Questions about Ivation 10 Tray Commercial Food Dehydrator Machine | 1000w, Digital Adjustable Timer and Temperature Control | Dryer for Jerky, Herb, Meat, Beef, Fruit and To Dry Vegetables | Stainless Steel
Q:
Is this UL Listed?
Answer: UL and ETL Listings are equivalent. No difference in the evaluation of the product for compliance with UL Standards for Safety
Answer: It is US ETL which is slightly different than UL.
Q:
How noisy is this when dehydrating?
Answer: Not noisy at all . The 6 trays clean up easy in the dishwasher . Simple to use and it makes sumptuous jerky . I had to play around until I got a couple of my favorite recipes . Now I won't hesitate to whip up a batch . I get a lot of request from my fellow co-workers .
Answer: It’s very quite
Answer: About the same as a small fan blowing,it’s quieter than a microwave...
Q:
Where can I find the temps you need to dehydrate different fruit??
Answer: I havent dehydrated fruit but numerous websites have all different Temps for different items. I've mostly just made jerky with mine and the first few batches were experiments. Try this recommendation and wasn't satisfied so tried another. Trial and error and you will find what works for you.
Q:
I had seen on a review that this machine could be used as bread proofing machine as well. Is this true?
Answer: I don't see why not. If bread proofing is ok to be utilized with a backfan blowing super dry hot air over it then yes. I think if so, you may have to rotate your bread. However, please note the trays are precise squares (but close) and seem to only want to fit in the racks in a single direction only allowing you to essentially rotate the tray itself in 180 degree increments. Hope that helps!
Q:
Can this product dehydrate liquids? Hummus?
Answer: Yes, it can dehydrate anything that any dehydrator can. I have not done hummus but I it's a good idea!
Answer: I made fruit roll-ups from apple sauce which is pretty liquidy but it takes a while to remove all the water. Probably would work for humus.
Q:
Does this thing have a warenty?
Answer: Yes, This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty.
Answer: Yes, This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty.
Q:
I need a Cover for the dehydrator
Q:
What is the advantage of having 1000 watts? Others have 600 watts.
Answer: More heat equates to more drying power. Essentially, is the same as laying your material in the sun or in a shady area. Both will dry the material; one is just a bit faster, that's all.
Answer: It's more powerful. It dries in a more efficient manner.
Q:
can this dehydrate beef. hamburger?
Answer: This should be able to dehydrate meats. It offers a very wide range of temperatures from 95 - 158 degrees F. You could look up some recipes to be sure. The stainless steel trays are about 1/2 " mesh and some foods will fall through. You might want additional trays that are sold separately (with either fine openings or solid trays). I haven't used mine for meat, but for a variety of other foods is has served me very well - fruit leathers, kale, garlic, mushrooms, herbs and likely a few other things I am not recalling at the moment.
Answer: I have not tried drying beef or hamburger. I have made beef jerky and it turned out great. But that meat was marinated. You might try a small amount of burger first. I recommend patting it as dry as possible with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible first. Good luck!
Q:
Is this nsf certified
Answer: It's a commercial grade food dehydrator
Answer: It does not have nsf seal on the device
Q:
Can this be used to smoke summer sausage ?
Answer: I don't know exactly the process for making summer sausage. However, this unit is basically the same as any dehydrator; it has a heating element and a fan to extract the moisture. I purchased this unit for my wife to dry meat to make a sort of dried beef. The main selling points of this unit are the stainless steel shelves and exterior, the number and spacing options of shelves, the heating element and physical size of the unit. For my wife and I, it is exactly what we wanted. It should be noted that the thicker and more dense your fruit or meat is, the longer drying time will be required. Hope this helps.
Answer: I would not use to smoke summer sausage.
Answer: I don't know the process for smoking summer sausage but I don't see why not. It works great!
Answer: No unfortunately it cannot. You would have to have some other type of unit to use Outdoors for that
Answer: No, this is not a smoker
Q:
Does this ivation 10 tray stainless steel food dehydrator have a 120 volt motor or a 220 volt
Answer: It’s 120 volt motor
Answer: It has a 110 volt motor
Q:
Does it use 220-240V ac power?
Answer: No
Q:
Where can I buy extra solid and mesh sheets that fit this?
