Answer: This model is the cheaper of the 02 models that appear on Amazon. The other model, Gent's Best, is more expensive. I own this, the less expensive model. Have used it to cut beef, pork and poultry (cooked and raw) for 02 years with stellar results. My usage is occasional, no more than 1-2x a month. So far I am very satisfied!

Answer: I have yet to sharpen the blades even after filleting over 100 fish, as they still cut well. I do know that were available when I purchased the knife. I also think that one could sharpen the blades using a method appropriate for sharpening serrated blades.

Answer: Made in China. I've had a Mister Twister that is still going strong after 15 years. I wouldn't even guess how many thousand perch I've filleted in that time during ice season. How is this for filleting bluegill and crappie? I notice other knives have curved blades for smaller fish, does the straight blade make it harder?

Answer: We caught 85 perch, crappie and blue gills the other day. Took two hours to clean and fillet all of them. Works fantastic on perch, sunfish, crappies, bass, kokanee and walleye.

Answer: I have not used it for cutting bread, but I think it would work great, super for all kinds of meats and fish. The blades look like the hand knife I cut bread with. Answer: Nope. It is all sealed. This is the second Mr. Twister I have owned. The first one cleaned 100s of wet, slimy fish and cut up many a deer...not to mention holiday turkeys and hams. It could shave a ham or a turkey better than your local deli. And the great thing is, you don't have to worry about using it wet! After about 12 years of HARD use, my first one died and I immediately replaced it. There's no better electric knife made!

Answer: It didn't last but two cleanings and it stopped working. It made a buzzing sound after that and wouldn't work. The two times used was ONLY for a couple of fish. We didn't use it immediately upon getting it, so by the time it had happened, it was ONE day past the return date.

Answer: Mine came with a small, clear plastic sleeve, about 2" in length, enough to protect the tip. The sleeve is thin and not designed for full-blade protection.

Answer: Use both blades. They should lock together and then you insert them into the knife. It won’t work with one blade!

Answer: As with all electric knives you must use both blades at once.

Answer: Oh yes ! At the tip one of the knives plugs into the other then flat together they are pushed into the handle. They will seat . When turned on they slide against each other to give you a slicing action for cutting what you you want sliced. For filleting fish it takes some practice. But once that is learned cleaning fish is so much easier . I would go to youtube for tips on filleting fish with this knife . Enjoy .

Can this capable of fillet 32 inches bull red (fish)?

Answer: I have 35+ years of experience with these....My daughter used these to clean 400-700 pounds of sheepshead for our Marina customers each weekend. They are what I would call a Homeowner's type quality of a electric Fillet knife. It will cut that Redfish but due to the size of it you may have to make 2 passes due to the thickness, but it will cut it.. Mr. twister. Where do I start! I've been looking for weeks for ways to cut foam I've read I've watched YouTube I've done everything the electric knife is really the only way to cut this polyfoam for like mattresses the hard foam you can cut with a hot knife or a hot plate but this you need . Mr. twister. I got this new phone I had already driven on the lines on the phone I thought about how I would hold or cut it cut it like butter it was amazing I went to put this in my RV cut the semi circle corner instantly it was amazing Mr. twister is the best electric knife I've ever owned thank you.

Wanted to give it 5 stars, but....
We trotline for flathead catfish and needed a good knife to speed up the cleaning process. I was impressed with the weight and feel of the knife and it seemed rather peppy, like it would have the power to fillet forty pound catfish. On the first time cleaning with it everything went great, it had plenty of power to get the job done and we cleaned a mess of good sized catfish in no time at all. After four trips we noticed an odor coming from the knife and it was a little warm (not hot) so we let it cool down and continued to use it. Everything went ok. On the fifth trip we started cleaning and about the fourth fish in POOF! The knife was done and we had to finish up the old school way. We really liked having the knife so my fishing buddy bought the blue and white version of this (Mister twister Piranah) and we started using it. So far so good, but we really only use it to remove the skin from the fillets now. Filleting the sides off of large catfish may have been too much for it. For smaller fish I'm sure it would have been fine.

I caught some big size bass and walleye this summer, and sure I'm glad I had this electric knife to clean them up. You can fillet a fish nice and easy, going even though the big bones. Blades are thin and very flexible, you can also remove the skin from a fillet easily. It cleans and stores easily. Highly recommend!

