Questions about Weston Vacuum Sealer Food Bags, 8" x 12", Quart Size, 100 Count, Transparent
Q:
Do these bags come with mesh/embossed side just as the foodsaver brand? the 200 count for this size bag from Weston shows it but this 100ct doesn't. 200ct http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00506U66M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AN5X2G5UN6UA3
Answer: Yes they do. I really like these bags because they are just as durable as Food Saver brand but much cheaper. I had tried two other competitor brands before I found these and they were just okay, they weren't as durable or as big as these are. I'm very pleased with this brand and will definitely purchase from them again.
Answer: Yes the 100 count bag also has a textured side.
Answer: I got 1 order that was smooth on both sides and 1 order that was textured on 1 side.
Answer: Yes, there's one side that's smooth plastic and the other side is meshed.
Answer: They have one side smooth and other side textured. Hope this helps.
Answer: yes
Q:
Do these bags work with Food Saver, Meal Saver hand held vacuum system? The bags I use have to have the circle in the upper right hand corner. Do these?
Answer: My Food Saver machine is NOT hand-held, and these bags work just fine. I don't see any circles in the corner.
Answer: No, these are not for hand held systems and don't have the vacuum circle. However, they do work with a FoodSaver vacuum sealer where you lay the bag into the vacuum chamber.
Answer: They do not have a circle at all but I use them with my Seal-A-Meal and they work great. I am Very happy with these & will buy them again!
Answer: These won't work with the handheld system. They do not have the circle in the upper right hand corner.
Answer: I have never used the hand held vacuum system so I honestly don't know. Sorry I can't be of more help
Answer: No, these do not have a way to use the hand help pump.
Q:
Are these bags appropriate for the "sous vide" method of cooking, where the food is cooked in a water bath after being vacuum sealed in plastic?
Answer: Yes, and I've done so frequently and successfully. I have a Weston sealer and Anova circulator. As noted by J.Richburg, these bags are described as able to "...be boiled in water...". Sous Vide ("under vacuum") circulating water baths are usually between 131ºF and 185ºF and therefore well under boiling temperatures.
Answer: The product description includes the phrase "can be boiled in water for thawing" so I would say these would be safe for sous vide cooking.
Q:
Where's the country of origin of the bags ? made in USA?
Answer: The company is based in Ohio. You'll have to ask them where they get their bags made.
Answer: I'm sorry but I haven't been able to find where these bags are manufactured.
Answer: Weston Proucts LLC is headquartered in Ohio, but the box says it's "made in China".
Answer: Made in China
Answer: Made in China
Q:
Did anyone use these for sous vide, without a vacuum sealer? Some cooking article online sent me here claiming they work like that
Answer: I have used these with a Sous Vide, but you need a sealer. These are not like a ziplock bag
Q:
Are these bags blank? Without words of any kind??
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: These bags do not have any writing on them. I have had no problems with these bags. Good quality!
Answer: Yes they are I love using these bags I do a lot of freezing as we have a big garden just as good as ziplock
Answer: Yes they are blank.
Answer: Blank. Very good quality.
Answer: Yes, blank
Answer: Yes I use them all the time
Answer: YES
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will these work in a Seal a meal sealer VS 108-P that takes up to 11" bags?-- in other words is it the 8" side that is open?
Answer: Yes, the 8" side is open. I do not see why they would not work. I have owned two different brands of sealers and they have worked in both.
Answer: The 8 inch side is the open side that you seal. I use these in my foodsaver with no problems.
Q:
I tried using these with the FoodSaver gamesaver model and they won't finish vaccumming. They'll start a little but not finish. Any trick to using it?
Answer: For meats and game, I freeze on a tray lined with wax paper first, then when the meat is frozen I remove from the wax paper and seal the in the bag (I use Foodsaver). No leaking juices and no sealing problems. No notable differences between the bag-then-freeze and the freeze-then-bag meats.
Answer: The only time I have had issue is if it gets wet from too much juice or if I have let the meats hit the edge going in the bag. I wipe it off with a paper towel and don't have issue...I do like the suggestion the lady has about using a zip lock first for things like chicken...I will have to try that!
Answer: are you using the foodsaver brand bags? the Weston bags I have a problem with it holding its seal, but the foodsaver brand I've never had an issue with. do you have "quick" seal selected or "normal"? that may make a difference as well. if you are sealing meats, I've sometimes had an issue if liquid from the meat seeps up into the seal area, solved it by putting in a ziplock first, then the Foodsaver bag, then sealing as normal. hope this helps somewhat!
Answer: found a trick that works for ne. I cut a piece of cardboard the size of the vacuum nozzle, fill the bag, seal the bag except where the nozzle goes, remove the cardboard then vacuum the bag and reseal it. either that or thro them away
Answer: I found they seal best if the textured side is up while vacuum sealing also I found that if I put a narrow strip of paper towel above the edge of any meat I'm sealing it acts to "catch" fluid since juisce or fluids will break the seal.
