Answer: With what comes with this machine, no, you can't dehydrate eggs. You need a solid sheet insert, like what us used to make fruit rolls ups. Dehydrating eggs means you scramble them, dehydrate them, break up clumps, and dehydrate again. Unless you can find a solid sheet insert for this machine, you can't do eggs. But, I've seen several listed after this one that comes with a solid sheet and or a fine mesh screen. And no, a fine mesh screen won't work either, you'll still dump a lot of egg powder; you need the solid sheet insert.

Answer: I have just taken a damp cloth and wiped it off and then a dry towel and dried it. It stays pretty clean actually. At least we haven't had that much to clean up off the base. We have dried tomatoes, bananas, apples, pears and grapes so far and haven't had any problems.
Answer: I clean mine with a wet cloth. It doesn’t get very dirty. If you are dehydrating meat for jerky, you will want to use paper towels to pat the meat dry before placing it on the dehydrator so it doesn’t drip. Fruits do not drip. I put sesame seeds and red pepper flakes on some beef....and some of those came off and ended up on the base when I placed the meat on the tray. Otherwise it stays pretty clean. Hope this helps!!
Answer: Since the actual heating source is built in to the base as well as the electrical cord, it can't be submerged in water, so all you can do is wipe it clean.All the plastic trays lift off.

This dehydrator is beautiful. Very stylish with a modern look. Comes with five trays and instructions on how to prep you foods for optimal performance. I did bananas and apples on my first run. Kids loved them and healthy for them too. Better than those greasy potato chips!!!!

Spent extra on this for the stainless steel base and initially was kicking myself for not getting the extra 3 trays. The product has solid build quality, stainless steel base, good controls, etc. BUT the trays of fruit I put on the top don't dry at nearly the same rate as the ones on the bottom. I spaced out my apple slices an appropriate amount but after the timer went off the apples on the bottom tray were becoming dry and brittle while the ones on the top, or 5th tray, were still soft and juicy inside. I've dried about 5 batches of fruit and always had the same result. This is not powerful enough for the extra trays. It's not really powerful enough to consistently heat the 5 trays it comes with. I was hoping to make beef jerky with this also but doubt its powerful enough to consistently heat it all. I recommend checking out other dehydrators and making sure they don't suffer the same issue. It's a shame because the build quality and aesthetics are otherwise great.

I might be doing something wrong with this appliance and maybe why I m not impressed with it. I tried dehydrating bananas twice. I followed the directions and had to triple the process time with still unfavorable results. So not sure if the machine doesn’t have enough power or not sure if I m not doing it right. l just know that processing thinly sliced bananas nicely placed apart on a couple trays shouldn’t take 40 hours. Yes that’s right …40 hours and they still were a bit soft

I had been meaning to try out some food dehydrating as I had not used one since almost 20 years ago. My old one was clunky and not the easiest to use or clean. This one is very smart-looking and much easier to use. It seems very solid and seems like it will last. My favorite thing is to dehydrate fruit and veggies for future use. No better "candy" than munching on some dried berries or other fruit. I'm going to try things that are a bit more complicated like fruit "leathers," and feel confident with this dehydrator.

This is so easy to use! I love the compact size since we have a small kitchen. However, it still holds a lot of whatever you are dehydrating. We've only had ours a week but we have already dehydrated apples, bananas, grapes, blueberries and peppers. We plan on using it a lot more as well!! Very happy with our purchase!

After 6 months of moderate use it only blows cold air and dehydrates nothing anymore. No warning, no hints of going out. It just stopped working. I wonder where it was made? I'll have to look that up. Anyway, if you need a dehydrator for long term use, look elsewhere.

I absolutely love this dehydrator. I have only made beef jerky a few times so far, but it works awesome. It’s so easy to clean and store. It’s not too big when all the trays are stacked to collapse.

I love how easy this product is to use. A very light vegetable spray on each tray before placing very thinly sliced chicken breasts or beef slices allows for easy picking up when finished with dehydrating. Also very easy clean up with mild dish soap and warm water. I bought this dehydrator because I have begun making for all of my 4 dogs their meat treats and I also make their homemade dog food with my instant pot.. I now know exactly what is going into their little bodies and with my vet's approval. The chicken jerky is their very favorite and it turns out excellent in this dehydrator. The beef slices I do when I can find beef on sale at the market and I try to limit the amount of extra fat that is on the beef. However this is also an exceptional treat for them. I have also dehydrated fruit slices of many kinds for us. Our favorites are banana chips, apple slices, mango slices and peach slices. I highly recommend this product, and it has worked very well for us. Storage is easy as it slides onto a shelf in a lower cabinet, lightweight too.

First and foremost, I expected good dehydraters to be in the $150-$200 range, so to get such an amazing product at this price already made me happy. Item was purchased for us off our wedding registry. It came faster than expected, so my fiance went to the store at 10:00 pm to get meat for jerkey. I woke up the next morning to an amazing smell throughout our entire downstairs. It cooked perfectly first try. It's large enough for him to make in bulk (he's on a keto diet so jerkey is the best snack), and so freaking easy to clean afterwards. And it's so user friendly, even I can figure it out!!!

