Unlike round points cut on a lathe, the tip of the point will not lay over if a bone is struck while gaffing a fish. Gaff handles are made from highly-polished aluminum. Features functional and desirable grips, the same used on professional exercise machines. Designed to offer maximum holding power with wet hands. Gaffs up to 3’have one grip. All gaffs 4’and above have two hand grips.

Are these for serious fishermen?

it comes with hook protector or not

Answer: It does, but it's not too reliable. Rather easily can slip out of the protector if it's being handled.

Answer: Yes it does. Metallic and like a very tight coil spring.

Do these have point protectors?

Answer: No, mine didn't come with one. I bought the metal sea striker protector, which I find to be functioning very well.
