Answer: We caught 85 perch, crappie and blue gills the other day. Took two hours to clean and fillet all of them. Works fantastic on perch, sunfish, crappies, bass, kokanee and walleye.

Answer: I have not used it for cutting bread, but I think it would work great, super for all kinds of meats and fish. The blades look like the hand knife I cut bread with. Answer: Nope. It is all sealed. This is the second Mr. Twister I have owned. The first one cleaned 100s of wet, slimy fish and cut up many a deer...not to mention holiday turkeys and hams. It could shave a ham or a turkey better than your local deli. And the great thing is, you don't have to worry about using it wet! After about 12 years of HARD use, my first one died and I immediately replaced it. There's no better electric knife made!

When turned on they slide against each other to give you a slicing action for cutting what you you want sliced. For filleting fish it takes some practice. But once that is learned cleaning fish is so much easier . I would go to youtube for tips on filleting fish with this knife . Enjoy .

Answer: I have 35+ years of experience with these....My daughter used these to clean 400-700 pounds of sheepshead for our Marina customers each weekend. They are what I would call a Homeowner's type quality of a electric Fillet knife. It will cut that Redfish but due to the size of it you may have to make 2 passes due to the thickness, but it will cut it.. I bought a twin sized memory foam mattress to replace my couch cushions as they press on my hip nerve. This knife goes through a 6-inch thick memory foam mattress like it was cutting through butter! I also used it to make some custom cushions out of the extra foam pieces and it carves right through to make contoured shapes. I have never used it for carving through meat or other foods, but I love this knife. If it can go through long lengths of memory foam without overheating or clogging up, I am sure it would be great for carving anything else you have in mind.

I have used this about 4 times since purchased December 20. The last time i used it the knife ran for only 10 seconds then stoped. waited 10 min then ran about 10 seconds. Very dissapointed in the knife. I only replaced to dull blades on old one. Warrenty to return has long gone. I tried calling about two year warrenty on package and got answering machine twice, left message and never recieved a call back. So i guess the two year warrenty is as good as the knife itself. At this point I would not recomand to any one.

Received this yesterday. Never used an electric fillet knife of any kind. I breezed through 21 Crappie like it was nothing. Like anything else it takes practice. Once I got to my 6th fish I found my groove. You can literally fillet a fish in one minute once you get it down. I'm usually traumatized after filleting so many fish. I'm a believer! This thing is legit... I just hope it lasts a while.

Don't waste your money on a household electric knife. This is my second Mr. Twister. The first one went through so many wet fish, deer, rabbits, etc. and finally died. I immediately bought a second. Hams, turkeys, and roasts are nothing for Mr. Twister. Shave your own sandwich meats.

Ordered from Amazon for a really good price-got it in just one day which really impressed me. I used it for the first time today to clean 16 medium/small blue-gill, crappie and yellow perch. VERY impressed how much faster I can filet even the smaller fish compared to using just a regular filet knife (sharp Rapala). My wife and I love eating blue-gill and crappie with the skin on so she scales them while I filet. You make the first cut behind the gills down to the back-bone, angle the blade flat and follow the back-bone all the way to the tail cutting right thru the ribs and off at the tail.Now take your electric knife and just go to the ribs left on the filet and "flick" them out and your left with a perfect bone-less (skin-on) filet. My wife was "almost" a little upset with me when I first used the electric knife as I could now filet Faster than she can scale them! My ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is after filleting the 16 fish it smelled "hot" and even felt fairly warm in my hand from running it that short time-hoping it's just because it was brand new and just "breaking in) (??) I bought this for my boyfriend to cut the foam in his gun case I read reviews on several different ones before deciding on this one. He was not disappointed he said it worked perfectly for wat he needed the only complaint he had was the cord was incredibly short but he remedied that with an extension cord..he thinks this will work great for meats and fish too..

I recently purchased for my husband who was needing a new electric knife. I thought this was a good deal considering how much they were in stores. At first, my husband loved it. Filleted maybe 3 fish. After that, the knife went dull. If you can help it, I wouldn't buy this knife. Invest a little more money into something better that is going to last longer or just keep pouring money into this and replacing the blades.

I caught some big size bass and walleye this summer, and sure I'm glad I had this electric knife to clean them up. You can fillet a fish nice and easy, going even though the big bones. Blades are thin and very flexible, you can also remove the skin from a fillet easily. It cleans and stores easily. Highly recommend!