Absolutely fantastic dehydrator. I’ve had this thing for four days and I’ve probably gone through four or five batches of dehydrated fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately the instructions that come with it don’t mention this “feature” at all and I’m sure that some people are still trying to figure out why the trays look like they have different spacing between each one. The timing and the temperature are both adjustable and very simple to accomplish. The ability to rearrange the trays occasionally during operation is very straightforward and simple. The timer allows settings from one hour to 24 hours and the temperature ranges from 95° to 158°. This thing does not take up very much room and does an admirable job of dehydrating everything that I put into it so far. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

This dehydrator is beautiful. Very stylish with a modern look. Comes with five trays and instructions on how to prep you foods for optimal performance. I did bananas and apples on my first run. Kids loved them and healthy for them too. Better than those greasy potato chips!!!!

Purchased on 3/24/21. Heating element burned out yesterday, 6/12/21. Melted some of my trays. No longer fits correctly. Paid $70 for this thing and it didnt even last 90 days?? And it got WAY hotter than the 113F setting I had it set to. The pictures show how it got so hot it MELTED the plastic trays. Even if I ran this at the highest temp for 24 hours, it shouldn't MELT THE TRAYS. Would love to get some customer service help here, as I cant seem to figure out how to find someone to speak to. This is just completely unacceptable.

So easy to use! I have made tomato and basil chips, zucchini chips, pumpkin flour, craisins, dehydrated lemon zest, dehydrated orange zest, dehydrated basil, spicy pineapple.....ECT. My favorite thing to dehydrate is dehydrated watermelon, which tastes like Jolly Ranchers candy and dehydrated spicy watermelon. Yummy!:-)

Product came in November 17, have been using it every other day for about 8hrs at 113°F. December 25 the Product no longer heats up; only the fan turns on with no heat.

Vivohome was kind enough to reach out directly to me and send me a new (possibly efurbished). Like the last one I ran it for 4 hrs at 139°, only lasted 7 times before again....no more heat, just the fan turns on. Both last less than a month, I recommend another brand at this point. I appreciate the customer service, but disappointed in the product.

Josh : Great build quality BUT doesn't get warm enough for top trays.
Spent extra on this for the stainless steel base and initially was kicking myself for not getting the extra 3 trays. The product has solid build quality, stainless steel base, good controls, etc. BUT the trays of fruit I put on the top don't dry at nearly the same rate as the ones on the bottom. I spaced out my apple slices an appropriate amount but after the timer went off the apples on the bottom tray were becoming dry and brittle while the ones on the top, or 5th tray, were still soft and juicy inside. I've dried about 5 batches of fruit and always had the same result. This is not powerful enough for the extra trays. It's not really powerful enough to consistently heat the 5 trays it comes with. I was hoping to make beef jerky with this also but doubt its powerful enough to consistently heat it all. I recommend checking out other dehydrators and making sure they don't suffer the same issue. It's a shame because the build quality and aesthetics are otherwise great.

We have been wanting one of these for a while now and it was hard finding one. This VivoHome one fits the bill because it is digital, constructed of Stainless Steel . It is easy to clean and works wonderful. We just started making some Beef Jerky and my hbby wants to use it for fruits. We are excited with this item as we were on the fence on which one to buy. This one is a home run for us due to the construction.
Ray : Top shelves do not warm up like the bottom ones
As mentioned above. If you place bananas to dry the manual states to place them for 12 hours. However, if you use all 8 shelves the bottom ones get done within the 12 hour time frame, but the top ones remain soggy. If you extend the time the top ones become done, but then the bottom chips taste burnt and will now stick to the shelf.

Have used it a few times already and it does a good job at drying the foods. Rotating the trays occasionally during the dehydrating time really helped. The unit doesn't take up a lot of room so it works well in my small kitchen.

Used it only once so far to make chicken jerky for my dogs. Came out perfect. Going to try fruit for my parrot next. Easy to clean up, easy to use. Only recommendation is for the instruction book to include cooking time for meats.

After 3 uses the fan stopped working. Called Amazon Support and was connected to a person to help me immediately. He so helpful and had a new on sent to me ASAP. Appreciated all the excellent service and speedy return. So far everything is good. My husband loves the Vivo Dehydrator and drys so even. Uses mostly for Deer Jerky and wonderful.

Bought this dehydrator just over a month ago. I have run it almost non-stop since that time, and so far, I love it. It works great, instructions are self-explanatory, I feel like they include a decent amount of specific dehydrating instructions for a good variety of products. I had a really old dehydrator that I had lent out, so I decided to buy a new one. My old one was round. I love the square shape as it fits better on the counter and it is relatively quiet. I also like that I may add 3 more trays if I wish.
Amazon Customer : Pretty-But no heat
The first two times it worked fine the third time I have no hot air. Avoid this dehydrator. Unless you want something that looks nice but does not work. Oh and by the way when you contact the seller, they want you to video the heating element not working. I’ve already lost 2 lbs of organic grass fed beef. So it’s truly not worth buying.