Answer: Amazon...
Q:
Is this nsf certified
Answer: It's a commercial grade food dehydrator
Answer: It does not have nsf seal on the device
Q:
How much space are between the trays on the 10 tray model?
Answer: 1 1/4 inch the trays are removable and will provide more space
Q:
Do they make a cover for this dehydrator?
Answer: To the best of my knowledge, there is no cover available to buy. As I plan to have my on our back porch, I plan to create one myself to keep pests out. I have planned to use plywood to make a cover. That is my plan at this moment.
Q:
Does this thing have a warenty?
Answer: Yes, This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty.
Answer: Yes, This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty.
Q:
Is the drip tray stainless steel as well?
Answer: The "drip tray" is not stainless steel however the type of plastic they use makes it super easy to clean it's like a no-stick surface. You could always cover the bottom of the unit with aluminum foil if you don't want any plastics in the unit. You could also let it drip on the bottom but that would be a bit harder to clean up. This particular dehydrator was a great investment. I made some of the best jerky in this unit. Can even give you a recipe if you want!
Answer: No, the removable drip tray is not stainless steel.
Answer: The whole inside is stainless. Not sure what you mean by drip tray.
Answer: It is stainless. Very nice dehydrator.
Answer: Plastic but bottom is stainless
Answer: Mine came with plastic
Answer: Ni plastic
Answer: I believe so
Q:
I’m using my new dehydrator for the first time and can’t get the temperature to set at 160 degrees, it either says 158 or 167. Am I missing something?
Answer: Set at highest then back down but my hubby said it doesn’t matter if few degrees off.
Q:
Are these stainless steel trays chrome coated as well as other many dehydrators?
Q:
Stopped working after 3 mos/6 uses. Looks like control panel is shot. How do I buy parts?
Answer: I would contact the manufacturer you can look it up on the internet
Q:
Does it tell you what the moisture content is? Can you dry to a set moisture percentage?
Answer: Not that ive seen
Q:
Is the door renovable?
Answer: No, it is hinged.
Q:
How big is it?
Answer: The size of a large microwave..
Q:
Made in the usa dehydrator? i support usa-made products
Answer: I am fairly certain this product is NOT made in the USA. For the most part, anytime you see a company name which you don't recognize and no USA city or phone number as a contact, it would point me to believe the product was made outside of the USA. I prefer to support American made products as well, but I could not find a stainless steel shelf unit with the large capacity that I wanted.
Answer: Yes. And, I must say, I don't know how I have lived as long as I have without it! It is bigger than I had thought, so, at first, I was not sure if I was happy with it or not. But, once I began dehydrating my meats and herbs, I was absolutely thrilled. You can't go wrong with this dehydrator.....I promise you.
Q:
Can I set the temperature at 118°f?
Answer: The temperature settings are 167, 158, 149, 140, 131, 122, 113,104 and 95. Hope that helps.
Answer: Yes. The lowest temperature setting is 95 F.
Answer: My husband uses the dehydrator all the time. I just asked him and his answer is "probably". It is an excellent appliance. He has perfected banana chips to the point they are liking eating candy.
Q:
Can you turn off temperature control? Becasue i want it below 85f
Answer: I haven’t tried to lower it. It states in instructions minimum temp. Sorry really didn’t help.
Q:
The face panel on mine came off what kind of adhesive do I use to put it back on
Answer: I assume you mean that the hinge and frame are still in good working order. In that case, I would recommend that you find a food grade adhesive, because all adhesives are not necessarily suitable to be around your food. I have never used anything other than a super glue, but I wouldn't recommend that type of material due to the heat. If it were me, I would search the net for high temp food grade adhesives.
Q:
Does this hold 6 or 10 trays??
Answer: Well the photo and description shows the 10 tray model. I have a 6 tray model so I suppose it's which ever one you decide on. They make both models. Just read the description carefully and pick the one you want.
Answer: Mine has 10 trays.
Answer: I'm not sure as it was a while back that I ordered it. I had to return it because the door was damaged upon arrival.
Q:
How long does the food last
Answer: I did apricots and apples. The apricots i gave away over 3 weeks. The apples i froze - so cant tell you yet! I put them all in zip lock bags. I think there are some recipe books that will tell you how long each lasts - but i suspect once dried quite a while. Good luck!
