Questions about FOYO Handheld Vacuum Sealer Machine, Food Sealer for Food Savers, Household Vacuum Equipment, Small Kitchen Appliance for Food Preservation
Q:
To charge it, can i plug it to a 220-240v electric plug or is it only for 110v?
Answer: Yes, the usable voltage range is 110-240v, you can plug it to a 220-240v electric plug.
Answer: The adapter is for 110 only. They probably sell a 220 adapter as well.
Answer: As seen in the picture the plug is 2 prong 110v US. Also it's not rechargable it runs either on battery or you can plug it in to avoid battery use
Answer: I’ve only plugged it into a 110 outlet in our kitchen.
Answer: Absolutely "NOT," 110-115v only!
Q:
I need to use sealed bags for my sous vide. what kind of bags can i use with this hand held vacuum sealer? i need both gallon and quart size.
Answer: I bought the ones "Food Saver" in both the gallon and quart size. They work very well with this unit. Are reusable. Hope this helps.
Answer: I purchased Food Saver bags
Answer: This should work fine.
Answer: I got mine on amazon.
Q:
Will this device work for foodsaver bags-its listed on product description but in one of the reviews it states it doesn’t work-pls advise?
Answer: It works on zip seal bags that have a port in time for the vacuum to use. Food saver bags work with it.. That is the ones I use
Answer: It’s been a while since I tried it, but as I recall, if you move the head around on the suction area you can sometimes get it to work, but I wouldn’t count on it working all the time..
Q:
does it come with some bags
Answer: No bags came with it (September 2017).
Answer: I honestly don't remember, sorry! However, if it did, it would be limited to 4 or 5 bags, different sizes. I say this because none of the free bags that came any of my devices numbered more than 5 or 6.
Answer: No bags. I bought them separately.
Answer: No, only vacuum sealer
Answer: yes only 3
Answer: No
Q:
What’s the proper way to insert the batteries? I’ve tried multiple ways but it doesn’t work.
Answer: This does not need batteries. It comes with a cord to plug into an electric socket. If you’re missing the cord, contact the seller to have one sent to you—or return it if still within the return window.
Answer: Sorry, I don't recall having any issues with inserting the batteries. Actually, my son is the one that has been using this vacuum sealer. I do know that he had an issue with getting the vacuum suction directly onto the exact spot on the hold in the bag, is very touchy. Got upset different times.
Q:
can the plug in charge the batteries ?
Answer: The plug in does not use batteries.
Answer: There are no batteries. It operates plugged into a wall socket
Answer: I may be wrong but I don’t think so. It’s so easy to use plugged in that I have never used battery power.
Answer: No
Q:
What is the output of power adapter? i mean xxvdc and xxma. thanks.
Answer: Hello, Output:6V/2500MA.
Answer: Don't know, but not happy with the unit I purchased. It does not hold a charge well. I prefer the hand pump by Ziplock but the bags were discontinued. Would not buy this electric Fresh Saver (Food saver) again.
Answer: Sorry I don't know how to answer this question. I just know I can make it work with the bags intended for the Sealer.
Q:
Can this pump be used on garment storage bags?
Answer: If the company makes bags as big as you might need, I would say "yes." However, I haven't looked or seen bags larger than the quart & gallon. If you can get them, in larger sizes, I would assume they would work just as well as the food storage bags.
Answer: Only if the bag has a valve
Answer: I'm sorry. No,
Q:
Will this work with a food saver mason jar sealer?
Answer: It is a handheld vacuum pump with a rubber o ring that you press against whatever you are dealing .
Q:
Can this be used with the vacuum hose for the canisters?

Where can I find the bags for this?
Answer: They can be found on Amazon.Com. Food Saver hand held Vacuum Bags
Answer: I have NEVER found bags for this vacuum sealer. I use it to extract air from cheese and whole coffee bean bags. Good luck....
Answer: As others have said, they are widely available on Amazon and at Walmart, Target and other such stores. I have seen them in some grocery stores as well. Be sure to look for Foodsaver or Freshsaver zipper vacuum seal bags. Hope this helps!
