Can you use this in the salt water in what would you catch

Answer: Yes, you can. I live in NYC and here this would catch stripers and bluefish and other topwater species.

Answer: In my experience Heddon makes 2 lengths of this type of lure - small and large if you will..

Answer: Mine are 3 1/2". If bought and fishing for reds be sure to garbage the 3rd rate treble hooks and replace with ones rated 3x or 4x in size 2.

This lure dives in the water. Other spooks I get from Heddon are good. But this thing tries to submerge itself. I can't get a good cadence going because it just dives every time I start trying to walk it.

Edit: it seems that the hooks were the issue. I switched out the hooks to lighter inline hooks and the issue was resolved. Will change review from 1 star to 3 stars because the lure works well but I shouldn't have to change the hooks out for it to work as designed.

These things are "killers". Heddon always makes quality lures. Can't go wrong with this manufacturer. Every time you see a professional guide "catching them up" while you're skunked, there's only a few things that make the difference. Heddon is one. After you get the "location, location, location" down, then it's: time, temp, tide, etc. If they don't hit on one color, try another. Always a quality product. Give a quick rinse after salt water, of course, but these are so far above the cheapies, it's not funny. Don't skimp. It's not worth it.

La forma es bonita, el tamaño es adecuado... Pero no pesa absolutamente nada... Para pesca de orilla no sirve pues no alcanzas buena distancia por lo ligero que es...
Segundo; el arillo para pasar el líder está en lavado en el cuerpo del señuelo casi completamente, y la concavidad de la trompa del poper hace que sea casi imposible pasar el aro del seguro del líder por allí, tuve k usar pinzasy doblar el alambrito, lo bueno k lo hize una noche antes, si hubiese tenido k hacerlo en la playa olvidenlo, no hubiese podido.

Yo mismo customize el Popper, le añadí una cola con hilos sujetados con un alambre para que le diera algo de peso... En gral. Producto mediocre.

I love fishing these. It’s become my favorite top water lure. I don’t think color really matters. I keep an eye on them and when I can get one less than $8 I order it. I’ve used bone color the most but recently used chartreuse/silver, and bone/silver. I have caught a ton of fish on all of them.
