I have two Joy Fish nets 6 ft 1/4 and 8ft 3/8. After owning numerous cast nets over the last 50+ years, I find these Lee Fisher products to be of the best bets made regardless of price. I like the 1.25 oz. per foot (joy fish) nets the best. Not to heavy to throw all day but heavy enough to get the deep baits. I like the 3/8 mesh because it works for everything from finger mullet and sardines to big mullet and pogies. With the 8 foot 3/8 net you can do it all, no more lugging multiple nets. The 6 foot 1/4 is great for minnows, sardines and shrimp.

If you throw a net in areas with rough bottom, there is no sense paying $200 for a net. This net certainly serves the purpose well. It throws well and has all the bells and whistles you need.
