Answer: My brother fishes saltwater a good bit and is much better at it than me. He swears by the shrimp for salt and freshwater. I use for bass with good success.

Answer: I did not notice any stain on my lures. At the end of the day I always wash my lures with dawn lemon or non-scent. They seem to be fine. Bucktail?????

Answer: I don't know about the halibut, but also salmon and squid.

Answer: I have had luck using Lunker Lotion with salmon and other species, and actually think that you can use it anywhere, anytime. No experience with halibut, sorry.

I usually never post reviews, but this one deserves my attention. As a fisherman I like having an edge while fishing (or like to think this will help catch more fish), bought this thinking it'll help when I'm using various lures. Opened the bottle smelled fishy A+. I placed the bottle face up in my side pocket of my tackle bag. Before any fishing trip I check my bag before I go. I took the bottle out of my bag to find it completely soaked in its own juices covering my sunglasses, couple spools of fluro line, and measuring tape. I thought ok maybe I didn't tighten the lid on correctly or a stray hook pierced the bottle. I checked it thoroughly, nothing. I decided to place the bottle in a ziploc baggy for extra protection and placed my tackle box and inside in a closet, maybe the temperature made the juice leak due to heat pressure. Once again the bottle leaked all over the place... nope not worth salvaging this. Do not know if I got a faulty bottle or not. Waste of time and money.

Put it to the test several times by first throwing out power bait with out Mike's on it. No bites. Reeled in, applied mikes and within seconds got bites.. Did that experiment over and over through out the day and always caught trout with Mike's on the bait. It works great for stocked trout. This stuff works!
