For ultimate durability in saltwater, we would suggest a reel with high density gears and High performance corrosion resistant bearings .

Answer: Nah ... Even after you wash it with freshwater it starts to corrode.

Answer: I change the screws to stainless steel. I have 3 Okuma reels - I only fish salt water and they work fine.

A lot more bigger than than described, way too big!

not a smooth feeling reel but if you consider the price i feel like it was worth the money. I will use it for catfish only reel and it seems suited good enough for that purpose.
