For 50 years the Original Trius Trap has been the trap that others have been judged by. The trap can be adjusted to throw beyond regulation distance. In addition, it throws doubles including piggyback doubles. On the ground or mounted to a tire (bolt furnished), the trap features a High Angle Target Retainer for those challenging high angle targets. Answer: Just received mine and it says right on the box MADE IN CHINA.Very disappointed.

Does this shoot 4.25 inch pigeon

Answer: Yes, that size will be just fine on the Trius.

Can it be used for Mini Clays?

Answer: I have throw a handful of mini clays with it and it worked fine. Like the other responder said you may have to back off the spring some. The few I did they took off at a good clip but definitely a fun shoot. I built a stand out of some 1/2 ply and 2 bys. Very simple and works great. Much better then bending over all day.

What the inner dimensions are of the base (the longer metal piece)? I want to mount it onto a 2" x 2" piece of long steel stock.

Answer: AS to distance it will throw, I have found a different type of clays...they don't have the sides like a little frisbee...instead it's almost like a little clay coaster...pretty much just a 'puck'. Those babies fling much farther....especially since I cranked the spring a bit tighter. And shooting across me instead of straight out makes it more difficult/fun. Don't know the brand/name of these (I found them at the range...somebody was a terrible shooter and just left them...I'm talking like 50 of them unbroken). But when all my clays are gone I'll be looking for these...as they fly much further/faster.

Will it throw 2 at a time?

Answer: It will but you need to tighten the spring up to get them to go off with any speed, and then if you try to fling a single w/out loosening the spring it will likely break it. So if you plan to go back and forth between 1 and 2 this isn't the thrower for you. I typically just fling 1 at a time and I LOVE IT! I've tried 2 a few times but it's not worth the spring adjustments required back and forth (IMO). Hope this helps.

How hard is it to reset ? is the spring tension so tight you get an arm workout resetting it?

Answer: You can adjust the pressure on the spring for distance.

Answer: You can set that spring tension to a lighter pull, but I have never had any problem setting it. I just highly recommend that you do the setting from behink the device for safety reason, but that also give you good leverage

What size clays will this shoot?

Answer: I only ever tried the regular size I never tried any of the small ones or anyting else

Can the shooter operate alone or does it take another person to do?

Answer: Another individual is needed to use it. The one I received has the holes for assembly backwards, which requires a return or drilling out new holes for assembly.

Where can i get parts? Im looking for the torsion spring and tightening nut.

Can you load two clay pigeons on it?

Answer: Yes you may load two clays at the same time.

Answer: Yes, it wll throw doubles. Lay the pigeons one behind tbe other on the arm. They should be touching.

Answer: Would have to be a low angle. Clays slide off pretty easily

Answer: Yes, it's made to fling either 1 or 2 at a time. However, you need to tighten the spring (black knob at the lower back end of the launch-rail) so it has enough strength to fling the weight of 2 at a time. But if you adjust that for 2 it will shatter 1 (lighter weight) so you'd need to loosen the spring to fling only 1 at a time. So it's not quick to go back and forth...set it for 1 or 2 at a time and enjoy. Hope that helps.

Answer: Hand. Pull a string to release.

Can this be altered and mounted to a trailer hitch?

Answer: We would not suggest that. If you need to transport this we suggest to secure it very well to a trailer and cover the small parts so they do not fall off in transit.

Answer: Well, with a bunch of steel and a welding torch and motivation Id think you could...but I dont see how off the top of my head.

Answer: Absolutely, you can do anything you like to it...I bolted mine to the bush hog on my tractor...rock solid and mobile

How many clays can it throw at the same time?

Answer: The Trius Trap Shooters will throw one clay at a time. We do have a newer product that is called "Launch Pad" which uses 12 volt Volt deep cycle battery. The magazine will load 50 clays.

Answer: It can throw 2 at the same time. We really like it and have used it several times now over about 3 years.

I previously owned a Trius Original Trap for many years that was past down to me by my father who also used it for many years, until the main spring broke at the range and at that time decided to purchase a new one. Of course I purchased the same Trius Original Trap from here. It shipped very quickly and was the lowest price I could locate.
I go to the range quite often and every time it works flawlessly. Do not skimp out and buy one of those other cheaper throwers on here. The trius trap is the only one to buy. I have seen many of the cheaper throwers in action and it will cause you more headaches and broken clays then the fun you are supposed to be having,
If you are in the market for a new thrower, dont look any further, make the purchase and dont look back.

Excellent construction! First time we used it; we threw about 300 clays and it preformed like a champ! Throw angle is adjustable, so we were able to throw them nice and high for us beginners. Definitely recommend!

This little clay-flinger is the bomb! I did a slight modification as I don't have anybody to load/fire it for me...so I put the spare-tire mounting bolt on sticking UP instead of down, and I drilled holes in my dive-weights and now I can simply stack them on the bolt giving it 28lbs of weight right where you'd be putting your foot to hold it in place when it flings. Then I put a long string on in place of the short one that comes with it for the 'pull' lever so I can set it off myself from any distance my string will reach (I currently have about a 20 yd string)...works GREAT! I can now have clays fly across in front of me making it harder (and more fun) to shoot! The quality of this unit is excellent, well worth any extra cost over the uber-cheap chinese units! I've gone thru a few boxes of clays already and not a hint of any problems. Well done Trius! About the only thing I could wish for is an autoloading feature, but that would cost a fortune... so I guess I can walk over and re-cock and load it myself. Dollar for dollar you can't beat this unit!

Only used it a few times so I can't comment on it's durability but it seems sturdy enough.
Very easy to cock, yet throws plenty far.
The only drawback is that it's difficult to throw 2 at once.
Overall I would give it a high grade and definitely worth the money.
