Questions about DKS Smoker Cooker Box for Grill | Turn Any BBQ Grill Into A Smoker | No Propane or Charcoal Needed | Provides All The Heat and Smoke to Cook Any Food (64 cu inches)
Q:
Where is the DKS starter kit you can by?
Answer: I used it once, didn’t like it.
Q:
I have a six burner weber grill. Is that just too large for even the largest model smoker?
Answer: You can use it to pre-smoke your food and then grill as you normally would. However it will not get a 6 burner to the 200-225 degree range unless you used 2 of them. The design was for 4 burner and smaller grills.
Answer: Would not think so. I have a 4 burner grill and I just light one burner and put the smoker box over that burner. Works great.
Answer:
Answer: Not at all. I only purchased the smoke box. I’ve got a custom built double barrel. I seat the box centered for grilling and one one end when smoking. Hope this helps. Load the box with your fave hit of wood. And Walah. Box holds its heat well.
Q:
will one fill of the box last 3 hours?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Are you just using it as a smoker or are you using the heat for cooking I have a pig cooker and it’s propane I’m cooking a hole pig I have got to use gas but I will put my smoker box with charcoal and wood chunks for the first few hours and then I finish with propane
Answer: I used mine for the first time on Labor Day. If you purchased the large box, and you fill it to the recommended level, yes it will last for at least three hours. I added more wood around the three and half hour mark since I needed it to last longer and it worked out just fine. No need to add another FireStarter. Hope this helps.
Answer: It'll be close, maybe 2-3 hours depending on temperature.
Q:
medidas de Diamond
Q:
What size would i need if i have a weber 4 burner propane grill i want to use this on?
Answer: The 6x12; which is the largest size, is the correct box for a 4 burner gas grill.
Answer: Your grill would be large enough to handle either size box. Just depends on how often you want to continue to add wood during the smoking process. The larger box allows you to smoke longer without having to add wood often. Hope this helps.
Answer: website shows the cubic inches each is used for. I bought the small one works great
Answer: rectangle one i found ok
Answer: Large !
Q:
Can I use pellet?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Unfortunately, no. Chunks of wood will smolder after they're lit, which will maintain the ideal temperature. Pellets will burn too quickly.
Q:
Why does the diamond king smoke box cost so much more than other smoke boxes?
Answer: The other smoke boxes are just that; a box that creates a smoldering fowl tasting smoke but only if you soak the chips; which are ground less than 3/4” in size or pellets, in water. DiamondKingSmoker is a SmokerCooker that creates all the Heat and Smoke and uses 2” chunks like a commercial BBQ restaurant. Other smokers create 5-10 degrees heat from smoldering wood that does not have a Good Flavor. We create over 200 degrees heat, is 7 times larger and creates authentic smokehouse flavor. It is like comparing a tricycle to car.
Q:
I own a weber spirit ii e-210, 2 burner gas grill. which size would work best?
Answer: You can use either the 4x4 or 6x6. In general; the 4x4 will keep a 3-4 burner @ 85-105 degrees and a 2 burner at 200-225. You will need to use our 1.5”-2” chunks for that model. The 6x6 is for circular shaped grill or 3 burner grills. It is possible the 6x6 will get the 2 burner as high as 300 degrees. The 6x12 is for 3-4 burner grills. Both the 6x12 and 6x6 you can use our 2-3” chunks. More information is available on the company website; www.DiamondKingSmoker.com
Q:
Can I use this to cold smoke in a closed off grill?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: The small 4x4 is most appropriate for it and it's documentation says its suited for smoking fish and cheeses due to getting to something like 120 degrees
Answer: Yes, I usually seal my grill with foil to minimize the loss of any heat or smoke.
Answer: Yes, works great
Q:
I am tying to smoke beef jerky on a Webber genesis 2 gas grill . What temp will the bbq be ? I need 165 for starting then less after .
Answer: My recommendation is to purchase the 4x4 which is the smallest one. It is design to keep a 4 burner grill 85-105 degrees and will easily reach your 165 initial target on a 2 burner grill. I highly recommend using the DiamondKingSmoker 1.5-2" chunks. They provide more smoke, flavor and the optimal heat. Along with that they are cut to fit the 4x4 SmokerCooker. They are not sold on Amazon but available at DiamondKingSmoker.com and come in 20 different wood species.
Answer: The DKS Smoker box provides all the heat for smoking, approx 200-225 degrees. Probably use less wood than a full box to lower the temperature. However, you would have to keep filling the box more often if you're trying to achieve a lower temperature.
Answer: You'll need to prop the grill cover open a bit to get the temp that low. Do not rely on the grills temperature gauge. Get a good grill temp thermometer to keep track of the actual internal temp. The smoker fully loaded with the grill covered closed and no wind outside will keep the temp between 200 and 220.
Q:
Can this be used on a charcoal grill
Answer: Absolutely. I recommend the 6x6 model as it has diamond openings on 4 sides for even heat distribution in a circular grill.
Answer: Yes! I used this on my Weber charcoal grill to smoke many things. It needs a little "babysitting", but it works!
Q:
I have a 20" Weber kettle grill. How long will this box hold the heat at 225 degrees?
Answer: The 6x12 will hold that temperature for 3+ hours and the 6x6 will hold it for 2+ hours.
Answer: The 6x6 will hold for 2-3 hours and the 6x12 for 3-4 hours. Enjoy!
Q:
How much wood is needed for a 3-4 hour smoke
Answer: 7lbs of smoker wood chunks last for 3 hours of Smoke at 235 degrees.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Full box smokes for about 2 hours...4 hour smoke two boxes.
Answer: If you are cooking with propane and adding smoke for flavor you only need about an hours worth of smoke which is only 5-7 chunks of wood what I like to do is start with some charcoal in my smoker chimney and dump it in the smoker box throw the wood on top place in grill watch the temperature and adjust propane accordingly
Answer: I don't think it 'll last 3-4 hours, probably have to refill it once or twice.
Q:
Medidas del modelo extra large??
Answer: We manufacture 3 different sizes; 12 x 6, 6 x 6, and 4"x4". The differences are wood capacity; how long it will Cook/Smoke for and the Heat. All are made of the same 100% Food Grade Heavy Duty Stainless Steel. Unless abused they will last a lifetime.
Q:
Can you use any other wood or just from the manufacture ?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: you can buy wood at Walmart, Lowe's , or cut it down yourself . It should be very dry, though.
Q:
Has anyone cooked a brisket with this? What were the results?
Answer: I have made a brisket with this several times and the flavor was outstanding. If you have any questions call DiamondKingSmoker customer service line and they will explain in detail; 651-357-6995.
Answer: i have not
Enjoy!
Q:
Can I use something like this to make a brisket or pulled pork?
Answer: Absolutely you can. Depending on the size of your grill if you use the 6x6 or 6x12. The main difference between the 2 is that with the 6x6 add more wood every 30-45 minutes and the 6x12 add more wood every 40-50 minutes. This will create all the heat; 200-225, and the smoke when you use DiamondKingSmoker fire starters and SmokingWood. You will not turn the grill on when using the SmokerCooker. Half way through your total cook time take the cover off the SmokerCooker, wrap the meat in foil, and turn your grill to 225 until you reach your desired doneness. I have done this many and many of times.
Answer: Absolutely! I have done 3 or 4 briskets and a couple pork shoulders. The one thing I had problems with was temperature control. I discovered fill box full at first and when refill is required just add enough chunks to maintain the temp.
Q:
Can this be used in a pellet grill?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I would say YES ! Remember you are not firing up your grill you are only using is as a sealed box . The smoker will generate the heat needed to cook and smoke the food !
Answer: I would assume.

