Answer: The seal on your machine is either dirty or warring out, I have been using my machine like that for four years simply by applying pressure with my hands to push down on the lid while in operation.
Answer: I find that when this happens it's because the seal was flawed in the first place. Perhaps the fault lies with your vacuum sealer. Now I test each seal, and redo it if it doesn't seem to be adequate. I haven't had any problems since.

One trick I do is seal the end of the bag while still on the roll. Once sealed (heat seal) then cut the bag to length, load with product then vacuum and seal... Does that make sense to you? The rolls are just open ended rolls. The sealer unit is used to seal and suck the air out of bags.

I am a single person and it is difficult to cook for one person. I usually cook enough for several meals and freeze them in single servings with the vacuum seal product. I know there will be no freezer burn regardless of how long the food stays in the freezer. This product is great! Now, understand that they are much too big to fit in my Foodsaver 5800 series vacu-sealer. All you need is a piece of tape, either a cardboard roll from a Foodsaver bag roll or a paper towel roll, and a little patience. Simply tape the end of the large roll to the cardboard roll, and roll up enough to fit into your vacu-sealer. Then cut off the roll and use! Eventually (and it does take a LONG time as these rolls are huge!), you'll be able to fit the roll into your machine. The bags themselves are identical to the high-priced ones, and the only difference that I can see is there are no white areas to write on.........If that's a deal breaker for you, then by all means, spend more money!

These vacuum bag rolls work very well. I love making bags to the size needed & will definitely buy again. The roll was too big to fit in my machines holder but I just draped the roll over the back of the machine to cut each bag needed. Someone else said they cut the roll into three which worked nicely for them. I love having a big roll so I don’t mind using an easy work around. They work well for heating up sealed leftovers in hot water & the look like they will hold nicely in the freezer. These bags work great & are great quality so I plan to purchase again when needed. I highly recommend this product.

Seems to be exactly as specified. Not quite as nice as the brand name "cut your own" bag material, but considerably less expensive. The extra length is kind of annoying to deal with: Standard holders and cutters don't work. They should offer something for that purpose

These are decent bags the quality is pretty good just watch packaging anything with bones cause it can poke holes when shrink wrapping had few areas that had pinholes don't know if it's from manufacturing of caused in handling but there decent bags.

I have used these Avid armor bags five times now, and I cannot tell a difference between them and the name brand. One side is textured and one side smooth, just like the name brand. As you can see by the pictures, the cheese is in the name brand and the chicken is in the Avid armor brand. Great product, Great price. Highly recommend Avid armor rolls for storing food. Will definitely be buying again.The only difference I see is that the name brand has it's name on it and the Avid armor brand is clear.

I'm ready to order another round of these bags. They are nice and heavy with good air channeling in them and also a smooth side that you can write the packaging date on the bag. Great for reuse on items that are smaller. Just wash them in hot soapy water, rinse and dry. Ready for another use.

These are great, not too thick that they are hard to seal and thick enough that they are durable. I think the mistake a lot of people make is getting the area of the seal wet when they are inserting the food. Roll about 2" down in a cuff and unroll after you put your food in so you don't contaminate that area and get a great seal everytime

I routinely make 120# of tomatoes into sauce and freeze it. This plastic seems thick and seals well. I just wish that it had marks on the edge that would help me cut a straight line (like Seal a Meal rolls).