Answer: Hello, there
Answer: It has been awhile been I'm fairly certain I ordered them from Amazon titled Fresh Saver (Food Saver). They work very well and can be reused several times. Hope this helps.
Answer: I buy them on Amazon.
Q:
Where ca are there any sample bags includedn you get additional suction adapters
Answer: No sample bags included. Unsure about the suction adapters.
Q:
Does the Hand held Vacuum Sealer work w/other brands attachments & accessories like jar sealers & storage containers?
Answer: Yes,our Hand held Vacuum Sealer can work with jar sealers & storage containers.
Answer: If they fit the original HandiVac that was sold for the original handiVac bags they should work with this device. For all I can tell it is identical to the original battery powered one except it is not limited to battery power.
Answer: No
Q:
Where is this product made?
Answer: Made in China, I think.
Answer: The device doesn’t provide where it was made, but the plug’s electrical info is totally in non-alphabet characters, so I’m pretty sure it’s made in CHINA!!
Answer: The vacuum does not have the country of manufacture on it. I no longer have the box. Sorry. Good luck.
Answer: China
Answer: It is made in China
Q:
Does the hand held vacuum sealer work w/other brands of zipper vent bags like foodsaver, nesco, waring, etc.. besides the sellers?
Answer: If these zipper vacuum bag can be squeezed the air like us having a hole, our Food Vacuum Sealer will work.
Q:
Is it compatible for the foodsaver mason jar sealer? the one you just pop on and turn on the sealer and it removes the air?
Answer: No, I own both devices, the hand-held-sealer and the Food Saver jar attachment. The HHS works great with different brands vacuum bags, but it’s not compatible with other vacuum accessories that I’m aware of.
Q:
What is the warranty, & for how long?
Q:
Can it be used with the mason jar attachments for sealing?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Good question! I use mason jars myself, and prefer them over the Zip-lock vacuum seal bags (not the heat-seal bags) I have everything I need to run a test (never thought of it before), but give me a day or two and I'll see how it works out, and let you know. I can, and do forget things, so if you don't hear from me within a day or two, please send a reminder.
Answer: Yes,it's ok.
Answer: I don't know the answer sorry
Q:
Sealer uses 6 batteries i.e. 1.5 volts that's 9 volts but a/c adapter is described as 6 volts. Is there an error?
Answer: Sorry, I don’t know. I have only used The a/c Adapter
Answer: I did not buy the vacuum sealer only bags got my vacuum from Debbie Meyer on HSN
Q:
If it uses batteries why does it show a power charger???
Answer: When you have electric outlet, use power cord (it's not a charger), if no outlet, use the battery power. Both works very well. I like this unit.
Answer: It gives you a choice. I used to have one that only worked only on batteries and I found this a/c option on my new one a big plus. If you're away from an electrical outlet it's good to have the batteries.
Answer: You have both options. You can run without battery, just with power cord.
Q:
Will this unit fit/work/vacuum with the reynolds handi-vac vacuum freezer bags??
Answer: Yes! It is just like the device Reynolds sold to go with their bags, except it has an electric cord slot so no more AAA batteries. Works just fine.
Answer: Not really sure. However, it worked with all the various third-party vacuum bags that I have. It just needs a "vacuum plug" that seals internally.
Answer: As long as there is a place on the bag for the vacuum sealer then yes I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I use it for multiple brands as well.
Answer: Yes, we replaced the original vacuum with this one. Works as well with those bags.
Answer: I don’t know.. my bags have a small circle where you place the vacuum. I love mine!
Answer: yes it works fine with the bags.
Answer: I believe so as long as they have that circle to vac
Q:
how do you use the pump .,step by step, how does it access the bag
Answer: My pump I had it's a genius Debbie Meyer one
Q:
Is the AC adapter included as pictured?
Answer: The adapter appears to be the one that I received from the seller.
