Questions about Berkley Gulp! Alive! Minnow Fishing Soft Bait
Q:
Are they in a pack or a container?
Answer: Depends on the packaging. If it says number, like 18 then, it is a pack. If it says oz then, it's a container.
Q:
These baits are in a plastic bag or a bottle/bucket with recharging fluid?
Answer: Plastic bucket with recharging liquid. Carry plastic to wrap over once opened cause they leak
Answer: If it says “Alive” then it’s a jar. Once I open the jar I put them in a ‘specimen’ jar. They won’t leak the fluid like the original container will.
Q:
How many baits are in the bucket?
Answer: I am not sure of the number but more then 20 if u buy 2.5 or 3 inchers and since most of the time if u know how to hook them correctly they last more casts then you would think and they work amazing I catch trophy trout which is at least 20" 5lbs all the time with them
Answer: There is a bunch of them. I am still using mine after a year. Everything eats them. I have caught a bunch of different species of fish. I would say at least 40 or maybe more. I use them with a slip bobber rig.
Answer: I have used these for the last year now. Too many to count
Q:
How many 2.5” baits come in the 6.9 oz container?
Q:
What jig head should I get for the 4in?
Answer: Depends on what your fishing for. I use 1/16 and 1/8 with 6# line. You can go bigger depending test of your line.
Q:
i thought i was purchasing the larger size for 16. 96 but got a 12 pack count. is this correct?
Answer: Probably not - you must be very careful when purchasing Gulp on line - it all depends on the seller - I have seen very high prices on products on sites like Amazon where the seller is hoping the buyer has no idea what the cost should be - you might have to pay more for a popular color at times but on average I have found that Gulps costs about $1 each or so do not pay more than that - you will find better prices depending on where and when you shop
Q:
Hi, we're looking to purchase 3000 - 4000 rubber fish. 3in - 4in size. we're wondering if you could give us a deal for a large purchase? thank you!
Q:
How many per containter or package?
Answer: Package usually says. I think it is 18. About the container, I don't know, but it's a lot...like 50 or so.
Q:

Q:
Anyone try them in saltwater? i got the Black Shad and it says freshwater only.
Q:
How many of the 3" firetiger minnows are in a pint?
Q:
How many are in a pack ?
Q:
Is this one pint or a half pint
Answer: Its neither. The description indicates that the 3 inch Gulp is 11.2 ounces and the 4 inch Gulp is 12 ounces so both are 3/4 of a pint which is 16 ounces or a little less than 3/4 of a pint for the 3 inch.
Answer: It's a Pint
Q:
Very hard to find numbers. Does anyone know how many are in the 12oz. container Smelt 4"? The retail packs are 8 each for $5.96.

Q:

Q:
Do these float or sink by themselves? And what weight leadjig head do you use for the 2 1/2"? Thanks.
Answer: The bait Will not sink without a jig head. I usually use 1/8 ounce to a quarter ounce jig head
Answer: They sink slowly. I usually use from 2grams (jig head) up to 6 grams (jig head and removable split shot). I try to get a natural presentation under the water and if I put a 6gram jig head straight, looks odd. I caught many kinds with this one. Good Luck!
Answer: They will sink slowly. I use a 1/16 oz for crappie but have also caught a lot of bass with the same set up
Q:
Is it for saltwater use?
Answer: yes
Q:
How many 2.5”or 3” baits come in the 6.9 oz container?
Product reviews of Berkley Gulp! Alive! Minnow Fishing Soft Bait
Bruce Snyder : Pretty much any fish that eat minnows
They work well for crappies and bluegills. Pretty much any fish that eat minnows. And I don't have to go and get any live bait. Perfect!!
Shawney M. Schnabel : Five Stars
Great for surf fishing also....
Brandon S. : Great bait for catching walleye
I fish for walleye regularly and these minnows are pretty much all I use. I have tried other lures and baits and have never found anything that works as well as these. I have caught Walleye, Large and Small mouth Bass with this bait. I usually rig them with a jig head and bounce them off the bottom but you can rig them several different ways. Most of my other plastics are super soft and fall apart easily but these minnows seem to hold up well; I only go through maybe 1 or 2 during several hours of fishing. Fish can occasionally bite the tails off, especially if they have teeth, but it is rare in my experience.
These are very strong smelling baits, so be careful not to spill any of the juice on your clothes or boat because you will smell it for awhile. The only problem I have run into is when you leave the lure on your hook. The first time I used these minnows I left one on my pole overnight and the next day it had shriveled down and covered my hook in a thick plastic lump that I had to cut off. Be sure to take off the minnow and either throw it away of put it back in the bucket after use. I always make sure I have a supply of Gulp Alive minnows with me when I go fishing.
JoshLong I-E : Donnie C. 21" Trophy Brown Trout--May 15 2017-- Trophy Trout Waters
Excellent for trophy trout! Smelt 3"
Mark : Very few gulp baits
Thought you'd get more actual baits. Very disappointed.
If you want the juice then this is for you.
If you want more baits then this is not.
Leanna : Great for blue gill but not tight cover seal
The water gook stuff the fake minnows are in sometimes leaks in my tackle box. Blue gills love these things though. Alright product. Look alright. Stand out well enough in the water. Pretty light and short. Use hook 2-6 size. No aught hooks clearly.

