Answer: Not sure who makes the hooks but there very sharp. Booyah pad crasher is one of the best frogs on the market if not the best. Its soft body makes it easy for bass to get in their mouths and the sharp hooks make sure I get them in the boat. I have cought a bunch of bass over the years with this frog.

what is the size and weight of this Booyah frog ?
Answer: i believe there's two sizes a 6in and a 3in. they don't weigh very much, but they are the best frogs I've ever used especially in thick lillly pads. I extremely suggest using a rod specifically designed for these type of frogs for better hook set.

Where is the hook on this?
Answer: There are 2 hooks each comes from the belly side at about where the "legs" are, and the points sort of rest on the back.
Answer: there are actually 2 hooks-both on the back rear-one on each side-they are recessed-frog is very soft rubber
Answer: There are two hooks, actually. One on each side of the frog the curls just in front of the leg facing forwards and is flush against the top/side of the body. They're great for being extremely weedless.
Answer: The hooks are located on the sides of the soft body of the bait. This keeps them pretty weedless yet right where they need to be when a fish bites down on the soft bodied bait.
Answer: There is a double hook pointing upwards at the end of the frog's body right where the tails start. Most hollow frog lures are like this.

Could you use a spinning reel or just bait casting
Answer: You can use frogs for most any kind of fishing pole or reel. It works better with a bait caster, but since they take more time to practice casting with, I would just recommend a spinning reel if you don't know how to use/ don't have a bait caster. I have both kinds but I typically use just my spinning reel.
Answer: I use this primarily with a spinning reel. This frog works great. Caught a lot of bass. Largest one was 8 lb 13 Oz.
Answer: You can use this on a spinning reel but you will need to make sure that you are using braided line and a pretty stiff rod, 7 foot medium heavy works well for me. Tackle Finatic
Answer: Yes you can use both just fine but you will need a spinning reel with a good back bone since bass will useally pull the frog under the lillypads
Answer: I always fish frogs in spinning reels.... works fine for me
Answer: I would recommend a baitcaster so you can walk the frog easily and properly, but if you are not used in using one I have some friends that use spinning on frog but still catches fish. Remember to use minimum of 50 lbs braided line in using top water frog.

Maybe it's just because I got hung up, but after just a few casts, I noticed that the right hook impaled the frog and now there's a hole above the leg. Not too noticeable since it's rubber and still floats, but be aware.

Love this frog! Softer than most and the Kuro (black and red) is killer in the lilly pads. Because they are somewhat softer, I get more hook-ups, but they will tear a little. A little super glue helps. Add this to your tackle box, you won't regret it.

I like this a lot. Had great action, gets plenty of attention from fish, though it takes a second to figure out when to set the hook with the upward facing hooks, but my only complaint is that it fills with water after a few casts. I kept having to squeeze the lure to get the water out because it kept going below the water line. That really ruins the action of the frog and doesn't let you get as many casts out as you'd like. This is my first time using a frog so I'm not sure if that's normal, but it seems like a bad design to constantly fill up with water for something that's supposed to float on top.

Used this lure in a one-day, five-bass-limit tournament and was able to pull in four nice-sized bass during a one-hour period, using only the Booyah Pad crasher (Albino frog in stained water). I lost three more because of bad hook-ups. I think this was my fault and not because of inferior hooks. I lost the lure during the tournament while casting into docks and boat houses. A too-high cast landed on a boat-house roof and I had to cut the line because it became stuck. Before I lost the lure, I had pulled in 12.7 pounds. I reordered two more to replace the one I lost.

This is a great frog. It is very easy to walk with a light touch. It takes very little pressure to walk as long as one side of the strands are trimmed shorter than the other. Caught everything from pike to large mouth bass (and sunfish go after it too). The colors are good and this is one of my favorite lures. Also you can't beat the price!

I took this out fishing in a little pond that's clogged with weeds, and within an hours time had caught 3 good size small mouth bass, and it never got caught in the weeds, which is what I wanted. This is a excellent Lure made for some exciting fishing as the Bass attack it on the surface of the lily pads, Its just a little hard pulling the Fish in through the weeds. Lol

I fished this on several spots for bass and had a lot of great catches. It glides right through grasses and pads and doesn't get hung up. Bass hit it hard and the hooks have held up great so far, landing several 3-4 pounders.

My favorite in the pads. Great casting weight, jumps through the pads like a real frog, and walks the dog like no other with its "V" shaped bow. Nose up like a frog, legs squirt like a frog, and the hooks are well protected and never foul. As others have mentioned this frog has a nice soft body so ol' big mouth can get a good chomp. Even though body is soft, this is a really durable plug - I have more than one color and they are all terrific for bass.