Answer: yes ac adapter come with it
Answer: Yes, don't waste your money. I nought the recommended bags, then some from Hefty. It doesn't have enough power to keep a suction on the bag. My hand vacuum pump by Hefty was far better.
Answer: Yes, this a very handy machine!
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes it is.
Q:
As someone else mentioned it runs on 6 1.5 volt batteries == 9 volts but it comes with a 6 volt adapter. Has anyone tried using a 9 volt adapter?
Answer: I have only used the adapter it came with. It works great with it.
Answer: Yes, it works
Q:
How much negative pressure will this take out of a mason jar?
Answer: About -62.5kpa
Q:
are there any sample bags included
Answer: No, not sample bags included
Answer: The bags are not included.
Answer: I don't remember any bags included. We ordered some separately. We do like the sealer. It works well.
Q:
Is the wine bottle stopper available?
Q:
How long do you keep the vacuum plugged in?
Answer: You keep it on until the bag is sealed. You can tell from the appearance of the bag and the change in the sound when that happens. Doesn't matter if it's on a/c or batteries, its the same for both. I switched from using this to an inexpensive counter top vacuum sealer. Amazon does not sell the brand I bought anymore but similar models are available for under $50. I strongly recommend these as you can buy rolls of both size vacuum bags that you can cut to size and seal both ends with the counter top vacuum sealer. Saves money and are more flexible and powerful.
Answer: As long as you use it without batteries, it's like any other appliance. Plug it in, use it, un-plug it when done
Answer: I only plug it in when I use it . Then unplug it until the next time I use it .
Answer: One good thing about this device is that the power cord plugs directly into the pump, and not the base-stand. I don’t know if the unit will over-charge or not; but even with batteries missing, or installed and working, you can still use the device while it's connected to an AC power source.
Answer: i plug it in when its low and leave plugged over night.
Answer: I only plug it in when I need it. Seems to work okay that way.
Answer: I have not had good results on this product. Purchased it and the bags, sealed the meat and the next day all the frozen bags had allowed air in. I'm looking into the heat sealing machines.
Answer: I've had mine for some time but I only remember charging it over night and then it being ready to use.
Q:
what quart size bags will work in the Cuisinart hand held sealer? I am unable to find cuisinart bags.
Answer: I use the sealer to vacuum seal Starbucks coffee bags.
Answer: Any bag that has a valve will work
Answer: the last ones i got from amazon were the best there is no name on the package they know the name
Q:
Where cani get the wine stopper for the foyo vacuum sealer?
Answer: I am not sure. The company should be able to help you.
Q:
will these bags work with a cuisinart handheld sealer ?
Answer: I do not know if these bags will work with a
Answer: NO
Product reviews of FOYO Handheld Vacuum Sealer Machine, Food Sealer for Food Savers, Household Vacuum Equipment, Small Kitchen Appliance for Food Preservation
Ann : Happy with purchase.
Happy with purchase.
Peter Chesky : Sucks Really Well.
Great for what I needed it for.
MADA : Tried it once, sent it back!
Tried it once, but numerous attempts to obtain any sort of suction. Sent the product back and will upgrade soon to a more robust and powerful system.
Mike Beaubien : Save ur money
Terrible produce. Pump is weak and takes way way too long to seal. Save your monet
Buddy Currens : Get ready to buy batteries!
The unit meets the description with one exception, it needs 6 AA batteries. It does come with a power/charger unit. Performance so far is good. The 3 star rating is for my disappointment for having to buy batteries!
Jeanie Kozlowski : Not worth the money
Not enough suction. Don't waste your money.. buy the tabletop version.
Buddy Currens : Get ready to buy batteries!
The unit meets the description with one exception, it needs 6 AA batteries. It does come with a power/charger unit. Performance so far is good. The 3 star rating is for my disappointment for having to buy batteries!
Frank B : Good
I like it- works well. Electric cord doesn’t work; battery only.
sweetpea : Works great!