Nikolaos Roussos : It works!!!
It works as promised! If you can't catch any fish by using these baits it might mean 2 things: a) There are no fishes in this spot or b) you are doing something else wrong. I've been using the last couple of months in the Caribbean sea and in Mediterranean sea...I had people around me try to catch fish with different methods (fly, hard baits, spinners). I was the only one catching when everyone else failed!
Amazon Customer : Awesome
Works fantastic on all species of fish
Ben : Five Stars
Works as well as the fisherman using it.
Marco casss : Don't want money back just please replace same only saltwater
Ordered the wrong kind, I need salt water bait not freshwater, need to return n replace all freshwater product I received

david : Five Stars
caught my biggest walleye jigging these
Dave : great bait
works like a charm
mik : Garbage
Not real gulp. Or if they are they’re expired, bought at Dicks Sporting in plastic gulp bag and they are soft and life like swimming through the water. Not a plastic stick like these are. Buyer Beware
NorCal209 : It catches fish foresure!!!
Caught plenty of bass so far.......can’t wait till crappie season to try this plastic!!!!!

R & L : Are You Kidding Me .
They shorted me about 1/2 of a container of minnows. It doesn't come packed in tight or even loose . It comes with like 20 maybe . It's not like the photo at all. It looks like over half were stolen. Not good for what I paid for them . In English , Ripped off !!!!!! Again. You'd think they would of filled it , but it's not even close . this really does suck.

Angela J. Castiglione : Better than anthing ever used before
My whole family loves to fish and being that we lives by several lakes, fishing has been an enjoyment for us all.
My son heard about using Gulp for bait and decided to purchase them.
They work great and if the fish don't eat them, they can be used over and over, saving quite a bit of money as you do not have to buy live bait.
We have caught several fish and will be using Gulp bait from now on.
JoshLong I-E : and brooks all day long they are amazing and if you but then in a bucket instead ...
I live in Elk County Pa and we have the Clarion River here and there is a section of it located in this county that is catch-n-release trophy trout water and I use mainly the Smelt color of these Berkley alive to catch 20 and 25 " plus browns...rainbows...and brooks all day long they are amazing and if you but then in a bucket instead of a packet after a few cast you can re-dip it if you feel you need to . I use them in heavy current. I hook them just like a live minnow with a needle and a treble hook towards the end of the minnow! I would recommend them to anyone who wants to catch big trout I use 3" myself but 2.5" works pretty well as well! The other colors I have little use for I have tried an sorted tub but ended up using all the smelts and trying to use the other colors but ended up buying a few packets and taking every color that was not smelt from the bucket and adding the ones from the packets to the bucket to infuse them with the attractant! GO TEAM BLOOD TRAIL
David Stuthard : Worth The Money
These Berkley Gulp Alive minnows look and feel like the real thing. It's a bait that can be fished different ways and I have caught different species of fish like crappie, largemouth, and small-mouth. I know they seem a little pricey, but they are worth the money.
Awwex : Berkley 12.8 Oz Bucket Gulp! Alive! 2 1/2" Minnow, Emerald Shiner
good product, comes scented, havent caught anyhting with em' but hey thats why they call it fishing and not catching!
Kevin Scott : Awesome bait for Bass and large Trout!
The Gulp Alive 4 inch minnows arrive in the Gulp Alive scent attractant bucket that allows you to recharge your baits by putting them back in. They absorb more Gulp scent and attractant than ever before and have much better swimming action than original Gulp minnows in the past. With more attractant and better action these lures make for a great fishing trip every time. Most important is that to the fish they still taste like natural food so they bite and hold on tight allowing for great hook sets. Baits are easily kept in the storage container and require not additional care, you just take them out when your ready put them on a jig head and they are ready to fish. I have caught countless numbers of fish with these and I am very happy with the product. Thanks Berkley for another great fishing product!
•Non-perishable, does not require refrigeration.
•Preserves natural shape and swimming action.
•Releases 400 times the scent as plastic baits.
•Disperses potent scent and flavor. Like a blood trail in the water.
•Recharge bait by placing back into attractant filled bucket.
