Questions about Bomber Lures Paradise Popper X-Treme Popping Cork Float for Carolina Rig
Q:
Does this contain lead?
Answer: If it has brass in it; it probably has lead in it. Up to 8% is allowed by law.
Answer: Don’t think so. Weights below cork are made of brass.
Answer: No. It’s a surface popper
Answer: No
Q:
How big/long are these corks?
Answer: 8-9 inches. Dont have it sitting in front of me but I would say 8 inches
Answer: 2.5”
Q:
What lb is the wire leader?
Answer: The wire in this cork is not a leader, but it's heavier than anything you're likely to hook up. Still, you'll need to add a leader (fluorocarbon is best) between the popper and your hook, depending on the depth you're looking for. After reading about some failures at the loops, I gave the crimps another squeeze to ensure they were secure.
Q:
Does this work on jack crevalles?
Answer: I've caught a few jacks using these. I don't normally target them however.
Answer: It'll work on anything with a pulse!
Answer: the bomber is for bay fishing you can try it for deep sea fishing I don't know what is the test pound on the leader
Q:
What are these for?
Answer: bait hangs under just like a bobber but when you jerk on them upon retrieval, they make a popping sound, which sounds like a wounded fish. works very well
Answer: Float holds bait off bottom, also signals you when fish and will also make a popping noise when you tweak the line. Make tough to last a long time
Answer: Obviously, they are a float for suspending bait at a desired level. The unique aspect of this type of float is that with a light twitch of the rod they make a popping sound which is intended to attract fish to the location of the bait. I've only used them in the coastal waters of Charleston, SC but found them effective under certain conditions. Setting the depth of the hook is accomplished with different lengths of leader/hook set up.
Answer: When you are salt water fishing, you jerk on these and they make a noise...supposedly like a shrimp
Answer: They create a surface disturbance that attracts fish to your lure or bait.
Answer: It is a popping cork for salt water fishing. Look up popping cork.
Q:
is the oval one lighter or are both 1 oz
Answer: They Should Be Both The Same Weight. I Would Reccomend The Cajun Thunder. They Make More Noise In The Water Which Is Better For Attracting Redfish & Trout Etc.
Answer: I'm not sure. The wire broke the first time I used it so I threw it away.
Q:
will it work for California barred surf perch?
Answer: Me gusta mucho buen producto
Q:
What is the weight of this?
Answer: it is medium weight for a solid float
Answer: I’m not sure the exact weight but I can tell you that there’s just enough weight to be able to cast it fine.
Q:
can i cast this far?
Answer: Hello,
Q:
I do video reviews can I review ur products ?
Answer: depends on the item
Q:
This is like wire leader ? Need to use with hook or lure ?
Answer: The bobber or cork is mounted to this wire, about 6-8" of travel. You will have to use leader material to the your hook or lure on.
Q:
what is the weight?
Answer: About 1/2 oz. Titanium wire. The float deteriorated over time when stores in tackle box. Store outside and it was great.
Q:
What is the gange of wire used in the cork? Does anyone know what size crimp is used on the loops? Thanks
Answer: I can't answer because the first time I used it it broke and I threw it away
Q:
where is this popper made?
Q:
What is the length of this popping rig?
Answer: The wire is 8" and the float is 2 3/8". It's the most durable popping cork I've found.
Answer: Approximately 8”-10”
Answer: Approximately 12 inches
Q:
Whats the difference between Cajun thunder in loudnes?
Answer: Don’t know haven’t used a Cajun Thunder. But this one is very audible. It makes a very decent pop that does get the fishes attention.
Q:
Anybody use this in freshwater?
Answer: Only used it In brackish water and saltwater. But I’m sure it will work just as good.
Answer: yes, it is good. It works well with the fresh water.
Answer: Never have no reason why you could not. May not draw in as much.
Answer: Just used in salt water. Works as advertised
Answer: Me gustan mucho, hacen su trabajo de alertar a los peces
Q:
How many poppers come with this?
Answer: Just one, I would steer clear of these I bought 6 last year and all failed at the same spot all with in the first 3-4wks of use. The top hoop that holds the swivel fails, lost 3 big fish this way and threw the other 3 away unopened. I watched my catch swim away with my hook and popper still stuck in their jaw.
Answer: It's just one popper
Q:
is this only for saltwater? anyone tried this for lake or reservoir?
Answer: It works quite well in fresh water. The popping noise seems to attract fish.
Q:
Is this weighted or do i need to add one? If so what size?
Answer: add bait on a leader and fish away
Answer: It is sufficiently weighted for casting.
Q:
Im looking to use these with live shrimp around inshore sw florida with 2/0 j hooks. figured id get better casting and noise. good idea vs free line?