My old Rappala was wearing out so I was searching for a new electric that was reasonable but worked. After seeing all the reviews on Mr Twister i thought i found the perfect replacement. WRONG. I was excited to use it on my first catch of walleye since i received it. My first dissatisfaction came when i plugged it in and found the short coiled cord was going to be an issue. They should have had an uncoiled long cord as the coil tension really restricted the use of the knife. My second disappointment was how it cut. The blades are not flexible like on my rappala and the supposed powerful motor bogged down when doing the filet cut which messed up the filet and wasted meat. They are cheaper priced for a reason and I am baffled by all the good reviews. Maybe it works ok on sun fish or some other species but for me I'm paying more and getting a good knife. Mr. Twister is hitting my garage sale. UPDATE. I found a way to make this usable, buy or use your old rappelling blades by grinding off the square corner of the blade that goes into the handle, see my picture. The rappella will now lock into the handle. Also with the cord to make it less coilly, start at the knife and keeping good tension pull your hand towards the end of the cord which will tend to uncool the cord. I can not filet fish again without cursing this knife.

I have been looking for this knife my entire life, well once I grew up. (74 now!) ???? The sliced Turkey breast in the photo has been my goal which was unattainable until Mister Twister. Was able to get evenly cut slices.The other electric knives just made a mess. I love the sharpened tip on the blade vs a rounded blunt end. I was leery of the twisted cord vs straight but it was great too. Easier to maneuver.

I bought this to primarily cut bread and it does a great job! The only thing I don’t like is the spiral cord. It seems a bit short. I did however figure out that you can just stretch the cord with your barehands to give you more cord to work with. Problem solved.

I have used this about 4 times since purchased December 20. The last time i used it the knife ran for only 10 seconds then stoped. waited 10 min then ran about 10 seconds. Very dissapointed in the knife. I only replaced to dull blades on old one. Warrenty to return has long gone. I tried calling about two year warrenty on package and got answering machine twice, left message and never recieved a call back. So i guess the two year warrenty is as good as the knife itself. At this point I would not recomand to any one.

We fish a lot...gave this to my husband for Valentine's Day and it works great. He still needs to master it to get the most meat off the fish but, he's doing good! It's fast and easy to clean.

Received this yesterday. Never used an electric fillet knife of any kind. I breezed through 21 Crappie like it was nothing. Like anything else it takes practice. Once I got to my 6th fish I found my groove. You can literally fillet a fish in one minute once you get it down. I'm usually traumatized after filleting so many fish. I'm a believer! This thing is legit... I just hope it lasts a while.

I have been looking for this knife my entire life, well once I grew up. (74 now!) ???? The sliced Turkey breast in the photo has been my goal which was unattainable until Mister Twister. Was able to get evenly cut slices.The other electric knives just made a mess. I love the sharpened tip on the blade vs a rounded blunt end. I was leery of the twisted cord vs straight but it was great too. Easier to maneuver.

Best priced knife. I bought it to slice crusty sourdough. Haven’t baked one since purchasing, but it should work fine. I used it to saw off the end of a roll of parchment paper and it worked great. Easy to use. The coiled cord is awkward, but I’m okay with it. A friend of mine has a GE knife and it looks exactly the same except for the wild green and yellow color.

I wouldn't recommend this for fish over a couple of pounds but works great on smaller fish for the price! They have plastic parts that won't hold up to fish with tough skin and bigger bones. For fish less than 5 lbs. it's great!

I bought this to cut a foam twin mattress to fit on a day bed. I cut it down smoothly in less than two minutes and saved myself a lot of money because I didn’t have to buy a custom mattress. The next time I used it was to slice a prime rib roast. It cut it like butter and the slices looked like restaurant cuts.

Husband constantly fishes and cleaning some larger fish. This is a pretty good product and it lasted him about a year although he can wear out even the most expensive electric knife very fast with all the fish he cleans. The blades are replaceable and so we just got some more blades because he has a tendency to cut into a cutting board while cleaning them and removing all the parts, etc. So the knife itself is still usable and in great shape but if you clean fish like he does then order an extra set of blades!

This electric knife was purchased to filet fish for which it is great. Have not used it for anything else but I can see that it would be useful for carving roasts. Happy with purchase.

Have had 4 electric knives in47 yrs...this is 2nd one of this brand. Original was great..this one awful. Blades click in, run propely when you hit the button but as soon as you try to cut the blades separate and pop out.

I just bought my second Mister Twister after 21 years. Used the first one at the Chesapeake Bay to fillet 100's of Croakers.
I have changed the blades 2 times after using it for catfish, crappies, striped bass, and large mouth bass. A good reliable product. I dropped the old knife too many times and it is starting to get hot when using it.