Answer: If the item you are trying to seal is wet, that moisture will not allow a good seal. Try making sure it is dry. Maybe that helps.
Q:
Does this bag work on a Seal a Meal brand of sealer
Answer: Yes, this works with ALL brands of non-chamber (bag outside sealer) sealers.
Q:
Does these bags work to seal corn tortillas of 8 inches?
Answer: No...the bag itself is 8" with a 1/2" sealed seam on either side. The inside capacity isn't but 7".
Answer: Tank you!!
Answer: Yes
Q:
Do these work with Foodsaver 2200?
Answer: I have a food saver 2200 and have had no problems with these bags. I will buy these bags again!
Answer: I use them on a food saver v3435 and they work well
Answer: I've used them with three different Foodsaver models and have never had a problem with these bags.
Answer: The first order several months ago did but the last order I got would not vacuum.
Q:
In the past i bought these and it came in a box clearly marked and branded by weston. the most recent shipment i ordered was not in a box. fake?
Answer: Good afternoon and great question. I cannot speak for other re-sellers, but Weston currently makes the bags without the box as well as with the box. Please rest assure that if sold by FoodVacBags these are the same quality bags as we buy directly from Weston only. Please let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you.
Q:
Do these work with the Rival FSFGSL0150-015?
Answer: I have the Rival FSFGSL0100-015 and have no problems.
Answer: I have a rival from like 1970 and it works fine for sealing. I'm not sure what model you have but they are really nice bags. I also have a vacuum sealer that I use and that works just as well
Answer: I'm not familiar with the Rival unit.....if it is a quality piece of equipment, I'm sure it will work. The material is of a heavier mil than some of the cheaper units.
Answer: I am not sure about that one.. but I think they are universal. If you know the size of the ones for your system and they match then you will be fine.
Q:
can these bags be used with the waring pro pistol vac?
Answer: No. They are only for tabletop vacuum sealers.
Answer: No. they are made for use with sealers like Foodsaver or Daisy Seal a Meal.
Q:
what is the model # on these bags
Answer: The Weston SKU # on the 6x10 Vacuum Bags 100 count product is 30-0106-K. I hope that helps. Jo
Answer: There is no particular. Model number for these bags. I think the size of the bag represents the model number, for example Weston 8 x 12' in freezer bags. Or whatever size you needed.
Answer: On the package there is a number #x000GHARRP9. I use these 8"x12" bags in the 2300 pro Weston vacuum packer, they work very well.
Q:
I plan to do some sous vide recipes at around 200 degrees. Can these withstand those temps?
Answer: These bags will work at 200f, just don’t boil them
Answer: The short answer is yes, I do it all the time. They are prrfect
Q:
Are these bags compatible with the VacMaster Chamber sealers?
Answer: It one of the better bags for vacuum sealing... a little over kill for chamber sealers. I'm not familiar with the VacMaster sealers; but, I believe it one of the higher end chamber sealers.
Answer: Sorry I don’t know, I use them my food saver.
Answer: Don't think so
Q:
Are they already sealed on one end
Answer: Yes, these bags are sealed on one end.
Answer: Yes, the sides and one end are sealed.
Answer: Yes they are I love them, have not lost a seal on one yet.
Answer: Yes, they are just like the expensive ones you buy only cheaper and in bulk.
Answer: Yes. The bags work great!!
Q:
Are these bags easy to clean like the Foodsaver bags. Any problems reusing them time and again?
Answer: U can clean and reuse. I find them a better quality and price than foodsaver. Wesson makes them. Perfect for leftovers, lunches...i just ordered 300 more...i even freeze water and seal...for coolers. I also snip the end before microwaving food in them...i dont reuse if microwaved, but do when opened and emptied. The bag gets smaller with each reuse. Hope this helps.
Answer: I only use the bags once for prepared foods that are vac. Sealed and then frozen...once opened they are then disregarded... maybe if contents were something of a dried substance like flour etc but mot moist ...but that's just me...hope this helps.
Q:
There are 2 product listings for both the 11 x 16 and 8 x 12 bags. One has a description and one does not. What are the differences?
Answer: the 8 X 12 would be comparable to a quart size bag and an 11 X 16 comparable to a gallon size
Answer: The only difference is the size of the bags. I have purchased both sizes and they are identical otherwise.
Answer: I don't know. Sorry I am no help
Q:
Is one whole side mesh, or just a strip down the middle (with an air gap behind)? i've had some "strip bags" but food gets caught in between mesh.
Answer: No mesh strip. I had them but didn't care for them. These are good bags. Reusable
Answer: These are fully embossed on one side, smooth on the other. There is no mesh strip. Those are called VacStrip and the manufacturer, Vacmaster, has discontinued them.
