product description
To maximize success on trophy bass, stripers, musky, salmon and a host of inshore species, it takes strength, line capacity and a powerful drag system. Anglers will receive it all in the Citrix 350. The Citrix 350 holds a line capacity of 230 yards of 14-pounds. For comparison current entries in the market hold just 190-yards of 14-pound. Maximizing the opportunity provided by substantial line capacity is a Carbonite and stainless drag system that outputs 25-pounds of maximum drag. Again, current entries in the market output just 15 and 22 pounds. The main gear and pinion gear in reel is Dura Brass for exceptional smoothness while retaining the stainless steel spool shaft. The Citrix's main gear, pinion gear and drive shaft are constructed from stainless steel for incredible strength. Citrix's frame, spool and handle side plate's are all aluminum for additional strength and long term alignment of internal parts.

Q:
Is this a lefty like stated above and what's the ib on the line it can hold want a reel can run about 150-170 yards of 40 ib braid for musky
Q:
How much of 20lb braid can it hold?
Answer: The 350 will hold 230 yds of 50lb braid. If you were to go with 20 lb braid , you will get closer to 300 yards on the 350 size.
Answer: On the reel it reads “230 yards of 14#.” I’m assuming that’s mono line. Braid has a much smaller diameter, so I would say the reel would hold 225-250 yards of 20# braid, maybe more. Myself? I use 65# braid on my reels and I put on about 200 yards. Regardless, I highly recommend this reel. The drag and retrieve are the best I’ve used. I’ve caught salmon up to 30# and this reel is a beast!
Answer: Not sure , I have 150 yds of 65ld on mine
Answer: 150yd

Answer: yes it does with all the information you need
Answer: yes it did it was brand new
Q:

Answer: Yes it has a level wind. This is a very nice reel.
Answer: Yes, awesome reel
Q:
Does this reel have a bait clicker for trolling?
Answer: Yes it has a bait clicker for trolling but there are better reels out there than this for that technique. Check out Penn reels for amazing trolling reels.
Answer: Yes it does.
Q:
Does this reel actually have a clicker that would work for catfishing
Answer: This reel does have a clicker, it should work for Catfish.
Answer: Yes it has a clicker
Q:
What’s the best size mono line i can put in here?
Answer: It depends on what you are targeting and the application you are using. You can use 15-30lb mono with no issues depending on how much line capacity you are looking for. I use straight 20lb mono on my reel for inshore fishing in Southern california for calico , sandbass and yellowtail . My other reel is filled with 50lb braid , i just use a 3-5ft of 25-40 # floro leader
Answer: Specs say 230 yards of 14 lb mono. But have about the same yardage but in 30 lb braid, been running it like that for 2 years now and it works great.
Answer: I would say 20lbs and if you wanted to use heavier I would use braid.
Q:
Is this left-handed reel?
Answer: The model shown is a right handed reel. The left hand model would be CI-354LXa and CI-364LXa
Answer: Hello, Thanks for your inquiry. This model is a RH reel. Thanks for your interest & have a wonderful day!
Q:
Could I use 100 lb braid for musky on this?
Answer: Yeah, im using 65 lb on mine
Answer: as long as you set the drag properly, I don't see why not. I use this for bass and the occasional northern pike.
Answer: Absolutely, it will work.
Q:
How do you upen the side of the reel? Ive tried but am afraid to force it to much because i don't want to break it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Answer: You have to back the thumbscrew that is on the handle side of the reel. Once that silver screw is backed out twist the side plate clockwise about a quarter of an inch and you will be able to remove it.
Answer: Theres a silver screw/ knob above the handle. Unscrew that and it should come off
Q:
Do you guys have it for right hand?
Q:
Is this the Ci-364LXa model?
Answer: Yes, that's the one.
Q:
hows the casting on it even with the levelwind?

Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I like it a lot, I bought this as a catfish reel and it cast perfect, smooth drag and nice clicker noise. Highly recommend
Answer: Very smooth, easy to cast and control with different weights
Q:
What type/brand of braid should i go with. Fishing So Cal for Dorado, yellows and possible blue fin. I need.a min of 50lb test
Answer: A lot of people around here use 832 ghost braid. Not sure if it will work in your situation tho. Is it salt water mainly and will salt water effect or weaken some braids? Not sure
Q:
Is the Ci-364 plxa good for saltwater?
Answer: It can be used in saltwater. Make sure to rinse the reel with freshwater after using it in saltwater.
Answer: No get a Penn saltwater spinning reel!!!
Answer: I wouldn’t use mine in saltwater due to corrosion potential
Answer: yes, I use it for bottom fishing for scup .sea bass, and tautog.
Q:
Is the ci-364pa a right hand casting reels?
Answer: Yes. The p in the name stands for power for the type of handle. With Okuma the left handed reels will usually have an L somewhere in the item name.
Answer: You can get either right or left hand retrieve.
Answer: Yes it is , I love this reel , I use it for smaller baits for musky fishing
Answer: Yes. And this model has the power handle
Q:
Can this reel handel an chinook, reguarding spinner fishing?
Answer: It's definitely powerful enough. Are you going after Chinook in fresh or salt water? I am unsure if it is saltwater ready. Definitely powerful enough especially if you get the "power handle" okuma offers for it.
Q:
What is the difference between 354 and 364 besides right and left handle and handle option
Answer: the 354 has 5.4:1 gear ratio and the 364 has 6.4:1 gear ratio .
Q:
So this reel has a audible bait clicker that can be switched on and off?
Answer: Yes, a very loud baitclicker too!
Answer: Yes, its pretty loud
Answer: yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does the level wind disengage when casting?
Answer: The level wind remains engaged when casting. The Citrix 350 cast really well. I use mine for casting lures and swimbaits for trophy largemouth bass, striper and for inshore species like Calico bass and yellowtail.
Answer: No. The level wind moves as the line leaves the spool. I think that makes for smoother casting.
Answer: No, it does not.
Q:
Can i use 65# power pro in this reel?
Answer: you can use 50-80lb power pro with no issues.
Answer: You probably could, but if you need 65# line, you would be better served with a larger reel. I use 40# it handles well.
Answer: I would think so. I use 60# Power Pro braid with a 30# fluorocarbon leader.
Q:
can you use it in saltwater?
Answer: It is salwater rated. Mine is used in salt water on a kayak where it gets wet. Just keep in mind any reel used in saltwater needs to be rinsed after each use. And will normally need to be torn down, inspected, and lubbed at least once a year.
Answer: For saltwater you ll need the Komodo. Well worth the extra money.
Answer: I use it on my kayak in the ocean. Great reel. Rinse with freshwater, wipe clean.
Answer: yes you can. it has brass gears so it more resistant to salt. i use this reel for calico bass in souther california. alo i put 40# braid for yellowtail when they get finicky.
Answer: Sure can...just wipe it down afterwards
Answer: Yes
Q:
How would this reel do for Pacific coastal kayak fishing: 5# to 90# rock fish, halibut, stripers, sharks? Maybe some yellow fin if I'm lucky?
Answer: Should hold up fine. I have almost a year of Kayak fishing the salt with it. Several large rays and large Stripers. Drag has been tested on mine and holding up well. Of course I rinse with fresh water after every trip. Have also had it on the beach a bunch.
Answer: It should work great. I've caught Rock gish to 10#s & California Yellowtail up to 20#s on it.
Q:
The ci-364pa comes with power handle?
Answer: Correct
Q:
Does "left hand" mean the handle is on the right for a left handed person?
Answer: The left hand model has the handle on the Left side.
Answer: If it says left hand and the model number has an X in it I believe it's a left handed reel. These reels seem to have an X on the left handed models.
Answer: It should say "left hand retrieve" meaning of course you operate the reel with your left hand.
Answer: Yeah, left hand wind.
Q:
Which of these models would be reccomended for salmon/steelhead fishing on rivers? Wanted to use this for float and drift rigging.
Answer: I don’t have a 350, but I have several ci-364a reels. I can say, the 364 is a fantastic reel. Holds plenty of line, great drag and a fast retrieve. I fish for salmon and stripper and have landed salmon to 30# and stripper to 25# with no problem.
Answer: Both reels are the same. The only difference is the handle option. The standard twin paddle handle would be the better choice. The power handle is better for the guys using their reels for inshore applications.
Q:
Just to be sure, is this a saltwater reel?
Answer: No, we use it for freshwater... Lake fishing..
Product reviews of Okuma Citrix Aluminum Frame Carbonite Drag 350 Size Low Profile Baitcaster
microamp : good for big baits!
I bought this reel for throwing big swimbaits: 10" triple trouts and ms slammers. The reel handles it all just fine!
Eric Trevisan : Smooth and durable
Very smooth reel, no problems. Handles musky, pike, and salmon with ease !
Grigori Reutov : Five Stars
i like it
grammy1 : Anniversary present
My husband loved his gift. He couldn't wait to go fishing. He said he didn't like the handle too much, but he loved the smoothness of the reel.
S. Doepke : Light, solid, great functionality!!!
Best reel I have ever puchased! Used it on a fishing trip in Norway, for spinning for cod! reeled in some pretty good size fish with it, and it didn't look like it was stressed at all!
Duc N. : After a month of use the reel does not hold ...
After a month of use the reel does not hold up at all, the drag does not hold up to 25lb. When i was on a trip i tight the drag after a couple time setting the hook on a fish the drag can loose and it was loose for the whole day even though i tighten it all the way, it's a big let down compare to my daiwa lexa 300 22lb of true drag, i could even pull in groupers with it but not this okuma with claim 25lb drag
RyanEnergizer : A beast
This thing is a beast. It feels like a work horse reeling those heavy lures in, its strong and smooth. It's cast a mile away with ease it feels like. Pretty awesome. Whenyouu set the spool tension up for your lure, give it a little bump more for the first few casts until you get use to it, its crazy easy to get backlash with this thing
Ed J. : so good. Spooled the reel with 120 yards of 65# ...
So far, so good. Spooled the reel with 120 yards of 65# braid. Quick smooth retrieve. Still trying to get used to the thumb brake release and power handle. Bait clicker is smooth and provides good tension, but not too much. Was able to fight and control several salmon in the high teens to low twenties. Now I'll see how this reel handles stripers. Should be no problem. One more thing, the drag is very nice. As you tighten or loosen, it clicks. Nice touch.
Dave : Five Stars
it works so great I bought another one
Dave Hedrick : Wonderful Reel
Great reel for the money. Have had it a couple of months for kayak fishing. Wanted a reel for salt and freshwater that I could use for jigging, throwing large swim baits for Stripers and Reds, and soaking bait when needed. This fits the bill.
This reel performs well. I gave taken about 60 fish with this reel in the last couple of months. It has held up well. Have not had any monsters to put this thing to a brutal test but have had a coue test the drag on some decent runs. Drag is smooth and with 25 pounds of it there is plenty for some very large fish.
Bait clicker is plenty loud. Reel is really smooth, and I am really impressed with the casting distance for a level wind reel. This thing will really bomb some baits out. Casts like a conventional reel.
The brakes work great, and are not hard to adjust. Very forgiving reel for a beginner. With plenty of line capacity for even very large fish out of a kayak. I also wanted a reel that had a backup anti reverse. If you have ever jad one fail and lost a monster as I have it is a must for hauling in lunkers.
Overall I am really happy with this reel, I will be adding a couple more to the arsenal.
Josh : Great option for catfishing
I’ve been using this for catfishing and it has been awesome. Had one 50+ on and handled it just fine. Drag is as smooth as you could ever want.
AliCat : Best Reel
This is the best reel !!! The price was terrrific It practicaly catches the fish for you
Thank you... Thank you

