Q:
Re the blades interchangeable
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by interchangeable. You can buy replacement blades for about $10.

Why are these Mister fillet knifes advertised at different prices. Are there different models?
Answer: Yes. Some are cheap Chinese knockoff's. Beware of cheap imitations.

How is this for filleting bluegill and crappie? I notice other knives have curved blades for smaller fish, does the straight blade make it harder?

Does anyone use this for cutting crusty loaves of bread or biscotti? The other electric knives' reviews are pretty crappie (haha).
Answer: I have not used it for cutting bread, but I think it would work great, super for all kinds of meats and fish. The blades look like the hand knife I cut bread with. Just saying I think, but haven't tried it. I will say, a lot of knives out there this is the best by far. My last one is 30yrs old and still working, but I thought it time for a new one. Good Luck.
Answer: My husband uses it to cut fish that he caught..... He loves it. I have my own for many years, not this one, but I love it too.
Answer: I have only used it for filleting trout. Excellent choice for me and it is extremely sharp.
Answer: how about cleaning fish with it
Answer: I have not but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Q:
Is any part of this knife supposed to be greased or lubricated?
Answer: Nope. It is all sealed. This is the second Mr. Twister I have owned. The first one cleaned 100s of wet, slimy fish and cut up many a deer...not to mention holiday turkeys and hams. It could shave a ham or a turkey better than your local deli. And the great thing is, you don't have to worry about using it wet! After about 12 years of HARD use, my first one died and I immediately replaced it. There's no better electric knife made!
Q:
Is it very loud? The knife I have now makes an annoying noise.
Answer: All the electric knives I have ever used make and annoying noise I guess. I never payed much attention....just easier cleaning fish... and at 72 I have cleaned a many a fish
Answer: It's the normal electric knife sound. Certainly not enough to say it's annoying noise.
Answer: I don't think it is loud at all. I am very pleased with everything about it.
Answer: I do not consider it loud at all.
Q:
will this knife slice meats and bread
Answer: This knife does a great job slicing turkey, ham and beef brisket. I have used it to slice both banana and pumpkin bread so it will probably do fine on a loaf of bread as well. We purchased a second one to keep on our pontoon so that I could have one for the house. Hope you find this helpful.
Answer: Yes. It's very sharp.
Q:
Was size inverter would you need to run this off car or boat batteries? What is the wattage?
Answer: Couldn't tell you on this. I have electricity on boat dock.
Answer: Sorry I have never tied this before.
Q:
I live in a 220v country and will have to buy transformer to use this. How much watts does this device use?
Q:
Can you tell me the name of the manufacturer and its country of origin?
Answer: If you look at product description it says country of origin is China. It is made by Mister Twister
Answer: I'm sorry, but I gave this as a gift to my husband and never noticed the manufacturer or
Q:
Does Mister Twister come in any other color than yellow/green?
Answer: Hello
Q:
Is this a newer model?
Answer: Not sure of your question as a new model. We receive these twice a year. We received these in stock 4 months ago. Not aware of any changes
Answer: I bought this..It’s the same as my older one. But I think my older one had more power. This one smells hot when filleting salmon. But maybe because it’s new....
Answer: I t appears to be the same knife that I purchased close to a year ago.
Q:
does a carrying case come with the mister twister
Answer: No, it does not.
Q:
what is minimum wattage required? Need to run on an 12v inverter, not sure what size inverter needed...
Answer: It has to put out 120 volts
Q:
Blade length?
Answer: Blade length is 7"
Answer: The knife is on my boat...
Answer: I bought it for a gift to my father so I can not answer that question but it seems like it 6 or 7 inches
Answer: 6 to 8" but it should say on the one you are buying
Q:
How well does it work to clean flathead/catfish?
Answer: It didn't last but two cleanings and it stopped working. It made a buzzing sound after that and wouldn't work. The two times used was ONLY for a couple of fish. We didn't use it immediately upon getting it, so by the time it had happened, it was ONE day past the return date.
Answer: I've used it to clean bullheads, catfish, perch, walleye, northern, you name it.
Answer: Haven't used it on Flatheads but have cleaneda couple hundred channel catfish and it works great
Q:
Shouldn't come with a knife protector or sleeve for blades? Mine didn't but wonder if it should of?
Answer: Mine came with a small, clear plastic sleeve, about 2" in length, enough to protect the tip. The sleeve is thin and not designed for full-blade protection.