Answer: There is no mesh here at all. One side is embossed with a cross hatch pattern and the other side is smooth. I have dozens of these in my freezer and I like them because they don't slip around as much as the non embossed bags do.. The embossing is only on the out side of one side of the bags.
Answer: One whole side is smooth, the other is rough. I don't think I would call it "mesh" though as that would, in my opinion, imply that it has holes. These are awesome bags for the price and I would definitely purchase them again.
Answer: One whole side is mesh
Answer: The ones that I have are mesh on one side. I have had the ones with the mesh and never had a problem with them
Answer: One side is totally coarse and the other is smooth. I have had no problem and will buy again.
Q:
Is it true that these bags are no longer good? A lot of 1-star reviews in 2014.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I have not had a problem with them and I received my initial order a couple of months ago. One bag did break, but it was due to my own stupidity and I piled a bunch of heavy stuff on top of a sealed bag stuffed full of coleslaw (overstuffed). I would purchase again.
Answer: I've already posted comments, just a month ago, that these bags are just fine. Don't know where the single stars are coming from...bogus or people trying to push another vendors product(s) (hello FoodSaver!).
Answer: Are you asking if the bags can be reused ?
Answer: I've bought them many times. They are great.
Answer: I have had zero problems with the ones I have purchased.
Answer: The ones that I received seem to be fine; I've used several and they all have sealed.
Q:
Are these bags already sealed at one end?
Answer: Yes. They are three sided sealed bags with one open side pre-cut at 8" wide x 12" long.
Answer: Yes. They are sealed on three sides. The opening is on an 8" end. We have more sizes available in our FoodVacBags Amazon store. Just search FoodVacBags above.
Answer: Yes. Both sides and the bottom are sealed. Just put in your food (I always freeze it first, works better for me) and seal the top.
Answer: Yes they are great
Q:
Will these work with the ivation vacuum sealer vsp180?
Answer: I've not used that machine, but after looking at it on Amazon, it seems to be a normal vacuum sealer. These bags should work just fine with it.
Q:
is the item dueable
Q:
Can I use these bags to wet aged meat
Answer: Yest
Q:
do these bags work with rival seal a meal?
Answer: I would think they should... I use them in my "off" brand vacuum sealer and they are great.. Best buy anywhere for 20 cents a bag.. I'll buy AGAIN.. I only use the quart size bags.. I vacuum seal 3 or 4 pork chops in a quart size bag (flat) and then put 2 or 3 of the vacuum bags in a reusable zip lock gallon size freezer bag.. We have never had a problem or freezer burn.. Also, that way we can take out what we need for 2 - 6 people. We do 2 rib-eyes to a quart bag and do the same. That way we always have the numbers of steaks needed.. Works well with any kind of meat or cut... Dinner sausage too..
Answer: Pretty sure they work with every food sealer. one side is smooth, the other variegated.
Answer: I would think they will be just fine.
Q:
will these work in chamber vac machines?
Answer: No the chamber vacuum uses a different type of bag
Q:
Are these bags BPA free?
Answer: Yes
Answer: Hello - I received the following email from a company representative...hope this helps!
Answer: Yes the bags are BPA FREE
Answer: Yes the bags are BPA FREE
Answer: Nylon and Polyethylene generally never (that I have yet seen) contain BPA. BPA is used in certain types of plastics like polycarbonates and PVC as an additive where it does things like make the material softer. So, as a rule of thumb, not just these, but most food saver type bags will be BPA free because the types of materials that heat seal (Nylon, polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET)) don't use BPA. Hope that makes your future decisions easier. Happy sealing.
Answer: Dont know. They are made in China.
Q:
Do these bags work with Vac 1075?
Answer: not sure ,only one bags I got didn't work with food saver ,and it was my faul they clearly stated does not work with food saver style vac.I'm not sure if it was Weston ,but every bag I got besides this one worked even better than food saver brand bags.Sorry I don't know more..Jim
Answer: They work great with my foodsaver gamesaver/DeluxePlus.
Answer: Hi Magdalena, yes they should work very well. I've had several FoodSaver vacuum devices over the pass several years and the Weston bags have always worked for me, in fact I think that they are just as good (or even seal better and are less expensive) than the FS bags. They may feel a little thinner than the FS bags but they seal just as well. FYI: Be sure to have the textured side UP when sealing for the best full-vacuum seal.
Answer: I don't have that model but I think they all operate the same.
Q:
Are these bags recyclible?
Answer: Yes, the bags are recyclable under the "Other" category. You will need follow the recycling guidelines and requirements of your local area.
Answer: They could be if you were careful opening them. They are tough bags, much better than other name brands but we usually just use new ones after months in the freezer.
Answer: The label indicates that they are BPA free and has the recycle triangle of three arrows. There is no number inside the triangle like I see on other products. I don't know what the missing number means.
