Will this work with the Aimpoint T1?

Answer: I have read that this combination works well. I use the G33 with an EOTech EXPS3-0, but want to put a T-1 (actually the new T-2, better optics) on another rifle for its light weight, but love the G33 magnifier. So I am considering this pairing as well. You may want to do a few searches on dedicated sites like ar15.com and m4carbine.net for some "expert" opinions.

Answer: I have an aimpoint pro and the rail on my colt 6920 is not long enough to mount the g33 without removing the rear MBUS. That being said, I have heard others say you should stick with the same manufacturer when it comes to magnifiers, such as eotech with eotech and aimpoint with aimpoint. Otherwise there may be alignment issues. That is a lot of money to spend if the magnifier doesn't properly align with your HWS. Hope that helps.

Answer: i use it with a T2. eotech red dots(holographic) suck but i love this magnifier compared to aimpoint's magnifier. just make sure your T2 or compm4s' mount is at the correct height.

Answer: The eye relief for the EoTech G.33.STSAN is 2.2" (55.8mm

Answer: This is simply a magnifier, therefore parallax doesn't come into play with it. The best picture, full circle, is at about 2" however, it's about the comfort of the shooter really.

Does the magnifier have an ambidextrous hinge? Can it be flipped to the left side?

Answer: It is recommended to flip it to the left due to flying brass. You have to rotate the mount 180 degrees and screw the magnifier down to the mount to be able to flip it to the other side though. You cannot flip it to both sides without remounting the optic.

Answer: I had this problem as well being that my AR is left handed. You can not flip the hinge. But you can mount the scope backwards for lack of a better word so that it flips over to the left side. You just have to mount the magnifier a little bit further back but I have no problems when doing so. It's still very clear and accurate.

Answer: Yes, When you purchase it comes unmounted. You then mount so it flips right or left. I have mine so it flips to the right. Did not think about flying brass.

Will it work with an Eotech 512?

Answer: It should. It is somewhat height adjustable with a shim (that comes with it), so it works with the XPS-2 and the EXPS2. I don't see why you couldn't use it with the 512.

Answer: Yes it will, but I would recommend using the 517 or 556. The button controls are on the side with those models where the 512 controls are on the back.

Answer: Oh definitely. As long as the sight image is not in a radically different spot that is not lined up with the magnifier, it should be fine. Heck, I have my set about six inches forward of my magnifier (would have to wear glasses to shoot, otherwise) and it works fine.

Answer: Sure. The magnifier isn't EoTech specific. It will work with any optic, provided that the mount puts it at the same height as the magnifier. This one comes with a spacer that allows you to mount it at two different heights. It matches the two heights of EoTech bases perfectly, but it'll work with other brands with similarly-tall bases.

Answer: it is basically a 3X magnification no matter what distance you are shooting. so, for instance, a 100 yard shot will appear in the magnifier as about 33 yards...

When this is flipped over to the side does it get in the way of the ejected brass?

Answer: No. With it folded over it is above and behind the path of ejected cases.

Answer: No, I used it with two different semi auto rifles and never had this problem. I guess that it would depend on the gun you use. If the ejected brass already come back in your face when you use a gun, then, the flipped scope might also find itself in the way.

Answer: I have never had an issue with brass hitting it. I have a rear flip as far back as I can put it and the g33 directly in front of that so it's pretty far back. But like I said, I've never had brass hit mine.

Answer: Doesn't on my DDM4. I'd bet L3/Eotech did plenty of testing prior to launch and I haven't seen any feedback indicating a problem. I never used one but I think the previous 'twist to side' models would stick out further over the ejection port and I never heard anything about them causing ejection issues either so you're good to go. I use mine with an XPS2 and it also works like a champ withy Aimpoint T-1. Side note: As a photographer I appreciate the quality of the glass in this unit.

Diopter is built to focus the reticle or the background where you are watching?

Answer: Diopter is for the background. The reticle projects at the plane your eye is focussed on already due to the magic of holographic projection. The reticle will always be in focus (or at least as much in focus as it ever is, they're naturally a little fuzzy), you need only focus on the target.

what generation is this?

Answer: This is the most current generation of magnifier and mount offered by EOTech. It replaced the G23.FTS.

Answer: Its the 3rd Generation version. Harder to come by than the earlier versions due to demand, but I'm definitely happy with the purchase.

Answer: Yes, and I was going to do just that ..... but at the last minute I questioned why I was going cheap on the mag ..... I didn’t go cheap with the Eotech dot ..... I spent the extra bucks to buy the Eotech mag .....

Answer: Yes you can, you just need to ensure your mount for the Vortex is the right height. The magnifier comes with a spacer, it should be good to use with either a 1/3 co witness sight or a absolute co witness height sight.

Answer: It locks in place both ways with a tension spring. And yes, it does stay in line. The holographic sight stays where you dialed it in. The magnifier just makes the recticle and the sight picture bigger. Its impractically heavy, but a cool piece of hardware none the less.

Answer: It's locked in the up position and stays in line. When pushed to the side it's not locked but it's not flopping around either. It stays put until you pull it back up.

Answer: No screws are missing. The optic comes with all of the mounting hardware you need in the case, and the only screws are the ones used to affix the magnifier to the mount. There are two lengths: the short ones for attaching directly to the mount, and the long ones to attach to the mount with the 7mm riser in place (to obtain co-witness with a sight with an elevated base). Both sets of screws are included.

Answer: Yes but it’s important that you get the right height mount for the magnifier to line up with your aim point

Answer: The G 33 is already hinged to fold to the right side a with a firm push when you want to use the Eotech without magnification.

