Answer: The entire reel is metal. I returned the real the next day because I noticed the drag wasn’t holding when I tightened it down all the way. I was still able to turn the spool with my hand. And I noticed the nut was backing off as I turned the spool with my hand.

Answer: I returned the reel the very next day after receiving it in the mail. I found that the drag nut was coming loose when I turned the spool with my hand. So the drag wasn’t holding. I didn’t put line on it.

Answer: It's pretty easy to install. You may have to use a hack saw to remove the original knob off the handle. After that, install new hardware for the new knob. Drill out the hole bigger if fastener doesn't fit. Tools used are hacksaw, drill, Phillips and flathead screwdriver, maybe pliers and loctite.
