Will this work with the Aimpoint T1?

Answer: I have read that this combination works well. I use the G33 with an EOTech EXPS3-0, but want to put a T-1 (actually the new T-2, better optics) on another rifle for its light weight, but love the G33 magnifier. So I am considering this pairing as well. You may want to do a few searches on dedicated sites like ar15.com and m4carbine.net for some "expert" opinions.

Answer: I have an aimpoint pro and the rail on my colt 6920 is not long enough to mount the g33 without removing the rear MBUS. That being said, I have heard others say you should stick with the same manufacturer when it comes to magnifiers, such as eotech with eotech and aimpoint with aimpoint. Otherwise there may be alignment issues. That is a lot of money to spend if the magnifier doesn't properly align with your HWS. Hope that helps.

Answer: This is simply a magnifier, therefore parallax doesn't come into play with it. The best picture, full circle, is at about 2" however, it's about the comfort of the shooter really.

Does the magnifier have an ambidextrous hinge? Can it be flipped to the left side?

Answer: It is recommended to flip it to the left due to flying brass. You have to rotate the mount 180 degrees and screw the magnifier down to the mount to be able to flip it to the other side though. You cannot flip it to both sides without remounting the optic.

Answer: I had this problem as well being that my AR is left handed. You can not flip the hinge. But you can mount the scope backwards for lack of a better word so that it flips over to the left side. You just have to mount the magnifier a little bit further back but I have no problems when doing so. It's still very clear and accurate.

Will it work with an Eotech 512?

Answer: It should. It is somewhat height adjustable with a shim (that comes with it), so it works with the XPS-2 and the EXPS2. I don't see why you couldn't use it with the 512.

Answer: Yes it will, but I would recommend using the 517 or 556. The button controls are on the side with those models where the 512 controls are on the back.

Answer: Oh definitely. As long as the sight image is not in a radically different spot that is not lined up with the magnifier, it should be fine. Heck, I have my set about six inches forward of my magnifier (would have to wear glasses to shoot, otherwise) and it works fine.

Answer: Sure. The magnifier isn't EoTech specific. It will work with any optic, provided that the mount puts it at the same height as the magnifier. This one comes with a spacer that allows you to mount it at two different heights. It matches the two heights of EoTech bases perfectly, but it'll work with other brands with similarly-tall bases.

Answer: it is basically a 3X magnification no matter what distance you are shooting. so, for instance, a 100 yard shot will appear in the magnifier as about 33 yards...

When this is flipped over to the side does it get in the way of the ejected brass?

Answer: No. With it folded over it is above and behind the path of ejected cases.

Answer: No, I used it with two different semi auto rifles and never had this problem. I guess that it would depend on the gun you use. If the ejected brass already come back in your face when you use a gun, then, the flipped scope might also find itself in the way.

Answer: I have never had an issue with brass hitting it. I have a rear flip as far back as I can put it and the g33 directly in front of that so it's pretty far back. But like I said, I've never had brass hit mine.

Answer: Doesn't on my DDM4. I'd bet L3/Eotech did plenty of testing prior to launch and I haven't seen any feedback indicating a problem. I never used one but I think the previous 'twist to side' models would stick out further over the ejection port and I never heard anything about them causing ejection issues either so you're good to go. I use mine with an XPS2 and it also works like a champ withy Aimpoint T-1. Side note: As a photographer I appreciate the quality of the glass in this unit.

Answer: Diopter is for the background. The reticle projects at the plane your eye is focussed on already due to the magic of holographic projection. The reticle will always be in focus (or at least as much in focus as it ever is, they're naturally a little fuzzy), you need only focus on the target.

Answer: This is the most current generation of magnifier and mount offered by EOTech. It replaced the G23.FTS.

Answer: Yes you can, you just need to ensure your mount for the Vortex is the right height. The magnifier comes with a spacer, it should be good to use with either a 1/3 co witness sight or a absolute co witness height sight.

Answer: It locks in place both ways with a tension spring. And yes, it does stay in line. The holographic sight stays where you dialed it in. The magnifier just makes the recticle and the sight picture bigger. Its impractically heavy, but a cool piece of hardware none the less.

Answer: It's locked in the up position and stays in line. When pushed to the side it's not locked but it's not flopping around either. It stays put until you pull it back up.

Answer: This is for Magnification, so this is the optic you will look through to magnifi your red dot sight.

Answer: No screws are missing. The optic comes with all of the mounting hardware you need in the case, and the only screws are the ones used to affix the magnifier to the mount. There are two lengths: the short ones for attaching directly to the mount, and the long ones to attach to the mount with the 7mm riser in place (to obtain co-witness with a sight with an elevated base). Both sets of screws are included.

The G33 magnifier is precisely what you would expect from EOTech and what you would expect from a magnifier. It's sturdy and easy to use. Clarity of the glass is excellent as is the QD mount. If I had to leverage any complaint against the G33 it would be it's relatively high cost. It's certainly nicer than a Primary Arms magnifier and more compact, but it's also comes with a more substantial price tag.

If magnifiers are your thing, I don't think you can do better than EOTech as the G33 is basically the gold standard for magnifiers.

The Eotech g33 when combined with any Eotech HWS is an awesome combination of precision and reliability. When the g33 is flipped to the side the HWS is used for close range tactical. Then flip the g33 back into operation and you can accurately reach out and touch someone easily at 100+ yards. Definitely worth the money. The g33 turns your carbine into a surgical mid range tool. works great on my eotech red dot..... for the exps 3 needs to add the 7mm shims.... lined up perfect.... my scope would not flip … you have to loosen silver screw on the bottom of the mount...… my red dot was fuzzy …. need to play with the dioper settings to get the dot to be perfect....tried to use it with my trijicon mro…. did not seem to work well... could not get the red dot to focus ….. dot was oblong or two or three dots... could not get to a clear single dot … could only single dot when I had a weird cheek placement on rifle stock.... will try again with the diopter.....

