Definitely sturdy... it was delivered 8pm with just a label slapped on the actual box and tossed on my front porch from about 5 feet away... This item is adorable and I loved the colors, but the wings were broken off and I couldn't find any reason for that because the packing is outstanding and should have prevented breakage. The only thing that I think was the reason I got a broken product is poor quality control. I've received breakable items packaged in a very shoddy wrapping and not have them arrive broken. Too bad, because this would be a fantastic accent for casual table settings. The rooster wine bottle holder by the same manufacturer had a toe broken off of it which I didn't notice until after I had set it up with great fan fare on the table of the friends I was giving it to as a housewarming gift. They products are packaged with substantial padding and the shipping box arrived at my home undamaged. The toe that was broken off of the wine bottle holder wasn't even in the box which would indicate that it was packed in its box broken and nobody on the manufacturing end noticed. I would say it was a mistake on someone's part, but having two of these products arrive broken is more than coincidence I think. The colors of these products are beautiful.
