Are these good to fish with a light spinning rod and reel?

Answer: Flies are always difficult to cast on spinning rods and reels, with out weight. Also being a fly you may not get the proper presentation of the fly to get a fish to strike it by using regular fishing line vs the fly line and leader.

Answer: an interesting way to present a wet fly with a spinning rig, is to remove the hooks from a small crank bait, and tie the fly(s) to the eyelets, and let them trail behind the crankbait. usually 8-16inches is good. the trout will take notice of the crankbait,lose interest and then see the fly and hit it. looks odd, but its an effective technique.

Nice little case, but we are missing 5 of the forty flies. For a twelve year old boy who did al the ordering, researched all the reviews and decided this was what he wanted, $18.00 is a big deal for him to spend, and then find out a significant number are missing. It isn't worth the money to send them back, so we will keep what we have. It was just a disappointment for him.

I'd like to start off by saying these flies work. In the last 3 weeks that I've had them I've fished at least 8 different lakes and a couple of rivers. In that time I've caught Rainbows, a ton of brooks, and a couple of goldens with them.
Please take note on a couple of things. While the hooks used are okay, they are little on the cheap side; with this being said I was still able to catch several fish, but I feel like a missed a few strikes I wouldn't have with some of my other flies. The color of the flies is true to what the picture shows and they seem to hold up pretty well for about 10 fish, until some of the wings start deforming or falling off.
Odds are I will buy these again if need be. For the money they are a steal, and as I said before they will catch fish. Oh, and you'll get a nice little case with these as well.
