Answer: Yes they are BPA free according to the packaging.

Will the handheld foodsaver seal these bags

Answer: The foodsaver will seal just about any bag, vacuum bag or not. The question is... Is the vacuum bag of good quality to allow air to be drawn out? I have had some non-foodsaver bags/rolls seal off before vacuum could be drawn. So, I would say yes to your question but, be cautious of quality and read reviews of other's experience. Answer: I do not know. I do not have the product any longer to look it up. Lately I do not buy products that do not have a specific and descriptive information including the manufacturer and location of the product. I find it wrong that amazon lets some company get away from not including a detailed information of the product and where it comes from. To answer your question I do not remember I usually avoid products made in China. But everything comes from China, what doesn’t?

Answer: Yes, they are made in China, but my guess is so are FoodSaver bags. I am not impressed. They don't hold a vacuum seal. You need to reseal the bottom of the bag then they do better. Although much cheaper than FoodSaver bags, in this case you get what you pay for. I double seal the bottom seal and use them for sous vide cooking and then toss them. I don't use them for freezer storage. Hope this helps.

It is the perfect size for the food I have in my refrigerator. I bought a vacuum sealer and was trying to find bags that wouldn't take up to much space in my refrigerator and could also hold a large amount of food, these bags doesn't take up to much space and also is very thick which protects the food very well.

I tried 8 bags and not one would let my food saver vacuum the air out. Each of the 8 bags got three to ten attempts each. I checked against real food saver bag - it worked on first try.

I am a food saver maniac. I have one small dog that can only eat broiled chicken and rice, so I buy and use these bags and I put in the bulk chicken breasts in each bag and freeze them. So I always have fresh chicken to thaw then broil on hand. I also buy 5 lbs of hamburger and put about 2/3 pound hamburger in each bag and freeze for later use (there is only 2 of us) . I also buy the larger bags and make burger patties with seasonings in those. So I always have some on hand, to thaw out for a dinner. I make up BIG batches of spagetti or chili and freeze the leftovers. I do mark the dates on the bags.

The only thing I found "wrong" with these bags is not a big deal other than it annoys my OCD child very much. The notches for the tear points are on the bottom of the bag instead of the top. Yes, I know it sounds nit-picky and they bags work wonderfully. Just wanted to give a heads up to people that this might bother. Me personally I don't care. Does not affect in any way the quality or value.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that it's narrower than the corresponding Food Saver bag...Since I use a particular set of containers to flash freeze food before sealing, I'm having a bit of trouble squishing it into these narrow bags. Once I readjusted my method, they were fine. Well worth the money for the amount of savings from band name.

I have been using similair bags for a long time but anything that seems to not be perfectly soft pokes holes in these bags . I am going to have to purchase new bags just to seal some reasonably soft beef jerky.

Great bags for the money! Way cheaper than the main brands in stores and work just the same, maybe even better as sometimes the food saver can’t get a vacuum in time and have to redo each bag multiple times. Never had that issue with these!

I use these all the time wet aging meat in my fridge and sous vide. I've had a few bags leak in the sous vide, but I take some responsibility that those instances were 24hr cooking and I should have double sealed it. The small bags will fit a chicken breast and not much else.

Thickness is good, size is great. As far as the white strip for writing, I don’t use them so I don’t miss it. I write on the top strip above the seal, so if I want to reuse the bag a second time I can. Just have to make sure they are sanitized.

Aside from the markings on the bag, I would not be able to tell the difference between these bags and name brand foodsaver bags. They work great!