Answer: It would depend on where you live. They aren't where I live.
Q:
Is this a genuine weston product? what i received has neither the weston part number nor the asin listed below. have sent message to vendor.
Answer: Weston have two part numbers for the same bags; 30-0106-W and 30-0106-K. One comes in a retail box and the other a clear bag. The clear bag does not say Weston on it but does have small sticker with the Weston part # and bar code. If the bags you got do not have a part # on it then they are not Weston bags. It could be another vendor selling a knock off or their brand of bags under the wrong Amazon ASIN listing.
Answer: I ended up returning our order. Was surprised to receive a repackaged product with no "official" branding of any kind and very disappointed that a number of the bags failed to pull the vacuum before sealing. We use Cabela's brand bags for a similar price and consistent success.
Q:
BPS free?
Answer: Good morning, If you are asking whether these are BPA free, yes they are. If you have any other questions or need assistance please let us know. Thank you, Jennie-FoodVacBags
Answer: Yes the box says they are BPA free.
Answer: Yes
Q:
are these actual weston bags? do they come in a weston box? are they embossed rectangles or diamonds on the bags? weston only has rectangles
Answer:
Answer: Can't get too close or it gets really blurry. But the rough side has little rectangles. I have ordered these many times and the rolls as well. I believe they are genuine Weston and they work perfectly in our Weston machine. Rough side must be on the bottom.
Q:
Are these bages BPA free?
Answer: Great question! Yes, they are BPA free. Here is some general information about the bags.
Answer: Yes, our box is marked BPA free.
Answer: Weston says their bags are BPA free.
Answer: Yes, Greg, they are BPA free. I love using them.
Answer: Yes, according to the box they arr
Q:
Can I use these bags with a Deni Champion vacuum sealer?
Answer: I don't know, I have only used them with my Food Saver, if a Food Saver bag works for your Deni Champion I would guess this would work as well. Hope that helps.
Answer: I don't know. I have a Food Saver vacuum packer and they work well with it.
Answer: same as the rest, I have Food Saver...if a Deni 'clamps' down and heat seals, I'm thinking yes....
Answer: I don't know - I have only used them with my FoodSaver.
Q:
Are these bags BPA free?
Answer: Yes

Q:
Will these bags work on a cabela's commercial-grade 12" vacuum sealer also are they sealed on all 3 sides with just needing to seal the top of the bag
Answer: I don't know if they will work on a Cabela's vacuum sealer, but I think they might. You should buy a smaller amount to test it out. I think they are sealed on 3 sides and just need to seal the top since the picture shows 42 bags. There are others that show 50' rolls and those need to be sealed on top and bottom. We bought 100 bags and only messed up one trying to get the vacuum to work. We were very satisfied with the Weston vacuum sealer.
Answer: Yes to the sealing, IDK about your type of sealer...I have a GE and they work great
Q:
Will these bags work with the Ziploc V151 Vacuum Sealer System?
Answer: I really do not know, but they have worked on the Food Saver vacuum sealer and there is another sealer my neighbor has. If yours seals by sucking the air out and sealing, they should. They are excellent bags and I buy no other for the quality and quantity.
Answer: not familiar with that model, but if it uses vacuum bags that are textured on one side ,they will work
Answer: Yes. They should work perfectly with that model. See more sizes in our Amazon store at FoodVacBags.
Answer: I don't really know. I have a Foodsaver and these bags work great. If yours is like a Foodsaver, it should work. Sorry I'm not more help.
Answer: not sure I use them on my v3840 sealer
Q:
Are these particular bags very transparent...easy to see through? Thank you!
Answer: Yes they are very similar to the brand name bags as far as transparency.
Answer: One side is transparent. The other side is textured so you cannot see thru it as well.
Answer: One side is very clear the other conveys fluid. Tough bags, the only ones I have found that stay sealed.
Answer: yes
Q:
It says 100 bags..."box of 10"...so are there 10 boxes of 10 bags or are there 10 boxes of 100 bags for nearly 24?
Answer: "Box of 10" must be a typo. You get one box containing 100 bags.
Answer: I looked to see what you were talking about. There are two buttons for 8x12 bags. I used the one that said 8 by-12-inch not the 8x12. The product description was better. It sent me a bag of 100 bags. The bags are great but they did not come in a box like the smaller bags.
Answer: 100 bags in a plastic bag, no boxes. Good catch, they should fix that.
Answer: 100 bags total all on one pack.
Q:
can i cook in them
Q:
What are the bags made of?
Answer: These Weston bags are made of 2-ply, 3-mil nylon with a layer of polyethylene mesh.
Answer: They are made of BPA free plastic, and are very good quality, I use them all the time for freezing meats and chicken.
Q:
Would these bags work with a Cuisinart vacuum sealer?
