The description says it includes hose barb fittings and an inlet strainer for after market models. How do I know if it's an aftermarket model?

Answer: I've purchased two of these pumps and they've both come with an inline strainer. I wouldn't install one without it.

Does pump come wired ?

Answer: Yes it does with a positive and negative just wire into your existing 12 volt system plenty of pressure everywhere on my 42 foot trawler 2 heads and showers galley sink all at the same time

Answer: It has 2 wires (red/black) to connect to your 12v system if that's what you are asking. I used this to replace an existing pump so it was very easy to splice in the wiring.

Answer: Information seems to vary, but the consensus says between 45 and 60 PSI.

Based from the description. With this pump, you wouldn't need an accumulator?

Answer: We are on a 1988 Island Packet 38 and have never had an accumulator with this pump and it works just fine.

Is it loud? How noisy is it?

Answer: You hear it but it isn't as loud as my old SHURFLO.

Answer: You can hear the pump when it cycles on and off but I would not describe it as noisy. In fact I like to be able to hear it go on and off so that if it does not shut off and continues to run you can hear it and can investigate the reason. For example if you run out of water in the tank or if the pressure switch goes bad.

Answer: No, it is not loud if properly installed on a firm surface, ensuring the rubber mounts dampen any vibration. Mine is mounted in an insulated engine room but even if I'm in the engine room and it kicks in it is not loud.

Answer: Mine is installed under my sailboat floorboards. It is quieter than the Jabsco that was replaced. There is still some sound from it which can be helpful to let you know if you have a system leak.

We live aboard our boat full time. These as well as other brands all use the same pressure switch which fails after a few months. Don’t buy the switch from the pump manufacturer. They’re $3.00 online elsewhere. I changed out to a stand alone pressure switch and solved the problem. Use a LeFoo pressure switch available on Amazon. Other than that it’s a great pump

FMD : Doest not shut off and drains the batteries.

I have been through five pumps so far, two 4GPH and three five GPH, all purchased and replaced by West Marine. The Shurflo Aqua King II is semi- variable flow pump using a pressure bypass valve to shunt water from the outlet to the inlet when water demand is less than the pump capacity. Unfortunately, the design of the pumps allow the bypass to stay slightly open the pumps run until the batteries are dead. At first I thought this might be a poor adjustment from the factory and returned the pump for a new one, yet five pumps and months of time all the pumps have the exact same problem. If you like constant running pumps and dead batteries this is the pump for your boat.

It shipped fast. I was without water only a few days. We hooked it up same day we received it. And we were back in business. I love this thermally protected, sealed switch with a sealed motor especially near the saltwater. My last shurflo lasted 9 years! Hope this one does the same!

This pump is very quiet, smooth and powerful. Too bad it only lasted 2 months.

Update: actually, it was my bad that the pump stoped working. Had to work out a short circuit. Anyways, this bad lil’ pump has been AMAZING! It’s so quiet and smooth and reliable.