GSC : Works well for steelhead and salmon fishing
This has a really smooth feel on retrieve and casting. Also has a clicker if you're bottom fishing for cats carp etc. I've been using it for steelhead and salmon fishing and have been happy with it's performance on the water.
Mike Ferguson : Good for beginners or experienced musky fisherman
Cast great and drag is smooth great musky reel
Jonathan Fletcher : Excellent reel, smooth casting
Excellent reel, smooth casting, everything feels solid and works as it should. Reel is significantly larger than my Abu Silver Max. I have 20 pound braid on it, very happy with this purchase. Drag works fine. Need to adjust magnet on the inside, no external magnet dial for cast control, no big deal.
Josh : Great option for catfishing
I’ve been using this for catfishing and it has been awesome. Had one 50+ on and handled it just fine. Drag is as smooth as you could ever want.

nice reel, smooth and powerful.
RK : Simply the best reel for the money
Been using it for 2 seasons, salt, big blues and stripers. Simply the best reel for the money. Excellent, ez to adjust, drag controls even the largest fish. Slim profile is a godsend for kayak fishing.
Line management is excellent. So is casting ability, due to unique guide that follows the line during the cast.
### 04/17 update ###
4 seasons now, still going strong, dont even bother other reels anymore when I go kayak fishing. 2 Okumas is all I carry.
Caught some stripers just few hours ago.
I clean it myself, once a season.
GSC : Works well for steelhead and salmon fishing

Kevin Vender : Best value for Heavy Duty and it’s super light you can burn blades all day
Best value for a heavy duty reel!
DB SC : awesome. I have the Komodo- love it
This is my second reel I've bought!
I fish these reels hard and they don't miss a beat. Cast control and clicker at this price, awesome. I have the Komodo- love it, Komodo SS- love it, Diawa Lexa, and the Citrix ends up in my hand a lot. I've pulled barracuda, calicos, and yellowtail with this and it doesn't break a sweat. Buy it, fish it. You won't be sorry. I've been fishing my first Citrix for over 3 years and it still kills it.
Germz : So far so good
This is a nice reel, for the people reader comments about this catching yellowtail and small yellowfin and bluefin NO WAY. but this is a great reel for throwing big baits for maybe calico bass striper Sand Bass and throwing glide baits that's mainly what I use it for cast a mile smooth retrieve strong drag but this is definitely no yellowtail Slayer! Just a heads up
Stan : Great reel

polo barrios : Muy fuerte
