Will this stop the weight retriever from sliding all the way through?Is it thick enough?

Answer: Yes it will. However if your downrigger comes to an abrupt stop, often the line will break. Do not use this as the auto stop on electric auto retrieve downriggers.

My downriggers have steel cable with a swivel snap crimped on. will these bumpers stretch over the snap swivel or will I have to cut the cable?

Answer: Depends on the size of that swivel-snap. It only uses a couple of inches of cable to re-rig that cable end. If you have the spares (crimps, or that fancy Scotty end) then you'll trust the outcome better than relying on last year's cable end.

What is the inner and outer diameter of these? Could they fit over aircraft cable as stops on a home gym?

Answer: no, inner diameter is too small. (ours are used for downriggers) it slides freely over 7 strand stainless steel cable 180lb test cable. about same diameter as 50 lb mono. outer diameter only about 1/2 in. hope that helps

will this fit over 10 gauge ground cable?