Answer: Mine came with small clear sleeve approximately 2 inches long on the top of the blade
Answer: Mine did come with one clear protector about 2 inches long that houses both blades tigether..
Answer: All I ever ordered came with a plastic sleeve on them
Answer: No it doesn't come with anything
Answer: For the price, you can expect everything. I made a simple sheath out of cardboard and tape which works fine. It’s easy to replace if it ever gets damaged or lost.
Q:
what is the difference between this one and the limited edition?
Answer: No idea. But blades on this are unstable and tend to disengage. We bought a replacement last yr.
Q:
Has anyone used this to cut corn off the cob for freezing? If so did it work well?
Answer: Works like a charm! Cuts corn off the cob like a hot knife through butter!
Q:
my order came with two blades, should I use both blades together or one at a time?
Answer: Use both blades. They should lock together and then you insert them into the knife. It won’t work with one blade!
Answer: As with all electric knives you must use both blades at once.
Answer: Oh yes ! At the tip one of the knives plugs into the other then flat together they are pushed into the handle. They will seat . When turned on they slide against each other to give you a slicing action for cutting what you you want sliced. For filleting fish it takes some practice. But once that is learned cleaning fish is so much easier . I would go to youtube for tips on filleting fish with this knife . Enjoy .
Answer: You have to use both together
Answer: both
Q:
Would this knife work to cut through 4" thick upholstery foam ?
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
I am having a difficult time trying to figure out how to get some help with fed ex. Or Amazon
Answer: Call Amazon 866 216 1072, they have always provided the help I need .
Answer: I have no idea of the nature of your problem. Is your problem about this product or the shipping. I am not a mind reader. My suggestion is that you call Amazon and share your problems with them.
Q:
Can this capable of fillet 32 inches bull red (fish)?
Answer: I have 35+ years of experience with these....My daughter used these to clean 400-700 pounds of sheepshead for our Marina customers each weekend. They are what I would call a Homeowner's type quality of a electric Fillet knife. It will cut that Redfish but due to the size of it you may have to make 2 passes due to the thickness, but it will cut it.. Remember, this is not a commercial fillet knife but very capable and extremely sharp. I hope this helps you out. Ideal Marine Supply, Steinhatchee, Fl.
Answer: I have cleaned 40 inch pike with it so I don't see why not
Answer: Slow and steady...do not force blade
Q:
Will this electric knife deliver thin, deli style slices of roast?
Answer: Absolutely! This is the best electric knife I have ever owned.
Answer: My husband uses this to filet all of the fish he catches. He says it is the most durable knife he has ever used and it cuts very thin pieces of small fish so it should work on meat, but he's never used it other than on fish so....
Answer: Yes it will if you can slice it that thin
Answer: Not in my estimation, I think you need a meat slicer. The right tool for the right job.
Q:
Does it good for raw meat? (Beef/Pork/Chicken....etc)
Answer: Have never done raw meat but it works great on everything else.
Answer: Yes, it works fine. I use it quite often on partially frozen roast beef to cube it for stews.
Answer: I have not used mine for that purpose but I think it would work fine.
Q:
I'm looking to cut through a roll of paper towels. Has anyone tried this? How did the knife perform?
Answer: the knife performed amazing on fish I'm paper towels I don't know
Answer: Sorry, never tried to cut paper towels. Works great on fish, turkey and rib roast though!
Q:
I'm looking for an electric knife to separate pork ribs for my dogs. Will this cut through rib meat and cartilage?
Answer: I use this more for cutting meat like Turkey, Ribs, Brisket, and Pork Shoulder.
Product reviews of Mister Twister 120V Electric Knife (Green/Yellow)
RJS : A CUT ABOVE!
Looking for a top-notch electric knife without breaking the bank? Look NO further. This baby does the job with ease. Blades are sharp, effortlessly slicing through meats, fish and poultry. I am not aware of how it performs on foam and other non-food items. It fits my hand very comfortably with no issues related either to size or button placement. My use is quick jobs, cutting roast, turkey, ham and the like, so I have had no issues with overheating during prolonged use. For the average user, this unit is definitely several cuts above (no pun intended) the competition!
Naddydingoes : It’s a classic
It’s a mr. twister, cheap and works good
Amazon Customer : Do not bother to buy this junk
The worst I have ever thought I could see as a knife.
I wanted to return. They do not issue return labels. I have to go to a UPS store and...
I am leaving it in the trash. My time worth more than 30 $.
