What is the diameter of these rolls when new? My unit will accept up to 2-1/2" before being to tight.
Answer: The roll is 3 1/2". It seems like good stuff at a reasonable price. I suggest you just unroll some. Make two rolls from one.
Answer: They are 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Your unit is probably similar to mine. What I do is leave the roll out of the unit and just undo the amount I need, use the cutter to cut it off, seal one end, put the food in, then seal as usual. Then, of course, as the diameter of the roll diminishes with use you can eventually put the roll in the unit. It's a little more work but these rolls are so inexpensive it's worth it.

Answer: they are freezer safe. I've used mine to freeze foods with no issues, not sure about reusable or dishwasher safe though. They're pretty sturdy and thick, so I imagine you could wash them and use them again if you had enough bag left to seal.

The bags are as good of quality as the brand name. Wish you well.

Answer: you determine that by cutting to size for what you are storing - high quality and works well - price is much lower than purchasing bags - however, you do have to seal both ends - you can figure number of bags by dividing total length of roll (in inches) by projected length of bag needed ex. if you think you will need 9" bag, then add 2" for seal at both ends and divide 600" by 11" for total number of bags

Answer: I have a FoodSaver model # V3245. Older model. The rolls are really big (thick) so in order for me to place them in the storage area in the machine. I have to cut my bags off as I need them until the roll is thin enough to fit in the holding area in the machine. The bags are the correct with to seal.
Answer: I do not have the machine that stores a roll - It seemed too bulky to store easily for me. Also, I use different widths, depending on what I'm sealing. it's easy to just grab the roll I need and cut from it.

Since it's okay to simmer, you probably wouldn't leave the bag in at a full rolling boil (I don't cook things in plastic or poly). Also, I do not have a microwave.
Answer: They are heavier type of bag. I haven't had any problems with sealing them, but have not tried to simmer or heat in microwave.

Answer: So far no cons. I think it's a great deal. The plastic is a little stiffer, maybe, but works just as well. The full rolls are too thick to fit into the machine, so I rolled half onto an old cardboard core to make it fit.

Answer: They are BPA free so that's always good and in sous vide cooking you heat to such low tempurates that no breakdown of plastic would occur. Sous vide cooking is heating the food to the exact temp you want to eat it a or essentially so it's kinda like putting prepared food into plastic after you've cooked it.

As a retired professional chef and current culinary educator, I go through a lot of product. When I buy extras for either home or school I break it down into manageable portions and vacuum seal it for freezing or subsequent sous vide cookery.
This material is perfect for my needs. I like that there's plenty to it (I don't mind cutting it down to fit the trough in the FoodSaver) and it seals well. As noted, I use this not only for storage but cooking. Sous vide requires watertight integrity and this product works well.

Kevin Clark : Don't hold up as well in freezer as actual Foodsavor Brand does
These don't hold up to food storage handling especially with freezing as well as actual Foodsavor bags. I seal and freeze many of my preserved food. I stack them in freezer and it's always those sealed with this brand that loose their seal with splits or pin holes that I don't have as problem with Foodsavor brand. I'm using the rools till their gone, but have to reseal things often.

I have a Foodsaver system. This material works well. I've had no problems creating a good seal. The product seems slightly thinner than OEM but they seem plenty strong enough. The rolls will not fit in the machine as shipped. That's because you get twice as much material as the OEM rolls for a lower price. You can't complain about that! For the large roll, I transferred half the new roll onto an old core to split it up and then it fit fine. For the smaller roll I don't have an old core so I've just been cutting off a bag size chunk with scissors and that works fine. Recommended.

Although the roll will not fit in the machine, it is easy to deal with. Simply lay the roll on the countertop, thread the end under the cutter and pull through the size needed. Seal as usual. This product is equal to the food saver bags at a fraction of the cost. So glad I found this item. Goodbye Foodsaver brand

The rolls themselves are comparable to the original food saver rolls, though they are missing the white label allowing you to write on the bag. The only complaint I have is that the vacuum sealer seems to have trouble towards the end of a sealing cycle. This causes the bag to not be sealed as tightly as the original brand of bag roll.
I’m not sure if it’s bevause I was sealing raw chicken straight from the pack and it was still a little damp or not. I’ll hsve to try again.

Dean Buzzell : A good value for Vacuum seal bags.
I found these bags to be quite effective for sous vide cooking. They're a pretty heavy gauge material, so they don't easily puncture - important if you're sealing meat with bones. The only issue I had with them was that they're difficult to fold the loading end over so you don't contaminate it for heat sealing. But - it's a fair trade-off if you want a heavy duty bag that won't puncture easily. I recommend this item.

Not sure where the negative reviews come from. This is a good food grade plastic bag that seals and preserves food just like the more expensive brand. Maybe those that had problems don’t really know how to use vacuum seal bags. I’ve flash frozen everything from cod to chicken to meatballs with vacuum sealed with these bags and have no problems. Save yourself a few bucks and get these, a bags a bag!