Answer: You will definitely get better casting and noise with these, but free lining is another great way to fish. I do both with about the same results. Good fishing!
Q:
What color cork is recommended for fishing on the NC surf?
Answer: Look at you local fishing regulations for that info.
Answer: Color doesn't matter in my opinion. Good luck in NC.
Answer: I keep one yellow and one orange....for me it just depends on how much sunlight. I like yellow in the early morning, orange at dusk.
Q:
Can I use glow sticks with this popper for night fishing?
Answer: No
Q:
what is the difference between the Oval and the Popper?
Answer: Popper is cupped and makes a lot more noise, better for low visibility water, oval is your standard shaped popping cork except with titanium wire. Great popping corks. I wont buy anything else after using these.
Answer: The oval float is a good float and as one pops the line in retrieve it makes a smaller water displacement and lower noise then the popper style float. The popper makes significantly more noise and water displacement. One can readily see the cone shape at the retrieving end that allows for this.
Answer: Oval calm water, popper rougher water
Answer: Popper makes a large splash when jerked.
Answer: The pictured float makes a very distinct popping noise which attracts fish where the oval or rounded does not.
Answer: don't no
Q:
are they weighted at the bottom of the cork??
Answer: Yes the two bottom beads are made of brass, they help weight the bottom so it stands up straight in the water. Hands down the best popping cork you can buy.
Answer: No
Q:
Does this contain lead?
Answer: If it has brass in it; it probably has lead in it. Up to 8% is allowed by law.
Answer: Don’t think so. Weights below cork are made of brass.
Answer: No. It’s a surface popper
Answer: No
Q:
What size is the titanium wire?
Answer: Why would need to know that?
Q:
tried it for shore fishing, attached a lure with 5 feet from it but after throwing ,it come back to me with waves, want it to go away as far as possib
Answer: This cork wasnt really designed to be fished quite that deep. Be better off with one of the adjustable corks. I use this one with about 2ft maybe 2.5 ft leader and it gets hammered
Answer: It's a popping cork rig. No made to use as a float. You cast and retrieve it snapping your rod every few feet to make it pop to attract fish
Answer: Well you need to do a bit of googling. That’s not the popping corks fault, google tides/currents and watch a video all about it.
Q:
how are these things rigged ?
Answer: Tie the line from your rod to the top of the rig. I use yozuri 25 lb test leader for the bottom side of the rig about 2 feet long. Then us a weighted bait at the other end of leader. I like to use a vudu shrimp with procure or gulp shrimp scent.
Answer: I rig them with a mono leader based on the water depth, a jig head, and a soft plastic or Gulp.
Answer: Tie it between the main line and a 2-3 foot leader with the concave part of the bobber pointing up (towards the main line). At the other end of the leader, use your bait of choice (live shrimp, Gulp bait, DOA shrimp, etc). Deadly for red fish!
Answer: Pretty easy......connect line to swivel above float and then attach a fluorocarbon or mono leader to the swivel below the float and then attach your hook and bait or lure.
Answer: With a crap wire that broke the first day
Q:
Has anybody tried these on the west coast? Specifically SoCal?
Answer: Why won’t this work in SoCal I live here and I was literally about to purchase this but i would like actually reasoning as to why this isn’t good enough for here. I mean essentially it’s just a in place float that happens to displace water and make noise when jerked so why wouldn’t it work for here
Answer: No, it won’t work in California sorry.
Q:
how far does this cast?
Answer: How far it cast.
Answer: Really far
Answer: I use a 8' rod with Lews Baitcaster with 8 lb test - get about 20 yards. Can add more weight for more distance but will sink a little
Q:
are these on titanium wire?
Answer: Hello,
Answer: Yes, I went to there website and they stated it is a titanium wire.
Answer: Had 2 of 3 I ordered snap off at top eyelet with in a weekend I trashed the other one
Q:
What is the weight of this?
Answer: it is medium weight for a solid float
Answer: I’m not sure the exact weight but I can tell you that there’s just enough weight to be able to cast it fine.
Q:
Can I use it on the river for trout or salmon fishing???
Answer: I live in the Caribbean and use it in the ocean, so I couldn’t tell you yes or no. But I don’t see why not. It is a popper. Not sure how Trout or Salmon react to popping noises??
Answer: absolutely will attract fish with popping. Attracting is one thing;; catching a fish is something else
Answer: Yes. I use it for sea trout and redfish
Answer: Yes, you can. I use it for sea trout and redfish
Q:
How manny do you get?
Answer: You get one. The spring steel they use makes these the best popping cork on the market. I will not buy any other. Love theses.
Answer: Whole box of individual packages....like 6 or 8
Answer: One

