How deep is the basket of the net?

Answer: The depth of the basket is approximately 10 inches.

Answer: This is a good all around net for fresh water fishing. It will suit my fly fishing both lake and river. It will do just fine for my spinner rig. Pike might not fit. Big big catfish and pike and such will require a larger net. It is for me just the perfect size and weight.

Answer: Approximately 16 inches if I made a giess. Plenty to land fish, well made?

Answer: Probably 8-9 inches

The two pictures show two different style nets, two different hole sizes. Which is current and correct? anyone have the actual measurement of depth?

Answer: My net has 3/4” holes on bottom and 1/2” holes on sides. The depth of the net is 10”. This is a great net. It is way better than I expected. I netted many brookies with no issues. Has held up well. It seems to be well made. I love the rubber netting, helps prevent hook snags.

Answer: The depth of the Net is just under 11 inches.

Does this net have a square or round mesh? Please post a better picture of the mesh.

This net arrived with several obvious quality control issues right out of the box. Most importantly, the rubber netting is not properly molded in the center, as you can see in the photo. The result is an odd gnarled patch of rubber right at the center, where the weight of the fish will be greatest. No question that this would harm the fish's scales -- thus defeating the purpose of a rubber net in the first place.

Secondly, the finish on the handle is unevenly applied and already peeling, as the second photo shows. These two potential hazards are the antithesis of what an environmentally conscious angler wants to practice on the water. I would recommend avoiding this product until these production issues can be fixed.
