Award-Winning BladeLight Fillet Knife

SOG's first fishing specific knife is most definitely a keeper. This new member of the award-winning BladeLight family features a 7.5-inch fillet knife accompanied by six intensely bright LED lights (three on each side of the blade). The lights, with an output of 30 lumens, will make fish cleaning or bait cutting in the dying hours of the day so much easier. It could help find the way to the boat launch or mooring. The fixed blade is anchored to a glass reinforced nylon handle. One AAA battery (included) will provide more than two hours of burn time for the LED lights. That's a lot of fish cleaning.

Blade Specifications

The BladeLight knife has an overall length of 12.5 inches and a 7.5-inch blade made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. This blade has a straight edge that cuts cleanly and sharpens easily. Weighing in at just 3.5 ounces, the BladeLight is also lightweight with an attractive satin finish and maximum run time of 2.3 hours.

Ergonomic, Lightweight Design

It's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from glass-reinforced nylon with a rubber over mold, the textured handle is also slip-free and well-balanced.

Answer: Yes it is.

Is this knife made in the usa. How does it compare to gerber

Answer: The knife is made in China, however the steel is fantastic. In my opinion it blows the gerber away.
