will this work with 3/8" chain?

Answer: Yes, it works with a 3/8" to 5/8" chain.

Answer: I'm not sure if it would or not, HOWEVER, you wouldn't normally pull the chain up through it just the line and then stop. So you would connect the line to the chain after running the line through the anchorLift. They do work really slick!

Answer: I do not think it will hold up with chain. It is designed for rope.

Answer: The puller only slides up and down the rope.The puller doesn't slide over the chain, but will stop at the 5 ft chain I have attached between the rope and the anchor.

how do you lower and raise anchor.... not very clear to me. 150' rope and 20# anchor with 4 ft of chain?

Answer:

Answer: You lower the anchor manually. The chain on the anchor is to help give it weight so it digs in, and doesn't get cut or wore out like rope would. The anchor lift should be attached to a bout, and you can pull the anchor with the boats power. The anchor lift lets line come in but doesn't let I go out because the roller pin pinches the line. So you can hand line in just the rope because your anchor will be lifted and floating right below the bouy

Will this work with leaded line to pull shrimp pots?

Answer: I am not sure., out work good for anchor, for sure.

Is the bolt and nut with neoprene that attach the puller to the buoy included? The picture hides the view.

Answer: Yes the eyebolt, nut and washers are included with the AnchorLift. However, there is no neoprene.

Do you have to hold the bolt open to lower the anchor? Seems hard with heavy anchor.

Answer: Hold the AnchorLift in your hand with the bolt in the up position as you let out the anchor line. The Anchor line will run smoothly through the AnchorLift.

Pulley stops at the chain not at the anchor. How is this easier? Will i be pulling the weight of the anchor if i use 5 feet chain?

Answer: When using with lengths of chain - we recommend using our Anchor RING system, which allows the chain to slide through, rather than the AnchorLift system. Otherwise, you will be pulling the weight of the chain + Anchor. In most cases, we suggest the ring when you have 10 or more feet of chain. If you are using chain .. the weight of the chain (with the Anchor Ring) must be at least the weight of the anchor as a counter weight when you are pulling up the anchor. At some point, you will need to lift either one, as neither system picks the chain / anchor out of the water.

Sadly we’ve only had one opportunity to use the lifter so far this season . Happily , it worked exactly as we expected - it certainly beats having to lift an anchor from 170 ft in Lake Superior .

Sturdy works well no problems. I've put it through the paces and had no problems yet holds up well. I tortured tested it with a stuck Crab trap and pulling as hard as my outboard could and it didn't break.

Used the rope size suggested. Does not slide down the anchor line when used according to the instructions. Also the size was different than the one shown on amazon which was 13". Works only as a buoy and not an anchor lift.

It's small (but that's perfect for my 14' beer can), I haven't bothered trying to power pull my anchor. No need really. But it works for getting off anchor to go chase a big Salmon. Little frustrating getting the 2 lb's of air in it...

This thing look like it was made out of two pieces of plastic, it is very rough at the splice inside right down the middle which will destroy your line within a couple of years. I wont say dont buy it, we dont have many choices, my review is more for the manufacturer to note-why cant it be smooth inside??
