortest it gets, and then it telescopes out to 54"
Q:
How do you put it together? Mine came without a screw and a nut.
Answer: Mine came in hinged and the screw/bolt on one end. Open it up to form round hoop, then careful thread the bolt to other end (will form complete ring), then screw the threaded bolt to end of net shaft to attach together.
Q:
what kind of fish net can I buy for landing fish & dipping shrimps?
Answer: None, my son tried to catch a minnow and the arm snapped off right away.
Product reviews of BlueStraw Fishing Landing Net Folding Stainless Steel Fish Carp Landing Net with Extending Non-Slip Pole Handle, Fish Shrimp Bird Butterfly Catching Gear
tim guthrie : very good product
light weight and collapsable. Great for my purpose of catching chickens!
Michael Hoda : Great net
Great for crabbing
JT00 : Broke first time we used it
The first time my son used this net to land a fish (small guppy), the metal hand snapped completely in half and cut his hand. Useless. Returning for a refund. Don't waste your time!
JESSICA : Handy
Great for fishing. I had no problems with it coming apart. Just tighten thoroughly.
ChinaBAMA : Cheap and durable... great for crabbing
Cheap and durable... great product to use for crabbing. It’s a good way to save your more expansive nets when using it for crabbing. It’s compact as everything can be take apart if space is an issue. The net is pretty strong and durable even handling crabs.
tim guthrie : very good product
light weight and collapsable. Great for my purpose of catching chickens!
Abraham Ross : Five Stars
Good for metals the pole is too thin
Rhonda silva : I use for catching minnows ????
Love this bet we catch minnows with it all the time for our pond ....
Christy McGrath : Wouldnt recommend
Very weak. Doesn't hold extension firm when wet. Handle broke after 1 week of use. Used for crabs and minnows.
Becky : Missing half of product
My order was not complete. I only got half of the net. Not sure where the other half went missing but I was left with just the net and no handle. Not satisfied.
TJB : Broke First Use
Used this net to crab with. Not even as strenuous as landing a fish and the handle snapped even without full extension. The metal of the handle is thin and cheap.
Tammy Kegler : Not durable
Very nice to use scalloping cause I can’t dive under due to my sinuses, but bent due to the current first time out. Great net and length but not sturdy and durable
Brad Michael Moore : I Could Work in a Zoo Now - Almost! [Pic for Title: I Live on a Small Farm!]
I live on a farm - I have screened-in porches - some animals have torn holes in some screens, and birds get IN - and then they just can't see the original hole to make their way back out - soon flying into the screen at some other points! I have never injured a single animal I have caught! I have also used this new net to capture a floundering 13" Catfish, & move him from an evaporating pond - to another deeper pond, & saved his life. I have caught birds on my porch from Hummingbirds, up to a Peregrine Falcon - all safely released - I just wait for them to tire first - unless I fear they will injure themselves. I have also caught mice, mouses, & rabbits that my cat catches, and brings into the house to play with... This net is the perfect size for the captures I have used it for - it has yet to tear - although - getting the catfish out was a bugger! Because of his sharp fins - I had to get into the 2nd pond, and submerge the fish & net - before he figured his own way out. That did cause some stretching of some holes in the net - but not enough to keep me from catching what I usually catch - birds and very small mammals!
Mudskipper : Not up to the task of catching bait. Better as a butterfly net or pool scoop.
This net would be better used for catching butterflies, landing the smallest of hooked fish (under a few pounds) or other such “light duty” work. It’s simply not sturdy enough to meet the structural demands of heavier work, such as being forced through the water quickly to scoop minnows, or land hooked fish weighing more that a couple pounds. Also, there’s nothing around the rim of the net to protect the net material from abrasion and tearing when it comes in contact with the bottom, rocks, pilings, or other hard objects. Further, the collapsing handle has no means of “locking”, so the net can actually “spin” around, almost like a weathervane, to the path of least resistance. When you try to pull it through the water rapidly to net fast-swimming minnows, the net will twist sideways, no matter how you hold it, and the mouth of the net will miss the fish entirely.
It’s a good idea, but very poorly excecuted.
Still, used within its limitations, it’s a good value for a butterfly net, pool scoop, or other type of light duty net.
Amazon Customer : Better than expected
It is actually better than I thought it would be, give price.
L. A. R. : Just what I was looking for in a fish net
Good quality and price is reasonable. The handle is adjustable so you can lengthen or shorten the handle. The net is a good size for the larger fish in my fish tank.
Family shopper : Great bait catcher
Great bait catcher.
Amanda Lee : Compact net
We got this for our vacation and overall it is good. I like how it can easily disassemble and the net portion folds up to be smaller. That combined with the telescope handle makes it much easier to transport. The netting itself is also very good quality. The only downfall is the telescoping handle makes it so it sometimes doesn’t hold at the length you set it. So the handle is a plus for transporting but not the best for actual use. Overall, still a good net.
Tammy Kegler : Not durable
Very nice to use scalloping cause I can’t dive under due to my sinuses, but bent due to the current first time out. Great net and length but not sturdy and durable
Michele Burney : Shrimp Net
The handle is not long enough to catch shrimp from a boat. It is designed for catching shrimp out of an aquarium or something.... I wanted a shrimp net I can shrimp out of a boat with.
Earl5705 : Very flimsy
Bought it for our grandson, 5 yrs old, it broke within the first 20 minutes of use.
Sophanha Tor : Thin aluminum!
Thin aluminum....brake too easy.
Family shopper : Great bait catcher
Great bait catcher.
tim guthrie : very good product
light weight and collapsable. Great for my purpose of catching chickens!
Shay : Great deal!
Worked great for crabbing!

I keep it on the boat for many uses.
JESSICA : Handy
Great for fishing. I had no problems with it coming apart. Just tighten thoroughly.
stellahaus : Very flimsy
The pole is very thin and bend easily.
Allisa : Not worth the $
Not sturdy. This is for children or something but not for adults. Snapped in half and cut my arm. Would not recommend.
SUSAN L Hollifield : Not for long term use.
The net oval does not tighten up and the netting is not durable.
Don : Handle very weak broke on first use.
Tried to catch minnows but the handle broke. Not for catching live fish. You could probably scoop up dead very small fish.
TJB : Broke First Use
Used this net to crab with. Not even as strenuous as landing a fish and the handle snapped even without full extension. The metal of the handle is thin and cheap.
L. A. R. : Just what I was looking for in a fish net
