I have not go to test the drag out yet, but this is a really nice reel for $39.00. I have several that cost 3 times as much and don't cast any better.

This is my 2nd Piscifun baitcast reel I have purchased. Very smooth cast, these reels have performed as well as my more expensive reels. I have not had any issues with either reel, they are light and allow me to fish all day, I can't wait to try one of their fly reels.

It is winter here and I have not had the chance to use either of the two mates I purchased this winter but I can tell you I purchased a Piscifun reel last season and it works and preforms as well as reels I have costing well over $200.00. I use my reels as much in one season as a lot of people do in their lifetime and the only thing I had to do to these reels is oil them.

I bought a Shimano rod and reel combo back in 1983 and I am still using it today. I bought this one to teach my wife to bait cast instead of using one of the Zebco low end reels on a good Garcia rod. She has the hang of it now, and I tried it myself. It is a good reel for the price and, once you have it adjusted, it will cast smoothly with no bird nests (my wife could have started raising wrens when she first began using this reel, but once she got the hang of it she is almost semi-pro!) I would not suggest that anyone get this reel as their primary bait casting reel if you fish A LOT, but if you only go once in a while it would serve you well.