I use this with food saver mason jar lid vacuum sealer and it works great! In just a few seconds your mason jar is vacuum sealed and keeps items fresh much longer than a plastic storage container.
Grammy of 7 : Frustrating
It works okay but not as fast as the hand held pumps. It states to pulse the vacuum. Not to happy with the bags either, takes a lot to finish the project, plus noticed a day later, they were filled with air in the freezer even though absolutely closed. ☹
Paul Montgomery : Good suction reasonably easy to use.
Good suction reasonably easy to use
Jm : Great value , good product for the money
So far so good . I've only had the opportunity to use it once so far . Bought this to seal BBQ for freezing . Very easy to use and did a great job . Sealed 20# brisket and 4 racks of ribs . Seal while it's still warm , refrigerate then freeze . Drop a bag in boiling water and tastes almost as good as fresh off the pit .
D. L. : Worked With Jar Attachment
I had a corded foodsaver handheld that served me for many, many years for canisters that I store spaghetti in and sealing dry goods like rice or beans in canning jars with the jar attachment. They no longer make or sell the model that served my needs so well. I was sealing brown rice in quart jars when it stopped working.
I also have a very old foodsaver vacuum sealer with no bells or whistles that still works for vacuum sealing bagged items. It has a spot to attach a hose, so I ordered a hose attachment, but could not get it to work with the jar adapter. The bare bones machine I have doesn't have controls that would allow me to just vacuum.
When I ordered this device, I thought it might work if I removed the clear cap and just used the small tip with my jar attachment, but I tried that first and it didn't work.
It does work with the clear cap on by centering the nozzle over the top of the jar adapter.
After I sealed the 3 quart jars that remained after my beloved handheld died, I read the instructions.
In the future, I'll be cautious not to run it too long at a time to keep from destroying the internal motor.
I'll keep the thing in place and just use short periods until the vacuum is formed.
I really wish Foodsaver still made and sold the corded handheld that finally died on me because it was absolutely wonderful and served me well for many years. Mine was corded and had a base that the handheld rested in. I'm not a fan of their new handheld devices and wasn't about to purchase an expensive vacuum sealer for the retractable handheld on the new ones. My old bare bones model still works for vacuum sealing bags.
I have no idea how many years I had and used that device, but I know I purchased it a long time ago.
Richard Mader : Not a good product
Quit after one week
sharon mcdermott : My review
At the one that you use batteries really like the one that you're plugged in much better just wish the bags were better
Amazon Customer : Cheap and good
Very nice
Richard Mader : Not a good product
Quit after one week
Lynda Bryant : I haven't lost a piece of cheese since I got my Food Saver.
I use my Food Saver at least once a day for lunchmeat, meat, veggies, leftovers & fish. It has quickly become my favorite kitchen appliance.
Mary : Food lasts longer and you save time!
The suction power is just right. It’s easy to use and I can grab it, suction a jar or the special zip locks, and be finished in about a minute. Great value for the money! Wish I had bought one years ago.
Sharon : Takes a minute to get used to it but works like a charm.
Love the size. Does the same job as the bigger bulky units.
Matthew Dezendorf : Awesome product
I love this thing, it works great, no issues, a little loud but it has an auto off when done and runs off an AC adapter exactly what I wanted
J.R. : I like it because it operates on both battery and electric
I like it because it operates on both battery and electric, and does an excellent job of extracting the air from sealer-bags. It has a good quality feel to it (not cheap), but it’s made in China, and the device has no brand name of any type, or other product markings associated with it. As a rule, if I can't locate a kind-word about an item other than where it's being sold, then it's a "try at my own risk."
If it holds- up for the long run then I would say “it’s well worth the expense,” which is a fare price considering its ability to run on both battery and electric. Although it’s performing as expected for now, and I do indeed like it, I won’t give it five stars because I can’t find any additional history/reviews on it other than it comes from China. Other than that, I would say it’s well worth a try and see for yourself, It’s your-call!
