Answer: As long as you stack the trays appropriately (smooth side facing up, ridges facing down) I don't think there is necessarily a specific bottom tray. I've mismatched the order of the trays and my dehydrated materials always came out the same way. Hope this helps!

Answer: I'm not sure in inches but here's my feedback. This Christmas I cut up and processed a Deer hind 1/4 for jerky. I just purchased this machine and purchased two extra shelves to go with it. It's HUGE. I separated the jerky into two batches of 2.5 lbs of marinated sliced meat per batch. When I went to start the 1st batch I realized how big this thing was and put ALL 5 lbs of meat on it at one time. 5 hours later this huge batch was done and ready to eat. In a nutshell, this thing is huge and drys like a boss!

Answer: I’ve been told it’s a max of 12 trays on all presto models but really slows drying time and you have to rotate tray every hr or so. Not hard to do or anything but, honestly when you buy the extra 8 trays at $40. You can buy another dehydrator. For same money but still just have 8 trays total as each comes with 4 trays, or at least mine did.

Answer: with mine I got 2 solid trays for fruit and 2 mesh trays for small stuff. I bought more solid sheets, mesh trays and a couple more regular trays. I do a lot of herbs and use them a lot. Hope this helps. Just a note, if you use this dehydro, put a piece of parchment paper cut in a circle on the bottom of the unit. Make sure to cut a circle out for the air, it saves a lot of clean up even though it is easy to clean, the paper just helps.

I would anticipate that all home-use dehydrators function under similar conditions of air flow and temperature. The restriction of airflow would be more influenced by how the trays were loaded with food to be dehydrated.

I purchased these extra racks for my Presto Dehydro 06300. They look very similar to the rest of the racks, but are not quite molded the same way, so they don't lock into place on top of the racks that came with the dehydrator. As a result, the whole thing is very unstable when in use and I'm worried it will tip over. I'm pretty disappointed in my purchase.

Bought the extra trays to go with the presto dehydrator, #6300. Four came with the unit, it's usually enough, but occasionally I have used the additional but find it takes quite a bit longer to dry the foods when I use 6 rather than the 4.

Not much to say, it fits with my existing trays. If I were to have any complaint, it's that they are difficult to wash in most modern size kitchen sinks or dishwashers because of their size, but it's worth the extra effort it takes to clean because you can fit lots of product on these trays to dry.

These trays fit well with my presto dehydrator. Remember... these trays can melt/bend when dish-washed with the wrong setting.

They are exactly like the type that came with your machine. They're the same manufacturer, after all. Not the easiest thing to clean in the world, but not terribly difficult either. Make sure you have a plan on how you're going to clean them though. It's a non-trivial issue.

I order two sets of trays one had a slight warping after loading them with food and placing it on the bottom the warp evened out and was gone after the first dehydration run not so easy to clean a small brush is needed to large to wash in a full size dishwasher but overall I’m happy with it because I can dry small or large amounts by removing or adding extra trays

These food trays are the same model that came with my Presto 06301 so they fit perfectly and serve their purpose of expanding capacity. I took two stars off because they are extremely overpriced. For the price of six trays you could buy a second new 06301 with six trays included.

This fit my presto dehydrator perfectly! My fiancé bought one for me to dehydrate fruit & it came with some trays but there wasn’t enough room for all that I was doing. Great price. Great product. It should come with a small thin tool though to lift the product or like small tweezers.
