This afternoon I sealed up some of the large bags of grain and flour I have (having purchased large bags during the pandemic). Having never sealed grains before I was having some trouble, spilling the contents of the bag when I lay it down to seal. My daughter, who is a chef, came to my aid. She says she has sealed hundreds of bags and just about everything. The restaurant where she works vacuum seals everything to keep it as fresh as possible. While she was helping me she commented on how good the quality of these bags are. She uses them for sous vide, and some bags are definitely better than others. She was impressed with the quality of these bags. They are thick. They worked well with the vacuum sealer, and I am sure she will be using some for sous vide. Not all of the bags we have are suitable, and these are among the best.

These work as well as any other types of these that I have used. Shorter than what I normally get in length. But I nice array of widths for different things. Doesn't give me any issues with my sealer.

So far these bags are working out well. The items that I vacuum sealed a few weeks ago are still sealed. The rolls are only 10 ft. Which isn’t a lot if you’re a heavy user like me. I used up the 11” roll after grocery runs to Costco, and the grocery store, and am halfway through the 10” roll. These would be more economical for heavy users if the rolls were longer. Well suited for those who don't seal bulk items or Sous vide on a regular basis.

I've used a FoodSaver for the past 12 years, and simply love it. Or, I should I say, I LOVED it. I thought I was getting a real deal with these rolls of sealer, and when I cut a piece, it seemed to be just like the FoodSaver rolls. But when I attempted to seal the first end before putting my meat into the bag, the plastic MELTED! It melted onto the sealing strip, smoke came out, it took me over 10 minutes to get the bag to release. And when it did, the plastic had become so hot it permanently sealed onto the plastic around the sealer strip. So badly, in fact, that I can't even open the machine to see what damage was done inside, it sealed my machine tight! I am SO MAD! I thought I was saving a few bucks on sealing bags, and now I have to buy a new FoodSaver! Do NOT purchase this stuff, it is total XXXX! And dangerous as all heck, I guess I should be thankful that it didn't actually catch on fire. So, to save a few pennies, I now have to spend another $150-200 for a new sealer! Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!!!
tonymcc : Should Work in Any Vacuum Machine
These make great bags. They're textured, meaning they should work in any vacuum machine. Chamber vacuums don't need the textured bags, but these will still work. Other vacuum machines use the textured bags to allow air flow. Just cut to size, seal one end to make a bag, and you're ready to go.