Morgan McNeely : Best knife hands down
Deboned has more than 1000 fish in 2020 and haven’t changed blades yet. Can’t justify buying the Lithium Bubba blade knife over this one. This is the 3rd one I’ve owned.
D.Gustafson : Great way to speed up your fish cleaning if you have power available.
So far this has worked very well for me. I got this to speed up my time filleting large number of pan-fish and so far it has worked well. I would never get rid of my non electric fillet knives but this make a nice addition to them.
Charles R. Baringer : Great
I have used other brands and they are good to but the blades on them are not as sharp as these and they have deep serrated edges that make them almost impossible to sharpen. These are almost like a steak knife and can be sharpened easier. The only draw back is the cord is too short and coiled for storage. You have to use extension cord. But still recommend them over other brands, these are also about half the price of other electric fillet knifes for fish.
Robert E Lagore : Had my first one for 21 years.
I just bought my second Mister Twister after 21 years. Used the first one at the Chesapeake Bay to fillet 100's of Croakers.
I have changed the blades 2 times after using it for catfish, crappies, striped bass, and large mouth bass. A good reliable product. I dropped the old knife too many times and it is starting to get hot when using it.
Big W : Works great!
I love these fillets knives. They make filleting perch and walleye very fast. I had one for many years and it got lost in our last move so I had to get another one. I would not be without one ever again.
Be careful with it though, It cuts very deep, very fast.
I also use it for turkey, ham or whatever meat we are having.
Lisa K. : Love this knife
This is the only knife we use and have used for years. They last along time. Wouldn't buy any other knife to fillet our fish
Kim A. Hardey : reliable workhorse fish cleaning knife
I clean fish each week . keep this knife in a waterproof box in the trunk of my Ridgeline.
Makes cleaning fish easy at a very fair price
D.Gustafson : Great way to speed up your fish cleaning if you have power available.
So far this has worked very well for me. I got this to speed up my time filleting large number of pan-fish and so far it has worked well. I would never get rid of my non electric fillet knives but this make a nice addition to them.
ernie73 : Best knife to fillet with.
This is the only knife I will ever buy. Easy to handle and gets the job done quickly.
Clgmaui : Invest in excellent manual knife!
Have had 4 electric knives in47 yrs...this is 2nd one of this brand. Original was great..this one awful. Blades click in, run propely when you hit the button but as soon as you try to cut the blades separate and pop out.
Nathan T. : Easy maneuverability
I first had my doubts when I purchased this product because it was less expensive then the competitors. After using it on a couple hindered pan fish, I found out how easy it was to maneuver and how sharp the blades stayed.
john : VERY USEFUL!
I can't remember how many electric filet knives I have bought, but it's a lot. After my last one broke, a friend suggest ed the Mr Twister. Not sorry I bought this. I have used it for 2 years now, and it works just like new. Also you can buy replacement blades separately. The Mr Twister blades are simply the sharpest blade available. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this knife.
Kate8 : Dull blades!
I recently purchased for my husband who was needing a new electric knife. I thought this was a good deal considering how much they were in stores. At first, my husband loved it. Filleted maybe 3 fish. After that, the knife went dull. If you can help it, I wouldn't buy this knife. Invest a little more money into something better that is going to last longer or just keep pouring money into this and replacing the blades.
Corey : I must have gotten a lemon
Unfortunately the motor blew and it began to smoke seconds into the 1st time I used it. I must have gotten a lemon Very disappointing
fussy shopper : I used it to cut memory foam
Worked really well for cutting a 1 1/2 inch memory foam mattress topper I used to make a headboard. Now that have it and that project is completed I will probably use it in the kitchen to cut a turkey or roast. It is easy to handle.
JR : week motor
I have used this about 4 times since purchased December 20. The last time i used it the knife ran for only 10 seconds then stoped. waited 10 min then ran about 10 seconds. Very dissapointed in the knife. I only replaced to dull blades on old one. Warrenty to return has long gone. I tried calling about two year warrenty on package and got answering machine twice, left message and never recieved a call back. So i guess the two year warrenty is as good as the knife itself. At this point I would not recomand to any one.
Amazon Customer : Great as a starter!
I bought this for my husband and he loves it! It does the job and I have no complaints!
Clgmaui : Invest in excellent manual knife!