Answer: Food should not need to be frozen AFTER dehydrating. You can store dried food for at least a year, keeping it out of sunlight and in a cold cupboard. What would be the point of using two pieces of electronic equipment, if trying to live more sustainably or avoiding the need to can or freeze.
Q:
Is the temperature in increments
Answer: It’s in 9° increments
Answer: Yes. With this dehydrator, you can set the temp and time that is necessary for the various fruits or veggies that will need dehydrating. It's so simple to use. I highly recommend this dehydrator!!!
Answer: Yes it does, but its like by 3's, not 1. We do beef jerky in our small business and it works great.
Q:
whats differnt from the 10 tray and 12 tray
Answer: The obvious answer is 2 trays! I chose the 10-tray because it fit under our wall cabinets. We are a 4 person family, and I felt that the 10-tray was adequate for making food for 4 people. The 10-tray is a superb product.
Answer: Just more room. always error on the side of more room.
Q:
Is this model available in 220vac?
Answer: No
Q:
What is the difference between the vivohome and ivation 10 rack dehydrators?
Q:
Is it 6 trays or 10 trays. It says both in the description?
Answer: Says 10 and shows 10. They make a 6 tray one, too.
Answer: Definitely 10 trays and is an awesome machine. Best dehydrator that my family has ever owned.
Answer: The one I bought has 6
Q:
How many rpm's is the fan? also what diameter is the fan?
Answer: I cannot say for sure since I am not in front of the unit, but I believe the fan is about 4" in diameter. I believe the important value is the CFM of air moved, especially since it is an exhaust fan.
Answer: I apologize, I do not know those specifics, but I will tell you I purchased it as a gift for my boyfriend and absolutely loves it. He states it works great, no complaints. Makes great jerkey!
Q:
What country manufacturers this?
Answer: This unit is NOT made in the USA, it is a product of China.
Answer: I believe it said made in USA
Q:
can the plastic (or whatever) feet be removed? Might still be functional, on a woodstove if removable, if Stainless steel feet and a heat-run fan?
Answer: It’s not clear why you would even want to do that. The fan and heat is inside the enclosed case so I don’t think that would work. Plus, the heat from the stove might melt any internal plastic parts and wiring.
Q:
What kind of electrical plug does it have?
Answer: Has a standard three prong plug end
Answer: Three prong plug
Answer: Standard 3-prong plug.
Answer: A standard 3 prong plug
Q:
Do you need to line the trays with parchment paper? Will the veggies stick to the trays during dehydration?
Answer: I lightly sprayed trays with PAM. I think the paper would interfere with air flow and affect the drying process.
Answer: Lining the trays with parchment paper will probably hinder the dehydration process. I have used it for beets, yellow squash, chicken jerky, . . . and while things sometimes stick (depending on how dry you want your veggies to be) I have not found it to be a problem. Crispy dried foods do not seem to stick, and even if items do stick, the trays are easily cleaned by soaking in hot water. I would avoid cleaning them in a dishwasher as that would etch the metal and make them more likely to stick to food.
Q:
Any warranty on it? I would love to purchase additional 2 or 3 year warranty.
Q:
Is there a tray with sides to hold liquid for dehydrating?
Answer: No there is not
Q:
Does the door close to a magnet type to seal tightly?
Answer: The magnet is just there to keep the door closed. Unlike an over or refrigerator your door does not "seal" or have a gasket. A dehydrdator needs to have airflow so that "moist" air is removed. I have two different dehydrators one column style and this one. Both of them you can feel the air leaving. The column has holes in the top so air leaves and this one there is a slight gap at the top of the door for air circulation. Basically yes the magnet keeps the door closed, no it isnt a real seal.
Answer: Yes, it is magnetic, the door seals very well. This is a very well built unit and a work horse.
Q:
i bought this and it stopped working after 6 uses in 3 mos. Amazon can’t help. I need to buy replacement control panel. How do I do this?
Answer: I would contact the seller of this item and ask them for contact info for the manufacturers of this product. From there you can ask the manufacturer for a replacement board. Hope that helps! I have this dehydrator and I absolutely love it.
