Answer: It says origin is USA, however, don't buy it. Go with a Rapala Filleting knife. You'll be glad you did and its not much more in cost.

Answer: That's the length of the whole knife, handle and all. The actual cutting surface (blade) is 7.25". Nice knife for the $$

The knife is a little to cheap. It's flimsy and not that good of a knife I'm sure it would be rather challenging to filet with this. It's also a saftey hazard, the case is very lose and has no strap so it often falls off and one time when it did I sliced my hand . don't get this an awful product

This is a good fillet knife with a good balanced feel to it. When You consider the price and the free shipping, it is worth buying. I always use an American angler electric fillet knife for filleting all of my fish, and would not consider using anything else for that purpose. However this is a good compliment to that, (to do my minor trimming up of my fillets). I really like the wood handle. There is a hard plastic insert inside the leather like sheath, so the knife does not cut the sheath. I just received the knife, so I can not verify previous comments as to how well it keeps its edge yet. Hope this helps... and here is hoping You keep a tight line !

I got this knife today from Amazon. It is not too sharp, but I am hoping that I will be able to put an acceptable edge on it. The blade had flex as you would expect from a fillet knife. The handle is well made. The sheath is not that good, but I will be putting this in my tackle box, so it won't matter anyway. I haven't had the chance to cut anything with it, but I will give it a try soon.