These worked fine for storing paint brushes, an opened partial bag of hydraulic cement, loaves of homemade garlic bread, and venison summer sausage. These supplement our pre measured and cut pint/quart/gallon vacuum bags for odd sized items. We have stored items, but have not yet opened any stored items but the paint brush. It was still good, with the paint not dried out to finish a project started one Saturday, and finished the next weekend. We then used the bag to hold the brush when discarded.

Ordered these bags same time as Nutrichef vacuum sealer. Just ran out of the bags that came with sealer and tried to use these bags. Would not allow sealer to pull a vacuum. The embossing on the bags would not seal as it was to high in profile. And guess what I am stuck with two rolls of bad bags as the return window expired. I will never purchase vacuum bags from amazon again. Evidently have to go to Costco to get good vac bags.

Despite a decent mil, these bag don't seem hold a seal well. It's almost like the bags have thin spots that allow air in after properly sealed. Bag's seem good enough, But my vacuum sealer ( FOOD SAVER) may not be up to the task, it seems I need to seal these bag's twice to get a good bond. More often then not they leak air. The mill thickness may be more then my sealer can handle.

I only have 2 small complaints with this item:
1. The role is physically too large to fit inside my machine
2. There are no markings on it to aid in measuring how much to cut.
That being said, I made a quick and cheap holder out of scrap wood and a dowel, and use my paper cutter to measure and cut them.

I was amazed at how quickly it arrived. Things have been taking a lot longer than usual because of Covid. I’ve been out and really needed them to freeze some meats I got on sale. These bags are just as good if not better than the name brand and the price is unbeatable. I am extremely pleased. Thank you!
Chad : One roll had cuts down the center...
These are way less expensive than at the local grocery store. But unfortunately I opened up the smaller roll and there was two 2 feet cuts down the roll. Hopefully there aren’t more as I get farther into the roll.... I’ll give it a 3/5 for now because I only got about 3 bags in before I noticed the cuts.
PRB : They work great with my FoodSaver
I've used both the large and small rolls with my FoodSaver and they work with no issues. The rolls are too big to fit in the FoodSaver, but I just cut off enough for each item that I'm sealing. It's a little inconvenient, but the value (lower price) of these rolls over the more expensive brand name more than make up for that minor inconvenience.
Beach Bum 312 : Appears to be as good as the Food Save brand at a lower cost
We have made more than 15 bags of various items to be cooked in our Sous Vide, no failures yet. Seems to be as good as the Food Save brand at a lower per item cost. We use Food Saver FM2400 to vacuum and seal the bags. We have also used this to seal leftovers, we then use our Sous Vide to reheat the leftovers, works great no problems, no leaks. We have frozen meat and marinated chicken going from the freezer to the Sous Vide without any issues.
High Hopes : WORKS LIKE A CHARM
Works like a charm with our vacuum sealer. Much less expensive than making bags. With these rolls, you can cut off just the amount you need, seal one end, add your food, then seal the other end. WAY better than bags that tell you what size you have to use, whether or not you need that large a size.
Over Drive : Excellent product...excellent seller!
I had an issue originally with a product defect. The seller immediately took care of the issue and I'm a happy customer. Great value!

Great value for the low price. I was impressed upon opening them and seeing how big the rolls are. They are twice as big as the rolls that came with my vacuum sealer. I will be absolutely be purchasing these again.
tcb in the OC : Material have punctures in them rendering long sections unusable
Both rolls have 3-4 punctures in the roll surface that penetrated the rolls and seem to have been made during the rolling phase of manufacturing so that the punctures are repeated and made the material unusable. the punctures are deep so that I had to discard 12ft from the large roll and 16ft from the small roll until i can get to material that no longer have puncture thru the bag surface. Poor quality assurance or bad luck on my part? I also submitted feedback directly to supplier and asked for replacement. Will update if I get response but this is pretty cut-and-dry.
Jaebea : Doesn't work with the Geryon
I gave it 1 star only because it doesn't work with my Geryon. The machine couldn't get enough suction to get the air out. The thinner bags work fine. $20 wasted. Not the bags fault. They just don't work with the Geryon.

When I saw the ad, I was happy that I could get a lot of bags for a low-cost, but what I did not realize was that it did not fit inside my food saver. I ended up having to cut each bag to the size I wanted manually, seal them on one side, and then seal up my food. My own stupid fault.

They do their job well. very cost effective compared to other options online. If you're looking at getting them quickly online this is probably your best best. That being said if you have a car and a open-to-public type of restaurant store or restaurant supply store near you, many sell individual rolls for a little as 3$/11"x50' (3mil thickness)

Ordered these bags same time as Nutrichef vacuum sealer. Just ran out of the bags that came with sealer and tried to use these bags. Would not allow sealer to pull a vacuum. The embossing on the bags would not seal as it was to high in profile. And guess what I am stuck with two rolls of bad bags as the return window expired. I will never purchase vacuum bags from amazon again. Evidently have to go to Costco to get good vac bags.