Answer: Do you have the owners manual that came with it? Check there first… if not then see if you can find the manufacturer online to order parts or at very least a customer service number. Hope this helps
Answer: I would contact the manufacturer you can look it up on the internet I would start there
Q:
I used my 10 tray dehydrator for the first time, and i wanted 160 degrees, each time i tried, i could only get 158 or 167 deg am i missing something ?
Answer: Yes. You are missing something. Must not have read about your product before purchasing? It only has a few preset temps. It lists these these temps. Your temp of 160 is not a choice of pre-set temps.
Answer: No you're not missing anything. That is the pre-sets. No in between.
Q:
If you dehydrate onions, does it make the odor permanent?
Answer: If you meant in your dehydrator than I would say no it doesn't since you want to clean it out before your next batch. If you meant within the onion itself I would imagine it would smell like dried chopped onions you would get at the supermarket.
Answer: No.
Is there somewhere to buy replacement trays?
Answer: The unit came with a booklet it has number to call for replacement trays but the trays are also mostly universal in size for a dehydrator that size.
Answer: Online
Product reviews of Ivation 10 Tray Commercial Food Dehydrator Machine | 1000w, Digital Adjustable Timer and Temperature Control | Dryer for Jerky, Herb, Meat, Beef, Fruit and To Dry Vegetables | Stainless Steel
Dmitry Z : It works very well!
Very good product!!!
DLG : Quiet and works as advertised - even for a beginner!
Worked as advertised. Had an issue getting the temperature right - it jumps at weird increments
Amazon Customer : Well worth the money
We have done two batches of venison jerky... one batch 4 pounds and the other 8 pounds (still had 3 racks to fill). All turned out excellent... runs quiet, easy to clean and just the perfect size. I did lots of research before buying a dehydrator and this one so far has lived up to all its reviews. Well worth the money.
Bart Marchese : Turn key. Set it and forget it.
It would be better if it was in 5 degree increments
Kindle Customer : This is so quiet!
I just got this so haven't had much time to use....tried drying herbs....really fast, and will try pineapple this weekend. So far, so good! Also dried some summer squash...much more uniform drying than my old dryer.
Patricia Gilbert : No cookbook are temperature book
My husband and I use it to dehydrate chicken for our dogs. We also use it to make beef jerky. We also found out that we can dehydrated 2 1/2 packages of chicken at one time. We bought the 10 shelves. And we absolutely love it. But my husband and I did not like was the fact that it did not come with a cookbook are anything that would be helpful as far as temperature set times for certain things. It would have really been nice if it would have came with something like that. But just remember this does not come with a cookbook or any instructions giving you what temperature to dehydrate anything on
daddy : I recommend
It’s good my only problem is my glass screen fell off my dehydrator. I had it for about 10 months I called Customer service they told me they would send me a replacement dehydrator so I defiantly recommend this company and dehydrator
Reda Taylor : Set it where you will have easy access.
I bought this December 18 2019. S0 far I have dried 30 lb of deer jerky on it. I am putting 12 pound on today soon as I get it prepped. I love it. In about 8 hours I can have perfect jerky every time. Spray the trays with Pam and it makes clean up a breeze. Move the bottom tray for anything that might fall off. Holds consistent heat. Will heat to 165 degrees.
I have retired my other 2 square type /plastic tray dehydrators.
I have not found anywhere I can get spare trays if I need them. The ones Bass Pro sells will not fit.
Can I say again, I love it.
zach : Gets over 160°
If you make jerky this is the dehydrator for you. This seems to be well built, easy to use and is really quiet. This is my first batch and to test it I put about 8 lbs of venison jerky in it to try it and only filled 9 of the 10 trays. 10 pounds might be close to the limit. I also put a temp probe in the center just to monitor temp as this unit will not display internal temp. This dehydrator got up to and well over 160° after 3.5 hours and my jerky is nearly done. If you are struggling to find a dehydrator get this one. The magic mill, cosori, chefwave, and samson all seem to be the same unit.
Cindy Lou Who : Easy and FUN!
Easy and fun!
I’ve had this running almost every day since we got it. It’s so easy to use. I just need to remember not to lean in it and turn it off with my stomach. Lol I got some non-stick sheets, with a tiny grid for small food, I can pull the edges up and use it to funnel the dried food into a container. I plan to make meal kits or camping and go-buckets, and fill canisters for quick meals. Oh, it’s very quiet with a loud buzzer when it’s done
Amazon Customer : Well worth the money

chet adams : Highly recommended
Without a doubt this is a great buy! Worth the money for sure! Beef jerky done in 1/3 of the time as the cheap plastic dehydrator ive used!