Answer: Good morning! These are great bags and as long as your Cuisinart vacuum sealer is an external heat sealer and does not require a special suction valve (much like the Ziploc bags that remove air with a vacuum only) then these bags will work well with your machine. You might also want to look at FoodVacBags products as they are 4mil and also provide a great quality at a lower price. Thanks, Jo
Answer: It should work with any vacum sealer that heat seals the bag.
Q:
Work in Foodsavers?
Answer: This last order of these bags did NOT work in my Foodsaver. The description says there is a layer of mesh. The bags I received in this order did not have mesh, were thin and smooth like the photo. I found the correct ones on a different site, same price and free shipping.
Answer: Yes, I use them with my Foodsaver and they work great. I love the size because I can cut them down for individual pieces of meat of fill them up with more. I'll buy them again because they work great and are cheaper and easier than the rolls!
Answer: Yes, they work OK in Foodsavers, I have one at home that I tested one of these bags... These bags have the required "dimply side" required for external bags
Answer: Yes they work well in the foodsaver...
Answer: yes! that is what I am using with my food saver sealer...less expensive than food saver bags...
Answer: Yes.
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Do these work good with a Sinbo machine?
Answer: Good morning. While I am not as familiar with the brand Sinbo, I did review their sealing machines and they appear to be very nice sealers! Our bags are are made to work with virtually all vacuum seal machines. Our bags are 4mil vs the average 3mil by other brands, so depending on the strength/heat of your sealing bar, you may want to hold the seal button down for a few seconds longer to be sure it seals. You may not need to as it appears to be a very well made machine but I usually tell customers that if they are using our bags for the first time. Enjoy!
Answer: They are vacuum seal bags. They should work with any machine that vaccumes and seals
Answer: They are made to work with any machine, I am very pleased with them and they are BPA free.
Q:
Are these suitable for cooking sous vide? Has anyone tried with these?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Depends on what you're partially cooking. I have put things away in raw for and cooked form. The bags can be taken from the freezer and boiled for how every long it takes to accomplish your intended goal but cannot be placed in a conventional or convection oven. Hope this helps
Q:
Why won't these bags ship to Americans who live in Alaska?
Q:
Do these bags work with the Ziplock vacuum sealers (counter top type)? I see reviews for Foodsaver and Wesson, but not Ziplock. Thank you.
Answer: Yes. They will work with any tabletop sealer. They do not have a hole for the handheld ziploc device, but any regular sealer will take these bags easily. We have many other sizes in our Amazon store and our FoodVacBags work just as well for even less!
Answer: I am unfamiliar with the Ziplock Sealer so can't speak to that. It works with my very old Dazey non-vacuum sealer.
Q:
People say one side is textured, but mine feel smooth on both sides, and I can't get them to vacuum with my Foodsaver, am I doing something wrong?
Answer: Mine are textured on one side and smooth on the other. Mine work really well. Maybe you got a bad batch. In would call the company.
Answer: I have ordered twice and both times mine were slightly textured on one side. I use a food saver and though it works on both "sides" it seems to do a bit better when I use textured side down.
Answer: The bags from my recent order are textured on one side and work very well with my Foodsaver. I have no idea why yours appears to be smooth on both sides.
Answer: One side is textured on all of the ones I have ordered. Good luck
Product reviews of Weston Vacuum Sealer Food Bags, 8" x 12", Quart Size, 100 Count, Transparent
Warren516 : Bags are smooth on both sides - won't vacuum
I have a Foodsaver machine and the bags will not work in the machine. They do seal nicely but no air is sucked out. I think it is because they are to thin, From other reviews and questions/answers, I was led to believe these would work.
Under the "Customer questions & answer" section, it was asked if these bags are embossed on one side and the answer give was yes. This is incorrect, the batch that I received are smooth on both sides.
Carole Wooten : Better than Food Saver brand bags!
I love using these bags! I like to buy meat in bulk and freeze it in portions. I found that the Food Saver brand bags were very expensive and often difficult to seal. I tried the ziploc brand that I found at my local store and was disappointed in those bags as well. I thought it was worth the risk to try these bags.
It turns out these bags are so much better than the Food Saver bags. I have never had a problem getting good seal with these bags. My food is protected while in the freezer. The price is so much better than the Food Saver bags. I am so glad that I found these bags. I would highly recommend these to anyone who uses a Food Saver!
AZ microbiologist : worked just fine
I've been using FoodSaver bags for years but bought these due to the excellent price. I recommend buying the 8X12 and not anything smaller because the 8X12 is just barely big enough for a steak. I'm glad I didn't get the smaller bags, I would have been disappointed. Anyway, you can always make smaller bags if you need to from an 8X12. For example, this morning I cut a bag in half. That gave me one perfect small bag and one bag with 2 open ends so I just heat-sealed one end. VOILA, two small perfect bags. I used them to put a small portion of organic herbs (see photos). The photo is of a few of the 8X12 bags cut in half. I used a Sharpie marker to write on the bag and it was perfect.