Lovetowing : Works great
Ordered from Amazon for a really good price-got it in just one day which really impressed me. I used it for the first time today to clean 16 medium/small blue-gill, crappie and yellow perch. VERY impressed how much faster I can filet even the smaller fish compared to using just a regular filet knife (sharp Rapala). My wife and I love eating blue-gill and crappie with the skin on so she scales them while I filet. You make the first cut behind the gills down to the back-bone, angle the blade flat and follow the back-bone all the way to the tail cutting right thru the ribs and off at the tail. Now take your electric knife and just go to the ribs left on the filet and "flick" them out and your left with a perfect bone-less (skin-on) filet. My wife was "almost" a little upset with me when I first used the electric knife as I could now filet Faster than she can scale them! My ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is after filleting the 16 fish it smelled "hot" and even felt fairly warm in my hand from running it that short time-hoping it's just because it was brand new and just "breaking in) (??) Has a 2 year warranty so if it's defective I'll have time to figure it out.If you clean a lot of fish and have never thought of using an electric filet knife for cleaning your fish give this a try-you won't be sorry you did.

Teacher : My Original Mister Twister Only Lasted Two Years
This is my second knife in a little over two years. The first knife cleaned many walleyes, then one of the blades stopped reciprocating.
After opening the plastic case I found that the nylon gear and its accompanying housing had simply worn out.
My only option for a fix was to ship the unit back to the manufacturer and pay $10.00 to have it repaired.
When I totaled the amount I would have invested in shipping and repairing the old unit versus buying a new unit (complete with a new blade) I chose to purchase this new knife.
I will give this new knife the opportunity to last more than a couple years and if it fails I will then go to another brand. The main unit should certainly outlast one set of blades.
Ciaran M. Smith : Works great!
We fish a lot...gave this to my husband for Valentine's Day and it works great. He still needs to master it to get the most meat off the fish but, he's doing good! It's fast and easy to clean.
Andrew Durr : This thing is legit!
Received this yesterday. Never used an electric fillet knife of any kind. I breezed through 21 Crappie like it was nothing. Like anything else it takes practice. Once I got to my 6th fish I found my groove. You can literally fillet a fish in one minute once you get it down. I'm usually traumatized after filleting so many fish. I'm a believer! This thing is legit... I just hope it lasts a while.
Dennis L : Cord is very short.
Cord is very short. I don't know why everybody has to put such a short cord. After awhile it gets rather old carrying around an extension cord.

Faith : Used For Memory Foam Mattress Customization
I bought a twin sized memory foam mattress to replace my couch cushions as they press on my hip nerve. This knife goes through a 6-inch thick memory foam mattress like it was cutting through butter! I also used it to make some custom cushions out of the extra foam pieces and it carves right through to make contoured shapes. I have never used it for carving through meat or other foods, but I love this knife. If it can go through long lengths of memory foam without overheating or clogging up, I am sure it would be great for carving anything else you have in mind.
Charles R. Baringer : Great