The Amazon links below will take you to three different Vacuum Sealer kits (all on Amazon) which all four appear to have sprung from the same manufacturing source, they all look like mine, but having different price points, from $7 to $50, Pay close attention to the descriptions because there are differences in the devices, but you are the judge. This unit works well with the "Food Saver" brand zip-bag.
I wish Amazon would display/group all-alike-items together which would allow purchasers to make a more informed decision before we buy.

Help this helps.
Shirley : Bags we're not included. Very disappointed in that.
Great product. However beware it did not come with the sealer bags. Checked with Amazon and they said the product description says you have to order the bags separately. Luckily I have old Debbie Meyer bags that I did not throw out because I forgot I had them. It works fine.
Syl : Batteries not necessary
Liked the fact I could plug into a wall outlet..
Amazon Customer : Cheap and good
Very nice
Amazon Customer : Battery cover constantly pops off!
This does a great job creating a vacuum when using it with the foodsaver jar sealers. Unfortunately though, the battery cover constantly pops off and the batteries fall out. Short of retapping it with electrical tape after every battery change, I don’t know how I’ll be able to keep the batteries in it. :(
Amazon Customer : Works fine
As described
Robert M. : Works good, but take a while if you are vacuuming out a lot of air.
It works good, but a little slow. Would be better if it had a rechargeable battery instead of having to run it with the cord plugged in.
Paul Montgomery : Good suction reasonably easy to use.

Amazon Customer : Easy to use
Everyone wants to clean up dinner so they can use Foyo for leftovers.
Ichibanhombre : DOA
I received this just before I went on vacation so when I returned and tried to use it, it wouldn't even turn on. Since I was beyond the 30 days, Amazon wanted to charge 25% re-stocking fee. Re-stocking what? It's dead. I had to argue and pointed out it had 90 day coverage, and then the rep finally offered me a replacement w/o a restocking fee. I still had to print, re-pack, and ship the item back.
George : FOYO accessories
The vacuum unit works fine. However if you want any of the accessories shown in the manual, such as the wine bottle stopper, you may not be able to find where to get it. Any information about the manufacturer, FOYO, is non existent (the manual does not have an address or web site URL).
TooT : Non working
I ordered 2, one worked ok, but the second did not work. I tried them using house current. They come with a 6vdc transformer, but need 9v worth of batteries. The working model does not do well with its 6v transformer (slow, sounds as though it is struggling) believe it would do better with a higher v transformer, so I am going to get one and see if it helps!
Jennifer Riley : seals well
freezing meat
Diana Marie : Works well but not made well.
The product works and stores in a cabinet versus the larger vacuum sealers that are big and bulky. However, the plug is comprised of two plastic parts which broke apart with the second use. I use a rubber band to hold it together. It still works, but it’s cheaply made.

It does the job as advertised.
Donna McDonough : Five Stars
This came but doesn't have good directions as to how to use it.
DJL : Disappointed - hard to use
I wanted to like this sealer to replace my dead Fresh Saver sealer that I had for years which just won't charge anymore. This sealer has a very small area that is hard to place exactly in the right spot on the zip lock sealer bags to get a good vacuum connection. I have to move it around every time to find the right spot. Putting in where you'd expect (over the center of the sealing area of bag didn't work at all.) The Fresh Saver brand sealer area covered the entire seal area of the bag and was easy to locate and worked flawlessly every time. I also didn't like the fact that it wasn't rechargeable and required batteries but I knew that when I purchased it. That just adds to my overall dissatisfaction. I returned it and ended up with a vacuum heat sealer now that they have come down in price. It works perfectly and included a hose and suction cup to use with accessories including my remaining zip lock style vacuum bags. The brand was Mooka and it works GREAT!
Amazon Customer : Strong suction
It has good strong suction with the a/c adapter. I don't know how the suction is with batteries since I have no reason to try it that way.
anita : Missing plastic bag!!
I"m sick of paying full price for already returned items that have missing parts! The worst vendor ever. Avoid at all costs! Couldn't try the product without the plastic vacuum bag. Wish I could give zeros.