Quailybug : Love must have this 10 star!!
Showed up quickly, great condition, opened it up used right away. Made sweet potato chips, zucchini chips, apple chips, banana chips, and beef jerky, THIS A MUST HAVE!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE JUST BUY IT. BEST ONE EVER!!! Built well, trays are metal can put in dish washer and I very durable.
Donna : Nice Machine for the price.
This DH seems well made and the racks are a nice stainless steel. The box was well packaged and arrived earlier than expected. It has worked well so far. A couple things to note....the racks seem not to fit right. They only go in one way and once you close the door they are fine. It seems like they push against the fan guard at the back of the machine but apparently this works.
Jerren F. : Great for dehydrating but the door assembly is cheap.
The door falls off half the time I open it. I can't tell if it was damaged in moving and that's why the door come off but it does. Basically the rod holding the door in place is slightly too short and every once in a while the door opens just right and the rod does not go all the way through and the door comes off. The last picture is with the pin actually going all the way through and hitting the part that "locks it in place" the one before that shows the same exact spot but the pin slid inside the door and no longer locks door in place.
Another not the temperature control is a bit odd, it does not go up and down in easy increments like 5 or 1 it goes up and down in 9°F increments and the control panel is a bit touchy and beeps very loudly.
After using it for a few days I have gotten it to where I can open the door 90%of the time without it falling out. Since that has been my primary issue I am upping my star rating by one.
Karen from Maryland : First time user of a dehydrator
We are using this dehydrator as a first time user of any type of dehydrator. We've made kale chips, spicy chickpeas, dried bananas, and dried blueberries. We are experimenting with each first batch and making second or third batches to hone the recipes. The results are excellent!
Ivation sends no recipes with this dehydrator which is a missed opportunity on their part to help new users. We have purchased dehydrator recipe books to get recipes.
The temperatures are set, so if you are making a recipe with a specific temperature you may have to choose the closest set temperature. (I haven't explored if there is an option to bypass the set temperatures to use your own temperature choice).
We have the 10-tray and it fits on our countertop and under the top cabinets.
Tom : Best deal on Amazon if your looking for quality AND low price
This dehydrator is super quiet. I believe it fits 10lbs of jerky in a single go since I filled 9.5 racks with 8.5 pounds, so 9.5 / 8.5 = 1.117 * 1.5 = 1.67 more pounds i could have fit. Light bleeds thru the plastic as those parts are thin (but strong, not cheapo plastic). There are a couple of manufacturer "dents" putting the unit together but hardly noticeable and no shipping issues. It arrived in a box in a box that was padded with styrofoam strips. Best deal on a dehydrator in my opinion. Only thing is I would like to cook my jerky at 163 degrees, but the unit allows only for like 158 then to 167 and nothing in between for temps. Still a "6 star" rating.
Glenn Reed : The size is great
Love it
Quailybug : Love must have this 10 star!!
Foxylane : Reaches temperatures over 167 degrees.
Love it! I'm new to dehydrating and was surprised to find that it reaches temperatures over 167 degrees. I dehydrate meats for jerky & dog treats. I was concerned about safe temperatures since I don't use salts to cure dog treats. When I put a probe in to check air temperature found it would reach 175 degrees. Saves extra time in oven for safety.
Amazon Customer : Does not reach temperature stated
Easy to use. Front controls location is nice. Does not reach 167 deg. F. According to my thermostat, maximum temp is 125 deg. I would like to buy a new thermostat and try again. I will update my review if I get different results.
RavenWolf : ????
Thank you. Just as described.
Jeremy A. : Good but still needs tweaks done to it
I love the dehydrator but Ibha e a problem with Temp Control... its not as precise as you would think with plus and minu, skips to many number, also our model doesn't go up to whats advertised. We have learned to work around those and produce some really good jerky and our customers are enjoying our product.
Amazon Customer : Seller was EXCELLENT
Okay, had to give the unit a 4 star for breaking down on me...