Amazon Customer : Excellent
Perfect size to freeze portions, sturdy bags and love the zip open tab for easy opening, no searching for scissors to get the contents out when needed!! Lays flat and freezes quick, thaws quickly as well.. would purchase from this company again
RUGER : GREAT PRODUCT!!!
Menards quit selling Universal Brand bags and went to Ziploc which is over priced and over rated. I walked out like I normally do everywhere not and looked on Amazon and found these. Universal's qt. bags were about .50 cents per bag. These are .22 cents per bag. What a relief!!!!! These bags are just as good as any other bag I used and .30 cheaper! I will forever buy these bags!
raherringshaw : Same quality as Food Saver, just no white label area
These are a great buy at an affordable price. I use these in my Food Saver without issue. I've noticed no difference in bag construction quality. My only gripes - and reason for 4 stars not 5 - are 1) there is no white printed area to clearly label things, and 2) the plastic wrapping these come in is cheap and falls apart, it would be great if it was heavier plastic or cardboard to make storing them easy.
C. Elizabeth Nelson : Great Quality
Always great bags and even better price.
Mary : Sturdy
We have a Weston Food Saver and love the products. The bags are easy to use and are very sturdy. We buy bulk meat from a local Meat Market and know that our meat will be just as fresh as when we put it in these bags. We also use them to store sunflower seeds so that they stay fresh. I would definitely recommend this products.
Pat : Weston 6 x 10 Vacuum Sealer Food Bags
100% perfect! I've ordered these two more times... Can't say enough about them. Half the price of Foodsaver. Perfect bag every time... Never had a bad bag. Perfect for leftovers for lunch the next day. I put enough in for lunch and freeze for a light dinner or lunch. Works great on my Foodsaver.
velocityg4 : Better than original
I was dubious about buying off brand bags for my Foodsaver. Boy was I wrong. These bags greatly outperform my Foodsaver bags.
- They are easier to get in the vacuum chamber. They don't hang up nearly as much as the FS bags. Which also leads to fewer false runs when you finally trigger the pump. By false runs I mean wrinkles that lead to endless pumping and a useless crimped seal.
- The air channels are more effective. The bag just molds itself better. Leaving fewer air pockets. Frankly I can't even recall the last time I have seen an air pocket using these bags.
- The fatal flaw in these bags is that they are either too thick or the air channels are too good for the heat sealer of my Foodsaver. So be sure to check the seam for an incomplete seal as there may be a few spots you can still see the riffles. I just run a second sealing pass to finish the seal. This happens with my FS bags occasionally so I am use to it, it's just a more frequent occurrence with these. Just beware or you could find air in your bag later on.
Overall I'd take these over the Foodsaver brand bags. They are cheaper and perform better. When I finally need some gallon bags I will look for Weston.
Sydney Tennant : Nice bags
Not much to say about these other than I like them better than the name brand bags. I find that they seal is more reliable - with the name brand bags, I often have to do a double seal, and I don't need to do that with these. The price is right also, so it is a win-win!
savagemann : Fragile and thin. Not recommended
These bags are extremely thin and fragile.
Have had several of them fail.
zonlyone : You'll like em
I really like these bags. I've used a few different kinds for my vacuum sealer, and these are one of the best quality. I didn't think they looked that different from VacMaster bags, which I also really like.
My experience is I sealed some dried potatoes, which have those sharp edges, and it pierced the Weston bag. The VacMaster bags that had the same potatoes didn't lose the seal until the next day. In all fairness though, these potatoes had very sharp edges, and there's not really any bags that you can use that wouldn't need to be doubly packed. I gave it 4 stars because it didn't hold the seal as long as the VacMaster ones. And, I don't like that you can get a variety pack of the Weston bags without spending a lot of money. However, you get a bunch of this size for a cheap price.
So, over all, they are great bags and I seem to prefer them over any of the other brands I have. Simply because they cost less and are good quality. You'll be happy with these. And I definitely recommend them.
Laura : Just fine wish they had a place to write on.
Purchased these for size and cost reasons. Only thing I would change about them is to have a smooth place to write on. No big thing just a bit easier than writing on the bumpy side. These work perfectly with my FoodSaver Sealer appliance.
D. Wnukowski : Love these bags
I love these bags. We make over 120 pounds of homemade sausage every year and the other bags were getting too expensive once I read several other reviews I decide to take the leap of faith and I was extremely happy with the bags. They sealed very well and cost half of the other brand.