Answer: There is a way to have it flip either right or left depending on how you mount it. It fits on a rail, so If you can mount it so that it lines up with what ever you want to use it for... There is some assembly required. You also have another mount that comes with it to rise it up for better alignment. It flips by pressure. You just flip it left or right. Doesn't fit well on a SA M1A Socom II, the eye relief is ~2". Does work great on an AR10 or AR15 platform. highly recommended.

P38 : ruggedness and flip over action is the best in the business

Well I've been using it for some time now and it's just as advertised. Spend the extra clams as the fit, quick release clamp, ruggedness and flip over action is the best in the business, not the mention the glass and adjustment features are rugged, easy to see thru and easily to work with your fingers too. Makes a big difference over 200 yards for these old eyes. Thanks to Big Rock and Amazon as well!

Cheap Angel on one shoulder vs. Cool Devil on the other: I deeply contemplated how to justify paying $500 for a magnifier. I have a Primary Arms 3X LER which is good to use with my PA AMD and like it. I tried the Vortex 3X but the eye relief was horrible and I sent it back. I tried the Burris which is practically the same glass quality as the EOtech but the mount didn't work being ever so slightly low for the EXPS2. I could have bought a 1/3 co-witness mount for the Burris but I got frustrated and ordered this EOtech G33. I'm glad I did because the glass is truly exceptional and the QD FTS mount is exceptional. I love the combination of the EXPS2 with the G33 Magnifier. The ONLY reason I give this four stars instead of five is because of the price. I would have felt a lot more comfortable at $400 but life isn't perfect. Given the struggle over the price, I would still recommend buying the G33 because I simply cannot send it back. It's perfect.

Great it is super nice to have the ability to have that added power when needed to take to longer shots. Little heavy but being able to easily switch between the EOTECH and a little extra magnification makes a big difference. Not having to re-zero every time you take it on and off is also a super plus.

I was very hesitant to buy this. For some odd reason, I did not like the way it "looked" on the rifle. I had been searching for a different optic and when my SWAT team buddy told me they were building some rifles using this setup I took a chance. One trip to the range is all it took to convince me. This thing is great!!! Super easy to install and it is exactly what I need. Paired with an XPS holographic sight, the combo is sweet. Flip it out of the way to engage targets in close then pop it up to reach out a little further. Highly recommend!

I've been waiting a long time to buy a G33. Looking at different magnifier and price range the Eotech was the right fit for me. The clarity, sharpness and range compared to the other brands the Eotech G33 stands above the others. The side switch mounting system: flip magnifier over into position for longer range shooting or flip out of position for close up shooting. Quick and easy with easy adjustable siting works very well with my red dot another Eotech product. I wish I had brought both red dot and magnifier at the same time would have saved a little bit of money. The rebate made it possible.

Very clear optic. Eye relief is 1" - 2" at best. Flip to left puts the mag right in your line of sight for both eyes open red dot shooting. Flip to right puts the mag in the path of ejected cases and the quick release clamp impedes the blading of the charging handle. There are two rotating knobs. One on top. One on the right side. These are to align the mag to center your red dot. Nice feature BUT... you have to be exceptionally cautious not to bump the knobs when flipping out or into use.

Easy to install.
Sighted in two rifles at 100 yards with Eotech 512 in about 5 minutes using a spotter. The 512 works with the G33, and with it folded out of the way. The hinge is tight so grab it and move it, it can take it.

I have the 512 and G33 setup on two rifles and, so far, I'm happy with both. Hitting everything I want at 100 yards, which is the limit of the range where I shoot.

Eye relief is short, so plan to be right up close to your G33.

Awesome stuff. I paired it with the OPMOD eotech because I prefer the 1 dot and not 2 or 4. Thing is crystal clear and the slap-to-side works perfect and you can feel the quality in it when you use it. You know its not goign to be coming loose anytime soon.
If you buy this and pair it with the holographic sight, make sure you search for and buy the scopecoat!!!

To be honest I was concerned about counterfeit EOtechs on amazon. I took a chance on this G33 magnifier and photos speak for themselves. Was a fresh, legit eotech magnifier and the inspection date shows it wasn’t some old stock laying around a warehouse for years. Can’t speak for all amazon sellers, but Optics Buddy came through big time.

works great on my eotech red dot..... for the exps 3 needs to add the 7mm shims.... lined up perfect.... my scope would not flip … you have to loosen silver screw on the bottom of the mount...… my red dot was fuzzy …. need to play with the dioper settings to get the dot to be perfect....tried to use it with my trijicon mro…. did not seem to work well... could not get the red dot to focus ….. dot was oblong or two or three dots... could not get to a clear single dot … could only single dot when I had a weird cheek placement on rifle stock.... will try again with the diopter.....

Doesn't fit well on a SA M1A Socom II, the eye relief is ~2". Does work great on an AR10 or AR15 platform. highly recommended.

I mounted this on my rifle with my EOTECH 512 sight and two Magpul fold down iron sights. Everything fits on the rail perfectly with a little room to spare (16 inch barrel).

At first, I worried that I wouldn't be able to get to the controls on the 512 but that isn't a problem. Simply flip the magnifier to the side and voila! The buttons are right there.

Remember, this is a magnifier and not a scope. When used combined with the 512, the holographic dot is crystal clear and I get far better accuracy with distance shots. I can hit a 12" target with iron sights or the 512 alone at 200 yards (which is as far as my range goes, I'd like to try further at some point). With the magnifier, it is even easier and my spread shrinks greatly. When accuracy counts at longer distances, this is a great addition. When you don't need the magnification, just flip it to the side and use the regular sight. I'm still able to use the 512 just fine even with it further down the rail because of the presence of the G33.