But I wish I could give the seller kudos (high marks) for taking good care of me when I contacted them about the issue. They were impressive.
As far as the unit goes, it is very large and spacious as well as having the racks nicely spaced. The only issue I have is that the racks can be a bit tough to clean if you aren't putting in a very clean product to start with (I dried durian in it and it was a mess - and tasted not so good ...lol...). For drying apples, pears, mango, etc, I had no problem. Peach was okay as long as it was firm. The reason is that the racks have ridges to them is because of the way the racks' strands (the wire mesh) are interlaced. It is a minor inconvenience but still adds time to cleanup.
I have used several different dehydrators over the years, with many different configurations, and I have to say that this gave me a consistent product whether on the top rack or on the bottom and did not matter the load (full or partial). For the price, it makes it capable of competing with more costly units such as Excalibur. It is a high recommend in my opinion.
daddy : I recommend
It’s good my only problem is my glass screen fell off my dehydrator. I had it for about 10 months I called Customer service they told me they would send me a replacement dehydrator so I defiantly recommend this company and dehydrator
AK_Man : Works Great
I've used my dehydrator to dry several loads of pears, pineapples, and beef jerky. They've turned out great. It's easy to use, quiet, and loads easily. Having a window helps too. The racks are very easy to clean. I thought they were dishwasher safe but the instructions said they're not. That didn't turn out to be a problem because the trays are pretty big and likely wouldn't have fit in my dishwasher anyway. This dehydrator holds a LOT; I haven't filled it up yet.
Jim Bish : Great
Great unit
Ryley B. : Absolute Neub to Dehydrating but Loving it!!!
I stressed a long time over the model of dehydrator to choose before settling on Ivation’s 10-tray unit. Although it wasn’t my first choice (that particular one sat on my wishlist for so long that by the time I finally decided to move on it, it was no longer available [btw, I see Amazon have it in stock once again]. Anyway, I took another eternity literally reading every question, comment and review before making up my mind, and I owe a big thank you to everyone who took the time to answer all the questions I raised!
Delivery wasn’t exactly swift … I had to wait 3 or 4 weeks (don’t quite recall) but when it came it was well packaged with no dents, scratches or defects. While I waited for it, and based on other comments – especially those saying the trays were difficult to load or it wasn’t easy to tell the correct way to load them – I ordered some rack guards, extra liners plus the Ultimate Dehydrator Cookbook – all of which arrived in a matter of days and gave me time to read through the cookbook (excellent book and highly recommend getting if you're also new to dehydrating).
The moment it came I unpacked and gave it a thorough clean and had it set up, ready to go. I've already dehydrated a ton of apples, Asian pears, pineapples, oranges, carrots, mushrooms, sweet corn and delicate herbs like oregano, thyme and coriander and I've even dehydrated stale bread for croutons and breadcrumbs. The dehydrator does not come with a manual or user guide but does have a tip sheet; however, figuring how to program and operate it is really simple and straightforward … if I can do it, everyone else can! For my first trial run I set the temperature and time at 125F / 12 hours – basically overnight and it worked perfectly!
A main reason for me choosing the 10-tray model is I frequently make big batches of yogurt and need sufficient space to hold a decent amount of (largish) mason jars in one go. My second test trial therefore was to see how the unit performed for incubating yogurt. Admittedly one of my initial concerns was the unit’s incremental temperature settings … you can only increase/decrease in 9 degree increments … but this turned out to be a non-factor because yogurt can be incubated between 95F - 113F; I set the temperature at 113F for 10 hours (again overnight) and next morning had perfectly incubated and set yogurt … I couldn't be more thrilled!!
As mentioned above, I've never dehydrated anything before and I've only had the unit a little over a month and a half now. For me it was a considered purchase but so far I have no regrets purchasing it. As for how long it lasts or how well it continues to performs, only time can tell but I'm hoping it will be a workhorse and give years of great service.
If you're considering getting a dehydrator I hope this will be helpful to you.

Amazon Customer : Happy
New product for me but love what it can do. Recommend this product for dehydration purposes.
Tanya Hinde : Love the size and metal racks. Pretty quite.

Robert W : This thing is BIG!