Amazon Customer : Had some loose seals and one popped bottom
I have a foodsaver I love to use for all my leftovers. These bags are a great size to put single servings in. My most frequent use is homemade soups. I make a different soup at least 2x a month. Fill the bag, seal then freeze flat as it makes for easy reheating right in the bag, just microwave flipping the bag over every 30-45 seconds until hot. That is how I have always (2 year's of foodsaver) used this size bag...however with this brand's bags I've had some issues. They seem to seal and I haven't had leaks in the freezer, but when it goes to reheating in the bag, the bag expands and I've had half or more of the seals fail, never had that happen with other either bag rolls or foodsaver brand pint bags. I've even had the bottom (factory) seal fail once. This was a pack of 100 bags. I've used about 20 to the freezer, 15 reheated food and a few for other reasons. I will use the up as they are not failing in the freezer, but won't be buying again.
Elenor : Not quite as high quality as I'd hoped.
Last set I got were great. This set I've had several where the vacuum sealer just keeps sucking air, because some OTHER seam than the open one isn't sealed. One or two -- no problem; but this is 4-5 already, and I'm not halfway through the pack. Still WAY WAY cheaper than others!
kesner adams : Ok
The bags are not from the same company and at times it doesn’t suction like it should but I don’t know if it’s the bag, machine or item placed inside. When I have a issue I just cut the bag down until it works properly

jbauch357 : very low success rate, basically a waste of money
Stars equate to how many out of 5 bags I can get to vacuum down. I bought two packs of these based on positive reviews (both here and on external forums) but when tried to use them in my vacmaster sealer only about 1 in 5 would actually vacuum down tight with most just starting then stopping and sealing a bunch of air in the bag. I can't bring myself to just toss them out, so likely they'll be brought back out next time I forget to reorder good bags and will just go down another path of frustration.
Randomissus : Great bags!
I purchased these bags for my new 2300 vacuum sealer because I needed them right away. The two day shipping with Amazon Prime is unbeatable...the price on the bags however, is not. I have found these much cheaper locally and will buy these locally from now on.
That said, the bags are wonderful. They outperformed other brand vacuum bags by far, as we had to go back and reseal several foodsaver brand bags because of leakage and not sealing properly.
The 6x10 bags easily fit 2 lbs of ground elk meat. You could also probably do some dollar steaks in these smaller bags. We sealed around 400 lbs of elk meat over the weekend and I am so impressed by these bags, I do not think I will even try another brand. They're thick and durable. The only downside is that there isn't a place to label on them, but that is not a dealbreaker! You could probably write anywhere on the bags or get some freezer tape and use that as a stick-on label. The only reason I rated 4 stars was because of the price. It's probably very comparable for other bags and when considering the quality, is worth the extra price. But, you might shop around as far as price.
Overall, I highly recommend these bags.
Nancy R. Fielding : Value for the money

Two Fifty : Great
I use these all the time they are better that Foodsaver brand and I love them.

eric r : Worst out of 3 i tried...air pockets consistently left inside...
I bought this, foodsaver, and vacfresh brands to try on my foodsaver gamesaver deluxe sealer. I used them on semi frozen durian. Each had atleast 5 tries. This one performed the worst. It consistently left air pockets inside whereas the other two brands got most of it all out. Thicknesswise (based on how it feels as i dont have an instrument to make an actual measurement), theyre in this order from thickest to thinnest: foodsaver, weston, vacfresh. Take note those are relative "thicknesses" so vacfresh is thinnest but is actually thicker than most if not all zip loc bags ive used. I would not buy this weston brand again.
Daniel : Not 100% reliable
I used these bags to seal 60 lbs of green coffee beans into 1 lb containers. Out of the 60, I had 3 bags loose their vacuum even though I double sealed the opening. One of those bags I cut off the sealed portion and resealed the bag. After a little while the bag had gone limp again so I knew the bag had the tiniest hole in it. Based on my experience that's a 5% failure rate, which isn't all that reliable. If it had been sealing something other than green coffee beans I would have thrown the malfunctioning bags away.
msjazzbo : Addicted to vacuum sealing
I have become addicted vacuum sealing food for my freezer. I had purchased a small hand held sealer with bags. Unfortunately the sealer and the bags have been discontinued. Believe me I look all over to find more. I had to go back to using my larger Food Saver vacuum sealer. These bags just fit the bill. I never liked using the rolls because I thought there was too much waste. I bought these Weston bags in two sizes. Price was good, delivery fast - I am happy!!
Bone Dry Music : Not Weston Bags
These are not Weston bags. The pattern on Weston bags are little rectangles. These bags are little diamonds. Weston tells me the pattern on their bags is rectangles only, no exceptions.
Snafooo : I usually get my vacuum bags ....
online at Food Saver's website when they're on sale for buy one get one free. BUT... These are WAY cheaper!!! (Ok, ok, so these were on sale) And they work just as well. I'll be getting these from now on.. if the price is right!
Mary : Sturdy

Christina A. Paschall : These are wonderful, They are strong and I have rarely found ...
These are wonderful, They are strong and I have rarely found one that leaks. I have purchased the brand name and the quality is just not there anymore. These are half the price and double the quality, you can't beat that.