I was very hesitant to buy this. For some odd reason, I did not like the way it "looked" on the rifle. I had been searching for a different optic and when my SWAT team buddy told me they were building some rifles using this setup I took a chance. One trip to the range is all it took to convince me. This thing is great!!! Super easy to install and it is exactly what I need. Paired with an XPS holographic sight, the combo is sweet. Flip it out of the way to engage targets in close then pop it up to reach out a little further. Highly recommend!

Purchased this outside of Amazon. A must to complete your eotech red dot. Buying an EXPS model red dot without the magnifier is silly. If your not buying both, you have an incomplete optic. Quality optics are expensive. If you shop around you can grab both for around $900.00 which makes it the best close quarter optic on the market for the price.

This serves one purpose - close quarters under 300 yards and is designed for the ar15 platform. If your looking to shoot past 300 yards, this is not your optic. Not meant for ar10 or long range calibers.

The EoTech G33 adds more versatility to your firearm which for some a price can't be put on; it allows you to easily and fluidly switch from BUIS/red dot to a magnified optic for whatever need may arise. Could over 400 dollars be spent better elsewhere - probably. (When caught on sale and with EoTech's rebate, the deal is almost too good to pass up). However, if you do go this route, it's hard to top the G33 at anywhere near the pricerange. If you like a red dot setup, don't want to use a dedicated scope, don't want to spend 1.5 thousand on a Trijicon ACOG, but are looking to reliably hit targets at over 100 meters without straining the Mark I eyeball, this fixes your problem with only minimal additional weight and at a cheaper price even with the additional price of a separate red dot included. Eye relief is good, but may take some longer to get accustomed to than others. Sight picture is crystal clear with an excellent field of view. The solid construction keeps up with military and law enforcement abuse, and will keep you confident a bump or accident won't ruin your magnifier, even if after spending the money dropping it gives you a panic attack.

A great addition to my EOTECH EXPS3. A little pricey but well worth it. I like the ability to quickly flip the magnifier to the side to use just the optics for CQB or to co-witness using my flip up sights.

Outstanding product for mid-range targets when used with the EOTech 3-4. Solid construction, seems to hold zero for the same distances. I would like a soft rubber eye cup for the G33 diopter lens on the rear or a flip down dust cover. Haven't been able to locate one, yet. Saw one on a internet video, but can't find it again. Help! I'd recommend this magnifier to all looking for quality.

I ran a G23 magnifier (the previous model) for years in competition, and the G33 is even better. The optic is faster to pick up, with less time spent trying to find the right eye relief even for shooters unfamiliar with the platform it's mounted on. This doesn't make much difference for someone who is experienced with the platform and able to produce a consistent cheek-weld, but makes it easier for even an experienced shooter to get on target when shooting from an awkward position that does not allow a natural stance. The shorter overall length gives you more options about how you place this and other items on the rail, too.

The older mount was spring-loaded, with a small tab to release the catch and allow the magnifier to flip to the side. The new mount doesn't have any release tab or small springs. Just shove the body of the magnifier out of your way. This new system is a little bit slower than the old one, but easier to manipulate with fatigued, sweaty hands. It's also a lot more solid than the old one. I'm confident that any impact hard enough to damage this mount would shatter the glass in the optic, which is itself very rugged. It has taken all of the abuse I've thrown at it and has not shown any signs of trouble.

The glass itself is clear, and I've not found any tendency to parallax, even with a bad cheek-weld forcing my line of sight out of the center axis of the magnifier. I liked it so much I ordered another one in black for my wife's competition rifle.

In short, this is a fantastic magnifier on a good, solid mount.

I have a number of different AR and AK style rifles, with a number of different optics including a TA31F RCO ACOG, an Aimpoint CompML4, Aimpoint PRO, Lucid HD7, EOTech 552, and the FDE EOTech EXPS3 I am using with this matching tan G33. I like the 4x Red Chevron ACOG for longer shooting, but my old eyes simply can't adapt well to the BAC, so I can't use the ACOG reliably for anything close-in. I love the Aimpoints, and their highly touted battery life, but when it comes to CQB and carbine classes, that big picture window and 65 MOA halo of the EOTech is just unbeatable. Nothing comes close to the EO for fast target acquisition, and it really helps my aging eyes to be more responsive. I'm out-shooting some LEO's half my age at these classes, as most of them seem to be using Aimpoints or ACOGs. The G33 is truly a worthy, matched companion to the EXPS3, though there is a color difference between the two which makes my anus pucker a little, but I'll get over it. I need a lot of eye relief, and while the new G33 is better than the G23, I'd still like more. The STS is no joke, it works very well and slapping it back into place is a breeze. It is clearly very rugged and should hold up well to abuse during a class or in 3G / IDPA competitions.

My only gripe is that all of this goodness comes at a price -- added weight. It is quite noticeable, and alters the "balance" of my best AR, something I will have to get used to. Once you fully accessorize your weapon -- bipod, WML, EXPS3, G33, AFG, Sopmod, and whatever else, you look like a tactical dork and now have a 12-pound rifle. It's a consideration, and a sacrifice I can live with for what the G33 brings to the table, but be aware that there is no free lunch. If you like a trim, lean, light weapon, this should be a consideration.

Awesome stuff. I paired it with the OPMOD eotech because I prefer the 1 dot and not 2 or 4. Thing is crystal clear and the slap-to-side works perfect and you can feel the quality in it when you use it. You know its not goign to be coming loose anytime soon.
If you buy this and pair it with the holographic sight, make sure you search for and buy the scopecoat!!!