Amazon Customer : O
The box when heated warped all to heck.
Ajanour : So I fixed it!
Nice little device, works as intended, packaged well, delivered timely. Expensive, but the only complaint I had was managing the lid - the slotted back fits in between two ears, and when adding chunks when hot, wants to slam shut again if slightly bumped. So, using tongs, would take clear off and after adding wood, try to thread the slotted back into the ears again, not always the easiest thing to do. Would benefit from a hinge, so I cheerfully voided the warranty, cut off the ears, drilled holes in the base, and bolted a hinge to the base and the lid slot. Now it lifts up, falls back, and covers again easily.
Jsmith : It’s great to add flavor
If you’re looking for this to replace a smoker move on, this is NOT meant to be a smoker but it does a great job of adding smoke flavor to a normal grill, you still have to have a normal fuel source but this little gem will add the smoke flavor perfectly

roy : Where there’s smoke, there is ZERO heat
Purchased the large box to use as a “smoker” according to website turns any grill into a smoker. I have a Napoleon grill, well insulted and well built. Added smoker box to grill in south Florida at 90 degree day. Box produced a large amount of smoke but over an hour into cook, could not raise grill temp to 200 degrees. The box seems to be good for adding a smoke flavor, but a complete fail for being the actual cooking element. Would purchase if I was novice or not into real bbq, as a fan of bbq, this box is a fail.....

Catch : Takes a while to start smoking.
I did not notice any smoke flavor. It's not like a real smoker. I would suggest to get the liquid starter, do not get the oil or grease based starters, they had a terrible smell.

Nicole Mourier : Well-made, large and durable!
This is a well-made, high quality smoker box. It’s hard to find a smoker box this size. You can’t find it in stores, only small standard size boxes. This changes the game! We received this package quickly and it even included wood chip samples to try! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a solid large box for wood chips.
RO460 : Great smoke flavor essential Accessory for any Grill
Easy to set-up, holds a good amount of wood. This is a nice quality heavy duty stainless steel smoker box for any grill. It gets hot enough that you can use it as your heat source or you can assist with low heat if you are using it on a very large grill. I love my Weber Summit Grill but I really missed the great taste of smoked meat. Absolutely love this! Works exactly as advertised and will work on any grill. Want to add smoke to your meats without the hassel and mess this will do it, the Pecan Wood is my favorite! I have tried it on Cornish Hens, Ribs and Chicken. Better than any smoke box I've ever tried. Highly recommend.