Center4Ants : Perfectly Functional Vacuum Sealer Bags
I love my FoodSaver 5800 but I do not enjoy paying $500 for their brand of vacuum sealer bags (hyperbole completely justified because, while not hundreds of $$$, they're still way more expensive than Weston...exception: when Costco has the awesome combo pack of bags + rolls on sale for less than $30). As someone that goes through insane amounts of bags on a daily basis (due to frequent sous vide cooking + buying food in bulk and storing in a separate freezer) - I wanted an affordable yet quality substitute and went for these Weston bags as recommended by ChefSteps. While not on the same level of quality as the FoodSaver bags - these definitely get the job done. On the positive side: I've had 0 issues with getting the FoodSaver to recognize the Weston bags, no issues so far with the sealing, and no instances of accidental leaks during sous vide cooking. On the downside, there are 2 reasons I can't give these 5 stars, granted they're relatively minor: 1) No dedicated portion on the bag for labelling (and anyone that uses vacuum sealer bags for freezing/storage will know just how important this is), 2) Doing a side-by-side comparison between Weston and FoodSaver bags, I notice that the Westons feel a tad bit thinner and just a slight lower quality of material - for most cooking applications this is no cause of concern but for heavy bone-in meats or foods going through days long cooking times, it may require double-bagging just to be on the safe side. All in all, these are a great value and I will definitely purchase more in the near future.
E. Small : Problems when used with Foodsaver
I have purchased several brands of vacuum bags to use with my foodsaver with great success. These bags just are not up to par. Today, I was attempting to freeze some leftover ham using these Weston bags. Of the 8 packages I had, only one sealed right the first time.
I got out some bags of a different brand, no problems. Not sure what I will do with the rest of these bags, but after today I will not be buying again.
Johnny : Reachin’ toward Weston these days: Plus a hint
We do own an excellent Weston meat slicer yet have been using VacMaster bags for years, always preferring the mesh style that leaves juices behind and not as often sucked into the sealer drip tray. VacMaster bags are getting harder to get and no longer a good buy. This is now the fourth box of Weston’s I’ve bought—covering each size: gallon, quart and now pint. The box is excellent and easy to pull a bag from. Most important, the bags are thick and haven’t failed me yet.
Hint: you’ll find bulk Weston bags available, too. Same bags. So, I keep my box and then compare prices. Sometimes the bulk bags are cheaper, but not always.
Ken M : Work Good with my Foodsaver V3425 Weston 6x10 bags
With my food saver V3425, these work perfect. I have the 6x10 bags and I plan to order more.
1) I like to seal fresh ground (whole bean) coffee, these work great for that.
2) The vacuum and seal is very good. What else can I say?
3) These are not as thick as the original seal-a-meal or food-saver type roll bags.
I have put some sealed meat in the freezer, time will tell on that.
I may add more later, but, price price per bag makes this a good buy :).

Rational : Bags are good but packaging poor
The bags arrived and by the looks will work as well as the last batch, which is pretty well. However, I knock off a star because they no longer come in a nice box. They now come in a cheesy plastic wrapper that was already partly torn open. CHEAP!
myrazydzik : These bags are great!
I BOUGHT THESE BAGS BECAUSE OF THE PRICE THE FOOD SAVER SEALER I HAVE THE BAGS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. I FOUND THESE .THE FIRST ONE DID NOT SEAL! THEN I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN THE SIDES ONE WAS SMOOTH AND ONE WAS NOT SO I TURNED THE BAG OVER AND IT SEALED LIKE A CHAMP.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR......SAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND BUY THESE BAGS INSTEAD OF THE FOOD SAVER BRAND!!!!!

Melanie Russell : Perfect size
I live alone, so to save money I buy meat in 'Family Packs', portion them out, then vacuum seal them.
They work great in my FoodSaver machine. I DID notice, however that they were 'shrink wrapped' a tad too tight, and it made the bags curl up a tiny bit on the open end. I have the type of machine that I just push the bag in, and it starts to vacuum, so it hasn't been a problem.

These are by far the lowest priced bags I have found-AND they are actually sturdier than several brands I've used. I recommend them highly.

Morgan Owens : Thick and Convenient!
My husband and I will DEFINITELY purchase again. These are larger then we both thought they would be and they are durable! I have a Foodsaver V3485 (model) and they work with my machine!
luvs2read : Great Product!
These bags were commercial quality and every one I have used so far has sealed perfectly! Much better than the Food Saver brand bags. I will be buying a lot more of these in all the sizes. Some have commented that they don't have a label area to write on. I have just used a Sharpie marker and it has worked fine. Love these!
Michael A : Our go to bags
We contanstaly buy these. They are the perfect portion size. Never had any issues using them with our FoodSaver Vacuum. Never had any defective bags either.
