Delivering incredible casting performance for a wide range of bass fishing applications, the Tatula CT features Daiwa’s cutting-edge TWS T-Wing System, which solves one of the age-old problems with baitcasting reel levelwind systems. It reduces the normally steep angles and friction that slow line flowing through a narrow line guide on casts. The wide top section of the T-wing allows line to freely during casting, and when the reel is engaged on the retrieve the line is funneled into the narrow lower channel of the T-wing for even distribution across the spool width.

Is this s saltwater reel?
Answer: This is not specifically designed as a saltwater reel.
Answer: I have mine, and use for freshwater only. It's very tough build reel. It would probably withstand salt water, but I wouldn't risk it with corrosion from the salt. I think it's rated for freshwater. Or wash it out thoroughly after each use. It does have a pretty strong drag on it, and a fast ratio. It would be able to turn bigger fish around quickly. I would be weary that some of the internals would corrode though with the salt.

Answer: It's a Japanese x American product. Daiwa is a Japanese company, but they have an American division of the company. This is not a JDM product. It's not only made in Japan. It's made to be sold in the American Market. Probably one of the best reels on market. The Magforce Z braking technology is fantastic, and the TWS or "T Wing System" allows the line to peel off the spool freely. When dialed in correctly, this reel is almost impossible to backlash with.

I was a big bass pro brand when it came to reels. Always have been. This is now my favorite reel. This is butter smooth casting.
3months of using and an update is necessary. I use this as my frog setup. I have 50lb braid on it. This thing is loud when casting. My buddy even asked me what all that racket was on the back of the boat. LOL The spool has a lot of play in it from side to side. This is causing the noise. If the play wasn't there I believe it would cast farther too.

I mean I’m not going to say anything different from what everyone thinks. Great reel. Well made. Tough. High ratio. Excellent pitching/flipping/ punching reel. It can pull those big fish from the matts and is quick enough to turn that big girl around and get her back to the boat.