Handy Man : Highly recommend!
This knife works great. Replacement blades are cheap to buy and you can buy different length blades. I like the longer blades. These are half the price of most electric knives. Worth every penny.
Barry A. Brown : Old Faithful!
This is my second purchase of this Electric Knife!
The first one was made sometime in the early 1990s and I used it up until a few months ago literally filleting thousands of panfish!
So after nearly 30 years the knife started getting hot when I used it for more than 10 minutes or so. I retired it and bought the new one.
At 52 years Young, I would consider myself very lucky to outlive my 2nd Mr Twister Knife!
Stan : Very sharp blades, easy to hold on
I wish the power cord was not currley, if you need to clean a big fish or away from the power you need to start to streach out the cord. A longer straight cord whould be handy.

Al : Not Good
I find this electric knife very poor at best. While it's cheap it isn't even worth that. I guess you get what you pay for. Better to use a manual knife that is sharp. Maybe it's the cheap blades, I not sure but I have used other electric knifes that work well. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
jae : Works as expected
Works as described. A little bulky.
Gary_F : So dull that it is useless
After reading the reviews I felt confident that this was a good knife.
Today we used it to fillet some bluegill and bass and I was greatly disappointed. The blades are so dull that I can run my thumb over them and not get cut. We ended up using a regular fillet knife to clean our catch.
Larry L. : Its ok
Not ask heavy and durable as what I wanted.
Amazon Customer : Love it!
Don’t pay more for half the knife, this gets the job done. Fairly new at cleaning fish with an electric, mostly wanted it for redfish. The Rapala I bought broke after the second use. At the fish stand a guy had this knife and ripped through 3 redfish perfectly in about 2 minutes so I ordered it and tried it out today. Can’t speak for the really expensive ones but this is a great value and worked great.

Nathan T. : Easy maneuverability
I first had my doubts when I purchased this product because it was less expensive then the competitors. After using it on a couple hindered pan fish, I found out how easy it was to maneuver and how sharp the blades stayed.
Kayaker : Last through hundreds of fish cleaning.
This is the same electric knife we used for years cleaning hundreds of fish. It is comfortable in your hand and makes filleting fish easy. It is stronger and more durable than the electric knife used in your kitchen.
ernie73 : Best knife to fillet with.
This is the only knife I will ever buy. Easy to handle and gets the job done quickly.
Chris Sasarman : Fillet and de-skin a fish nice and easy
I caught some big size bass and walleye this summer, and sure I'm glad I had this electric knife to clean them up. You can fillet a fish nice and easy, going even though the big bones. Blades are thin and very flexible, you can also remove the skin from a fillet easily. It cleans and stores easily. Highly recommend!
Joya H : Great buy
Best priced knife. I bought it to slice crusty sourdough. Haven’t baked one since purchasing, but it should work fine. I used it to saw off the end of a roll of parchment paper and it worked great. Easy to use. The coiled cord is awkward, but I’m okay with it. A friend of mine has a GE knife and it looks exactly the same except for the wild green and yellow color.
billy j johnson jr. : Two Stars
Wanted to give it 5 stars, but....
We trotline for flathead catfish and needed a good knife to speed up the cleaning process. I was impressed with the weight and feel of the knife and it seemed rather peppy, like it would have the power to fillet forty pound catfish. On the first time cleaning with it everything went great, it had plenty of power to get the job done and we cleaned a mess of good sized catfish in no time at all. After four trips we noticed an odor coming from the knife and it was a little warm (not hot) so we let it cool down and continued to use it. Everything went ok. On the fifth trip we started cleaning and about the fourth fish in POOF! The knife was done and we had to finish up the old school way. We really liked having the knife so my fishing buddy bought the blue and white version of this (Mister twister Piranah) and we started using it. So far so good, but we really only use it to remove the skin from the fillets now. Filleting the sides off of large catfish may have been too much for it. For smaller fish I'm sure it would have been fine.
Sue : Great for fileting
This electric knife was purchased to filet fish for which it is great. Have not used it for anything else but I can see that it would be useful for carving roasts. Happy with purchase.
Amazon Customer : Great as a starter!
I bought this for my husband and he loves it! It does the job and I have no complaints!
