Is the size of this sgt35h really 8.5x6.25x5 inches? that seems comically large for use in jigging? what is true dimensions? diagram?

Answer: I don't have it in front of me but it is not that big. It is a standard size reel. The handle is large and maybe they are including that in the measurement

Answer: No that is not correct. This reel is roughly the same size as a PENN Fathom 25N or a Shimano Torium 16.

Answer: I don't know what do you mean whith ( one size ) !!!! Y bought size 20 and it's perfect , size 30 too big for my kind of fishing , also exist sizes bigger.

Answer: When I bought mine it was only one size. I put 20 lb mono on it. Its good for trolling smaller rapalas 15s or bottom fishing. Its a sturdy reel. Unfortunately I gave mine away but I would buy another.

Answer: Very easy. I service all of my reels, Sealines, Seagate, Fathoms, shimanos and this reel is as basic as it gets.

Answer: depends on which model you get usually the bigger the number attached to the name the bigger the reel i have the 35h and i use exalibur 25lbs test which is a bit smaller than normal 25lb test lines and i could prob put up to 300 yrds which is well over a couple hundred feet questimating. its a great choice trust me ive got alot of 100 plus pounder bat rays and thresher sharks on it. i think its under priced for quality. smooth casting an retrieve

Answer: The reels capacity is 240 yards of 25-LB mono, 200 yards of 30-LB mono, clearly labeled at the bottom of the reel. I have been able to load up-to 150 yards of 40 to 50-LB mono or fluorocarbon line when I go out for bigger fish such as blues or strippers, this reel can handle it, just keep the proper drag and the rest is history. This reel is very fast, 48 inches per turn which makes it perfect for jigging for deeper fishing. I love it and I definitively recommend, the lack of wind level takes a little getting used to, but once you get familiar with the reel it becomes a breeze.

Answer: South Korea , 80+ pound fish is never a easy pull. It depends on the fish and its characteristics. A 40kg bottom fish (grouper) probably not, a 40kg shark or wahoo probably so!

Answer: I have the 20h. It is a small reel. If you are looking for a reel for jigging, go with the torium.

Answer: I like my seagate but it's not in the same class as my Torium's. Of course the torium costs more.

Does this reel come with a clamp to hold it to the rod?

Answer: There is a foot that secures it to the rod, then a bracket that can be used to attach it to the boat. This will ensure that a large catch doesn't pull the rod overboard.

Answer: It has one to secure it better, but it doesn't fit if the rod is to wide. If you're using a medium/small rod you won't have any problem using it.

A : Very solid reel.

It worked well on my last fishing trip. It took a few minutes to learn to operate. Nicely made, but its not a level wind reel, so you need to be careful when spooling the mono or braid. I have a 30lb mono on it, but will soon replace it with a 50lb braid. The drag is good, but its not made for monster fish. This should be able to handle anything b/w 30 to 40 lb fish.

I bought this reel last year, paired it with a calstar 20-50 rod. For Southern Cali fishing, its a beast. I've caught rock fish, barracuda, yellowtail, Sea bass, kelp bass and many other species with this reel and it haven't skip a beat. Great reel, Great price. Two thumbs up.

I've mostly fished the coastal surf and bays with Ambassadeur reels but wanted to try other brands. I purchased this a few days prior to a trip using Amazon Prime and received it in 2 days as expected. It immediately was put to use as a bait casting reel using 20 lb test. It handled dozens of fish in the 3-8 lb range without any trouble. The clicker in free spool is great and is exciting to have it "sing" when a fish takes the bait. I've only used level wind reels in the past and this does not have that feature. It did not present any problems though for casting long distances or reeling in line.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and look forward to testing the heavier weight range for fish, hopefully, on my next trip.