Also, liquids don’t seem to stay sealed. I will say make sure all packages don’t have any air or sharp edges that can poke other bags.

I was very excited to try the product when I saw it online. I hate paying high amounts of money for disposable plastic bags. I know they say you can wash them, but I just don't trust it, especially with meats. These bags work just as well as the name brand variety, at a much lower price. You get so many of them, that you can pretty much seal and freeze anything without wondering should I waste a bag on this?

Works fine with my food saver but rolls are giant size so I have to use a little at a time. The large rolls do not allow the top to close but if I make roll smaller it is fine and great price.
Cara I. : Works some of the time, leaks at other times
Like other reviewers, I have had the last 1/4 of the roll with wrinkled plastic - it simply does not hold the seal. I have also had the non-wrinkled part of the roll lose the seal, not as often but probably about 1/3 of the time. After purchasing this twice, I am going back to Food Saver brand bags which always held their seal for me.

I made bags with my Food Saver and placed Brussels sprouts and broccoli inside. Put them in fridge( no air inside) Checked 3 days later and the bags were all puffed up with air!!! As far as I am concerned this is a total waste of my money and my time. Next time I will buy Food Saver bags. You can count on that! I will not be using for any more food. Maybe seal make-up or paper products to save from moisture but not food, that is for sure!

I found this product to work better than the rolls that came with my Food Saver machine. I was having a hard time getting the Food Saver bags to seal properly. They seemed to be fine, but then leaked when I defrosted meat and made a mess in my refrigerator. I've been using these bags for 4 months, and so far I get an airtight seal with no defrosting leaks!

These are good sturdy bags. They work in my Food Saver just fine. The bigger rolls dont fit in the roll dispenser, they would need a few less feet on the roll to fit. But you can buy these rolls that way if that is what you like. I have bought them both ways, same quality bags. These are all I buy anymore. They hold up.

With the vacuum food saver I received at Christmas I was supplied with some pre-cut bags and an eight inch small roll of plastic bag material that you could cut to fit whatever you were storing at the time. I saw this was a better value than pre-cut bags, so when it came time to renew my supply, this is the choice I made. At first, I did not think that I needed the larger eleven inch roll, but it did not take long to see that it is a handy size as well. I use mine almost exclusively for freezing meats and fish. Previously, I used freezer paper. I like the vacuum system much better, I am finding that there is less frost on the meats. The two roll pack is a great value, it will last me a long time.
Eth3rton : Awesome value for food sealer bags!
I am a repeat customer for these. I use them with a FoodSaver and they work perfectly. I love that you can cut the size you need each time. I will note though, that I used these with ribs once. When the suction gets tight, it will put a hole in the bag so be sure you take aluminum foil and make little bumpers on the sharp bone edges before you put them in the bag. This will prevent holes or tears in the bag.

I purchased these as an alternative to bags. I love that I can make any size I need. It's especially great for larger items that wouldn't fit in a gallon bag. I just vacuum sealed a 5 lb bag of flour. Much more useful and economical than the bags. I love them.

These rolls work well on various types of foods. Vacuum as much as you need these bags work and seal great. So far as I am concerned.
nearoffutt : Useful for odd shaped items, and items other than food.
These worked fine for storing paint brushes, an opened partial bag of hydraulic cement, loaves of homemade garlic bread, and venison summer sausage. These supplement our pre measured and cut pint/quart/gallon vacuum bags for odd sized items. We have stored items, but have not yet opened any stored items but the paint brush. It was still good, with the paint not dried out to finish a project started one Saturday, and finished the next weekend. We then used the bag to hold the brush when discarded.
E. E. Saulsberry : Works well in my Foodsaver machine.
I have a Foodsaver system. This material works well. I've had no problems creating a good seal. The product seems slightly thinner than OEM but they seem plenty strong enough. The rolls will not fit in the machine as shipped. That's because you get twice as much material as the OEM rolls for a lower price. You can't complain about that! For the large roll, I transferred half the new roll onto an old core to split it up and then it fit fine. For the smaller roll I don't have an old core so I've just been cutting off a bag size chunk with scissors and that works fine. Recommended.

I use these all the time. They feel thicker than food saver and the value for how many you get is well worth it. I butcher my own cows. And I would need 2 boxes of the food savers. 2 packs if’s these are more than enough for a cow and I have a lot left over.

Does the same job as the name brand "Food Saver" bags for a fraction of the price. I've noticed no difference in quality or durability and haven't had any issues with tearing, unsealing, wear, or lack of proper initial sealing.
These are my "go to" replacement bags, and when I initially started buying them, they were the best value for money. I haven't cross-shopped since then, so I can't say for sure if they are the best value right now...

Ordered these for my food saver. Trimmed the large rolls so they would fit inside my food saver for storage.
These rolls are exactly like the brand name ones I used to use, same strength , same texture and durability but you get a lot more for your money. Definite good quality and great value .