I have never owned a dehydrator before. As I was browsing and researching a nice home unit I came across this. I wanted to be able to do a lot at once to save time related to preparation. I also wanted one that could hit a high enough temperature to feel comfortable dehydrating meat from a raw state with no pre-cooking, or after cooking. That cant really be done with most of the home units out there. This thing hits all the points I was after. One problem.....it doesn't fit in any of our cabinets. Not even our over sized island. An oversight on my part. If you are tight on space or dont want to have it on your counter tops be prepared to make space in your pantry or storage near the kitchen.

Steveo : Awesome dehydrator for price, making jerky
I love everything about this item. Very easy to use. I was concerned that the door allows some air and heat to escape, then read that it's normal/part of the design. Very easy to clean. I put all of the trays in a large bucket and fill with hot water to soak and the meat stuck on brushes right off. Meat is cooked evenly. In addition to beef jerky, I make Jalapeno rolls. Made with Turkey bacon, roll a few jalapenos and add any heat sauces and powders. A hit for family and friends. I use cayenne powder, and drops of habanero, then roll it up, stick toothpicks to keep rolled, 8 hours on 131 degrees.

JoelC : Great so far and we've put it through its paces
We have had this for a month or two now and have run it through its paces. When I got the box at my door, I knew I had underestimated the size. Be ready to store something fairly large if you get this dehydrator. The ten trays that are all bigger than most other units makes this great and the heating has been shockingly even. I should preface all of this with the face that we had a generic small round (5 tray) unit before this one.
So far we have dried about: 50lbs of apples, 12lbs of beef, 15lbs of pork, 2lbs of bananas, 4lbs of carrots, and 4-5 loads of herbs.
PROS
- Seems to dry fairly evenly.
- So much space. Can dry a 10lb bag of apples in a single shot!
- Three nice loads of jerky so far.
- Dries a little faster than our old unit.
- Nothing is perfect, but unlike our old unit we have not been moving/rotating items as they dry since this seems to dry fairly evenly all over.
- Adjustable is nice, we've used it to slowly dry herbs.
- Stainless racks are holding up great so far.
- Fairly fine holes in racks hold most items well.
CONS
- Beep is VERY L.O.U.D.
- Beeps at the end of a drying time, many, many times - in the middle of the night. :/
- Beep can't be shut off (I may hack this).
- Temperature isn't exact and can't be adjusted to be more accurate. 167 top end is more like 160 on mine.
- Racks are *almost* square, so we are often trying to put them in the wrong way.
- Doesn't come with fruit leather inserts.
Dawn Kennedy : Dehydrator
Love the dehydrator prefect size, great product
Mutsy : Returning It
Seemed to take longer than it should have to dehydrate items. I know that the process can take a long time but this seemed to take a VERY long time. Hours longer than overnight. I will be returning it.
John H. Bragg : Dehydrator upgrade
So far, this unit is a great help to my wife in the preparation of homemade beef jerky. Since we live a significant distance from a city, we prefer to prepare many of our meats and vegetables at home. We raise our own vegetables in the spring and summer and the dehydrator should allow us an even longer season because of the ability to store these items. Normally, we use the air dry method, but the addition of heating will speed the cycle.
Amazon Customer : LOVE this Dehydrator! The ????????????
Love love love this dehydrator. The temperature seems to be close if not right on the temperature desired. Easy to use, and I Love the ease of rotating the trays when needed. The door on the machine closes easily and opens easily, especially when you have a tray in hand, you don't have to put down the tray to open the door to use both hands like some dehydrators. I would recommend this dehydrator with its 10 trays to anyone who wants to begin to, or is a veteran of dehydrating.
Stephanie Boyer : Working well with herbs
This unit is working great
Reda Taylor : Set it where you will have easy access.
Dmitry Z : It works very well!
Very good product!!!
David A. : Easy to operate though the trays are a little hard to clean properly but they do work good...
This is the best dehydrator I’ve used so far...
Yagar : One thing to point out
I have dehydrated 2 1/2 gallons of tomatoes with this since I got it. Reason I got it, the size. So far I have not completely filled all the trays. I have the round kind and never put more then 10 trays high, this holds more than that, not even full.
For me the digital temp setting is a bit of a problem. It only sets in 9 degree increments so 131, 122, 113. I can work around it but don't understand the reason for 9 degree increments. IF not for that I would give it 5 stars
Clean up is easy
