Questions about Bomber Lures Who Dat Spoon Spinner Bait Fishing Lure
Q:
How heavy is the lure?
Answer: The lure is much lighter than what I thought, I will stick to the Effzett spoons as they also have a better action in the water.. The Who Dat spoon is still good though, for smaller rivers where you don't have too cast too far..
Answer: Very, I think at least 1/2 ounce. Got to real it quick or use in deep water. Haven't had any luck with it and I fish inland saltwater ways in Florida. I Fish for reds, spotted sea trout, tarpon and snook.
Answer: The four I purchases were all 1/2 oz perfect for sea trout and red fish in the bay off Florida's west coast near crystal River.

Product reviews of Bomber Lures Who Dat Spoon Spinner Bait Fishing Lure
KP : Scares off fish!
This spoon flat out won't catch fish. Tried trolling it, fast retrieve, slow, in cover, open water. It flat out will waste your time. Buy a common spoon and save your money.
dgsorensen : Weed guard also guards the hook from fish...
The weed guard for the hook needs to be a touch shorter. It's just the right length that when a fish bites, the end of the hook sticks in it and not the fishes mouth.

CDP's Onceagain habit of purchasing : Bomber Saltwater Grade Who Dat - Rattling Spinner Spoon - Gold tone from Bomber
The Bomber Saltwater Grade "Who Dat" Rattling Spinner Spoon - Gold tone from Bomber is a 3" long gold painted spoon like luer with a large 5/0 sized plated hook. It has a guard with a swiveled gold spinner at then end of the plastic and is attached with a screw, which could be removed. When fished for larger saltwater fish, it is a little bit bulkier than the usual spoon, in that is made with a rattling cavity "throat" at the eye end of the body up front to give it a hefty weight forward look. The rattling heard when holding the hook and swivel to keep them from moving is a low pitched clicking rattle. The size of this specific hook is comparable to a 5/0 Strike King hook and it weighed 0.84 ounce on my digital scale. The sound and wobbling, clicking and spinner flash may intimidate a finicky feeding smaller fish, but this luer will only make a big Bull Red Drum hungrier. Big Specs also should not be scared of this spoon and the shiny gold spoon is a proven offering for both redfish and trout. Bomber has offered a uniquely designed product with the Who Dat Rattling Spinner Spoon and the later reviews from buyers will determine if it will catch fish. Good luck with it and enjoy your next day fishing.
I took pictures with my phone and have tried to add them to the product pictures, haven't seen them yet.
Billy : Wrong Picture of Product
This is not the Who Dat spoon with the spinner blade. I ordered this thinking it was. The one with the spinning blade is awesome. I'm sending this blade-less spoon back.

JMC : Bad manufacturing
Ordered one. Beads fell off first one after ten casts then broke off after snag above water in limb. Ordered another. Saw that paint was chipping on eye of lure. Dozen casts later and lure cut through line and was lost. Would not recommend.

Carlos C. Muñoz III : Overall, good!
Orange beads did not last. They disappeared after a couple of casts. Not to worry! Still caught a bunch of Redfish.
TJ : The lure itself does not really spin but it sways in a more rocking motion
The rattle seems to scare fish more than attract them. Who dat approached and I watched the fish say See Ya scatering quickly. I did manage to catch a small jack. The way the hook sits makes it very hard to set the hook ( See Comparison pic compared to a standard spoon). I was able to snag the fish on the gill when he spit it out which is more luck then performance.
The red beads came off after a short while of use which was very disappointing. The lure itself does not really spin but it sways in a rocking motion. Combine the action with the red beads and I think it might perform best as a shrimp skipping along the bottom, but with the beads not staying attached this was not very viable See pic).
I struggle to see what type of fish this was made for. The hook placement deep in the body vs protruding makes a clean snag very difficult (See comparison hook placement to a traditional spoon in pic).
The only good points I found were
1. The Who Dat casts like a champ! On a calm day I can easily toss this fella as far as I like with little effort. On a windy day if I put the wind to my back the lure acts as a sail and goes easily farther than any other lure I have casted that did not weight 3 ounces.
2. The motion combined with the beads may have a spot in your gear bag as an artificial shrimp or crab.
3. It is very reflective, Where I fish there are a lot of rocks. The lure took a beating and showed wear and tear but kept its shine very well. The hook turns to silver after only a few casts but that is not really a big deal IMO.
Final thought... If you are constantly fighting wind in extremely murky water, then this may be worth giving a go. If you are a spoon enthusiast then I recommend you look else where. This is BARELY a spoon and hardly acts like one
WILLIAM T. : Line kept getting wrapped under the weed less spinner every ...
Line kept getting wrapped under the weed less spinner every time. Also could not catch a fish with it. Kept missing every redfish. Switch to a regular spoon and started catching them. Not sure what the issue with missing fish was? I believe they were hitting the spinner and not the actual bait b/c the spinner sits so far behind hook. Will not purchase again. Sorry.
Herminio : Waste of money!
2 starts cuz I got what I ordered but it swims horrible I’ve seen it scare fish away and then I throw a Texas roach or some down south lures and set a hook on those same fish... DONT WASET YOUR MONEY!
Bruce G. : Five Stars
Good quality bait and the redfish seem to really go after the rattle sound
