My husband bought it for bass fishing and was very happy with it
MH : It Lured me into using it, and it works
I do like this SP minnow (Sinking). I've purchased a few patterns and have caught Stripers on the Sardine Pattern, Ghost (Which glows in the dark, they don't really say that in the description, but charge it with a Fenix or something, and it does glow at dusk/dawn), and I've also caught Stripers on the Semi Transparent Sardine pattern as well. I also had a huge 16" Red tail perch hit on the transparent sardine pattern as well.
Be sure to "Rattle" them before casting, either just shake them vertically by hand before you cast, or just twitch the tip of your pole to make sure the 3 buckshots inside are at the end. It's like golf, when you hit it right you know, it casts like a missile and gets good distance. Action is great and I've noticed all the stripers I got were "in the waves" when it comes to surf fishing, in that the Stiper are feeding like dolphins in the waves and that's when I noticed the strikes.
If you use a fast retrieve, they'll dive deeper, and as one commenter stated, if you retrieve slower toward shore you won't be bouncing off the bottom, although I would suspect bouncing close to the bottom would be good for maybe Halibut inshore.
I didn't replace my hooks, as the stock hooks seemed adequate, but I did remove the split ring on the nose, cause I don't like tying to split rings as they line can work its way through and start to slide out. Personal preference I guess.
Since it's a relatively long lure (6") I noticed if I get them on the rear hook, when they run I've been hooking them in the side as well with the belly hook, which of course makes you think you have a much bigger fish than you really do! But that's a good problem to have.
I've ordered a couple more, the chrome version and another ghost white, as I feel the ghost seems to be the most productive for Striper's and the chrome pattern will pretty much work, I think, for any big game fish.
And, to note, they actually don't "Sink" per-se. If you cast them and let them sit they'll sit belly down in the water with their head popping up, it's the retrieve that gets them down. I also give them a good full pull to get the buckshot rattling a bit for extra attraction, then a slow to moderate retrieve. When they're "in the wave" I try to keep it in the wave, as I mentioned, that seems to be when it's the most attractive to the Striper's. My application thus far has been surf fishing only, not via boats or piers.
Cliente de Amazon : Buena calidad
El material se ve de buena calidada, esperaba un señuelo un poco mas pesado.
Thomas Butcher : Really like this lure
Extremely effective lure
Devin : Great Lure, good cast.
Bought this for the beach and never had the chance to use it, but last night I took it out to Lake Arthur and a big channel cat smashed it on the second cast. Love it!
Amazon Customer : Looks good hasn't worked yet
Used it for the first time yesterday for Stripped Bass (salt water) didn't catch anything. Looks good hasn't worked yet ! As my 14 y.o. says there's always tomorrow. As Dick Clark's ABS used to say I'll give it an 85 to dance to but wouldn't buy the record.
Tony : Chrome color - Not accurate
I bought this lure thinking that it'll look as promoted. In person, this lure is shiny/silver chrome and has a dab of black on top of the head. I understand that I'm buying a "chrome color" lure but I thought that it would be a dark chrome/white to give this lure a bait fish color. This lure does not look like the one in the picture. Overall, lure is well built except for the hooks.
Lanmex : Blue fish bomber
Blue fish luv this Minnow and striper schoolies - bites with no hesitation , but not the keeper striper - they tend to hesitate the bite .
JUAN PABLO HERNANDEZ RODRIGUEZ : Excelente calidad
Thomas : Results You Would Hope For From A Lure
Crushes Stripers by rocky drop offs. Lure casts great and provides great action in the water. It also cuts through the current and breaking waves very well. Only thing is that if you care about how your lures maintain its color, you will go through these pretty fast because they take a beating once you start hooking a few. When you do hook up, keep it tight!
Ramon BG : Lo e comprado dos 2 y la verdad muy buen producto
Muy buen articulo recome dado al 100%