Sterling Spears II : Looks Very Durable
They look and feel nice and durable. It’s made out of some sort of titanium. Don’t think this is gunna break any year soon unless a fish just goes for the cork itself lol.
jason wells : Works great

hernan : Good value
Very likely

great popper works well with a jigged gulp behind for sea trout in the sounds behind the outer banks
Joe : Must Have
Very well built had no problems at using it. The wire is flexible and strong that’s why I bought it instead of the Cajun Thunder which bends and later have to use pliers to make it straight. Overall very happy with product I caught my first Spotted trout with it :)
David Bell : The Search is OVER!
This thing makes the PERFECT sound when popped right! And I've had it on my Spinfisher V for a couple months now and it still looks brand new! I'll never buy another bobber again...

Even though it's not cheap but it looks and feels awesome... simply loves the sounds when shaking it with my hand. Have a very good feeling of this item, catching some good fishes...
Amazon Customer : Best popper available
Bought a couple thinking I would need to replace often. The only reason I had to replace the bobber - a large shark surfaced under the Popper and decided to have it for lunch. The stainless steel wire is the reason that you purchase this brand. Does not bend under hard use.
Tanya M. Cain : Half Shell
This product works great.
Don Adolpho : Deseoso por usarlo
Buena calidad, deseoso por usarlo
Amie : THEY DON'T BEND! Perfect.
I love these bobbers. The shaft is spring stainless I think, they don't bend, they flex. That helps the popper to move better on the wire and get better "pops". Also, the cupped top helps to "chug" more water than other popping bobbers. I've got the yellow/chartreusse as well and my g/f and I think you can see the yellow better but I like orange or red just because. Both are highly visible. I know they're 3 dollars more than the wally world ones and a little more than the better ones out there. THEY ARE WORTH IT! Still, Bomber, what's up with the price?? :)
Roger B : Furnished as shown
Bought these because I had trouble getting them locally.
Vern : Pro popper
It good product just haven’t used it was a great price so I got it thank you
Stephen Levy : Bobber attracts the fish
The blobbing of the bobber does attract fish. Attraction yes, but still have to land them.
Richard A. : These are nice but the cork doesn't last long
These are nice but the cork doesn't last long, the wire will not bend so that's a plus but after a couple of Red fish biting the cork they are history so the wire isn't a factor unless used for trout or some smaller fish. It would be really nice to have a durable cork on Titanium wire.
Bryan Avery : Awesome
Was as advertised and shipped in a timely manner.
GWP : Catch more fish
I believe this has increased my catch. It makes it easier to make the popping noise that attracts specks and reds.

Bryce : Great popper
Great popping action with plenty of noise definitely a go to for top water!
Amazon Customer : Looks great
Looks great
The Honest Critique : Drives The Bull Reds Nuts!
These popper bobbers make quite a racket on the surface which seems to drive the bull reds nuts. Will be buying these again!
Amazon Customer : Nothing out of the ordinary
Somewhat satisfied
Charlie : It feels nice and robust The only change I did was to ...
Can't be sure it was the popper pulling in all the fish, but I did catch more on the rod rigged with the popper than the rod rigged without while fishing in brackish waters. It feels nice and robust The only change I did was to rig a hook swivel to the leader end with 80 lb test so I wouldnt have to tie things on when I wanted to use it.
Moore : Good
Good
B. C. Lewis Sr. : Would order again
Not what I wanted
Jim Turner : Works great
Perfect bobber
Kindle Customer : Could make a better popping sound
So far so good. Seems to stand up well. it could make a better popping sound. The one it make is a bit lack luster.
Wickedzyre : Looks used but it looks ok .
I be honest it looks good but kind of look used but still can't wait to try it .
Dana Ridenour : Love this popping cork
I use this popping cork year round for inshore fishing. I fish around oyster beds, so the popping cork helps keep me from getting caught. The sound is realistic and draws the predator fish. They are a little pricey, but they work great.
Richard A. : These are nice but the cork doesn't last long

This are great for the lake and river plus inside the bay here in San Diego
Jamie demarco : excited to use this fishing tackle, I do hope the abuse during shipping doesn’t affect performance.
Came stepped on opened and bent. Damaged during shipping. However, I’ve used the product before. They work very well.
Andrew Chan : ... though it's not cheap but it looks and feels awesome..

Jason : I love these paradise poppers
I love these paradise poppers. They are loud and seem to really attract the fish. I, fishing with the kids, unfortunately are usually fishing without this so the kids can get more action and they always are catching more fish even though we are using the same weighted swim bait with gulp shrimp. I need to order more.
Adam Ali : Quality and durability
Always love me some paradise poppers ! The quality is great I switched to these a couple years ago and never looked back!
