It is easy to use. Although, I've only used it a few times so I havent given it a thorough test yet. I did experience some confusion when resetting the scale, but that could have been be user error.

The scale worked for a little with the batteries that is comes with, but the screen freezes. I had to change it to new batteries and it worked fine

This is NOT a fish scale. It can be used as one, but you're going to need grippers. Most fish scales have them attached or a larger full-sized hook. This is a kitchen scale passed off as a fish scale. Make sure you buy Rapala fish grippers or a similar fish holder to use with this.