So I'm not an avid fisher. BUT, I love to fish for panfish. When I do it's to restock my fridge, freezer and belly. I went out a couple weeks ago and caught 22 (bluegill, crapi and perch). When it comes time to cleaning and filleting, it's not as fun as the fishing portion. For over 30 years I've trusted my craft and have chosen to always fillet with a fillet knife. NOT ANY MORE!!! For the win :) This is a great device, easy to clean and does the job in a fraction of the time. You will still need to use a regular rib knife to remove the rib sections from the fillets, but this is a total time saver. If there is any bad reviews, it's because the user didn't know how to fillet in the first place.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. I am so sorry to have to give a bad review, but this Mr Twister is nothing like the one we’re replacing. It was an amazing product and lasted us many years, but the blades on this new one wouldn’t cut hot butter! My husband ruined two crappie before finally going and digging out our old one and just using it, which still wasn’t great since those blades were so old and dull, but even then the one one was 10 times better than the new one!

I fish Florida Bay for mangrove snapper. This knife has taken the work out of filleting. Works as well on the large fish as it does on a 12” fish. This was supposed to be a cheap trial knife that would help me determine if I wanted an electric knife. This, to me, is as good as an electric knife can operate, I’ll stick with it.

Fifty Toes : Slice bread like butter

We make our own bread and needed a better system than the standard bread knife which mutilated my bread. So we bought this Mister Twister and it is the best thing since sliced bread. It is so smooth. No going back and forth, just lightly press and zoom! It cut up three loaves perfectly and was super fast. No more squished bread in this house.
It did get warm after the 3 loaves and the one thing that would make it better would be a longer cord. But I would definitely recommend for the home baker.

I bought a twin sized memory foam mattress to replace my couch cushions as they press on my hip nerve. This knife goes through a 6-inch thick memory foam mattress like it was cutting through butter! I also used it to make some custom cushions out of the extra foam pieces and it carves right through to make contoured shapes. I have never used it for carving through meat or other foods, but I love this knife. If it can go through long lengths of memory foam without overheating or clogging up, I am sure it would be great for carving anything else you have in mind.

Looking for a top-notch electric knife without breaking the bank? Look NO further. This baby does the job with ease. Blades are sharp, effortlessly slicing through meats, fish and poultry. I am not aware of how it performs on foam and other non-food items. It fits my hand very comfortably with no issues related either to size or button placement. My use is quick jobs, cutting roast, turkey, ham and the like, so I have had no issues with overheating during prolonged use. For the average user, this unit is definitely several cuts above (no pun intended) the competition!

I wanted a durable, sturdy electric knife for kitchen use (roasts, etc). I was very pleased. Did heavy leg of lamb nicely. Cord is kinda limiting. Have to move my cutting board close to outlet to use knife safely. Blades attach & clean easy. I like the heavy plastic blade tip cover... helps with safe storage.

Worked really good on some walleye. Can’t beat it for $20. Only down fall is you can’t really bend the blades but it works great.

I have used this about 4 times since purchased December 20. The last time i used it the knife ran for only 10 seconds then stoped. waited 10 min then ran about 10 seconds. Very dissapointed in the knife. I only replaced to dull blades on old one. Warrenty to return has long gone. I tried calling about two year warrenty on package and got answering machine twice, left message and never recieved a call back. So i guess the two year warrenty is as good as the knife itself. At this point I would not recomand to any one.

I don't fish, but I buy meat in bulk because its much cheaper. Husband and I have been using this knife, (which I originally purchased to slice bread,) take whole chicken breast and thin slice, like you would get in a supermarket. We then season, vacuum seal, and stuff the freezer. Its been one of the best things ever and this knife is a HUUUGE help. Prior to this we would use a chefs knife to cut the meat and there is just no comparison... Mr. Twister is fast and easy to clean. Great buy!

Received this yesterday. Never used an electric fillet knife of any kind. I breezed through 21 Crappie like it was nothing. Like anything else it takes practice. Once I got to my 6th fish I found my groove. You can literally fillet a fish in one minute once you get it down. I'm usually traumatized after filleting so many fish. I'm a believer! This thing is legit... I just hope it lasts a while.
