NESCO Snackmaster Clean-A-Screens are ideal for dehydrating sticky fruits and small foods. Dry items like spices and herbs that would normally fall through the spokes of the dehydrator tray. Each removable mesh screen flexes for easy removal of sticky fruits like pineapple and is made of high-quality food grade plastic. To use, simply dry food on the rough side of the screen. will these fit Mr coffee dehydrator
Answer: No, they won't (these are 13 inches across), but the Presto liners I bought did. They were slightly inclined toward the middle hole, so they won't fit on the top rack with the lid. Just use the line that came with the Mr. Coffee on the top tray and use Presto (measures approximately 12.5 inches) liners in the others. Worked just fine so far. Don't use heated dry if you put them in the dishwasher.

Answer: Based on the other answer with the diameter of the inside hole and the diameter of the screens given, this should work for my Oster. It has a 3 inch hole and an measurement from the edge of hole to the inside edge of the outer ring is 13", so 12.5 inch diameter will just leave a little space on the outside edge. I am going to give it a try.

Would this be the right tray for dehydrating sprouted grains, such as spelt, or would the grains fall through?
Answer: Try placing the fruit roll sheet directly onto your tray. Then place your fine gains and herbs onto it. If you see that they are blowing around and getting tiny , then I would place one of your screens over your grains so they don't fly around.
Answer: I don't know about that because I've never entertained the idea of dehydrating sprouted grains. I just looked at my Clean-A-Screen tray and I don't think they would fall through because they have puffed up a bit. I don't do any sprouting myself but am going to give it a try after the holidays. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Using two screens with the items sandwiched in between does the trick for that! You might have to adjust your drying time, though! Good luck!

Answer: Food grade plastic. Don't think you'll have any issues there. Have dried multiple fruits and veggies and haven't noticed anything that would make me wary of them.
Answer: I'm not sure of the exact material, but they're some kind of flexible plastic. Mine warped and distorted after two uses and melted to pieces after three uses, all while drying walnuts and cashews that I'd soaked in salt water.

Answer: They don’t need to be... Once the fruit/meat has dried sufficiently, it doesn’t stick at all. Additionally, spray seems to “gum up” over time (I did this previously.)
Answer: I've never had to use anything on the trays because nothing really sticks to them! If anything sticks all you do is bend the flexible piece and it pops right off. I have dehydrated watermelon, papaya, carambola, etc and nothing has stuck enough to worry about.

Instead of spraying non stick spray I recommend purchasing screens for your dehydrator trays. I purchased screens and absolutely love them. I use the fruit roll up screen on the very bottom to catch any juice from dehydrating. Food doesn't stick to the screens like it does directly on the trays and clean up is a lot easier. Answer: It would seem that it would be easy to dry seeds for planting, if that is your question. It has temp control but tiny seeds may be affected by the "wind" . I was always told to toast seeds for eating, however. This is just speculation based on my limited knowledge and experience, though.

Answer: I usually keep one of the solid trays in the bottom of the dehydrator all the time to catch bits that may fall through the screens, so it has been in there on all different temps and for hours at a time without any problems. I just recently dried some roasted garlic on a tray at fairly high temp over several days (turned it off at night) with no problem either.
Answer: I have never had a problem with any of my trays melting. I use them at all temps and when I'm done with a tray, I wash and dry them for the next usage. Perhaps you had a defective one? I would certainly contact the company and let them know what happened.

Answer: I've dried meats without the screens and it worked fine. The screens provide two main benefits: they are flexible which makes it easier to remove your dried product at the end. They have smaller holes than the trays which prevents smaller items from falling through.

Answer: Probably, depends on how big the balls of pollen are. If they are big then this should be fine, but medium or small may fall through the holes. As a guide, things that are the size of bought dried oregano flakes will probably fall through, things the size of pepper flakes will probably not fall through.

I got a very basic Oster dehydrator as a gift a few years ago, and quite honestly I never even took it out of the box until a few months ago. At that point, I played a bit with it, making banana chips and such. This is also my first year doing any serious gardening, and part of what I grew was a small herb garden. I wanted something that would let me dry my herbs without making a total mess of the dehydrator. These trays were perfect. I've dried oregano, basil, and others with no muss or fuss. The trays also have the benefit of being safe to wash in the dishwasher.

The product itself appears to be well made, durable, flexible. However, it was presented as a set of two screens; I only received one screen for the price.
Mountain Mama : A Necessary Addition for Dehydration
This is the second order for these trays. I use these trays for everything that I dehydrate - makes it so easy to bottle up whatever I have dried. They are great for spices and fruit - even jerky. Once your items are dry, just bend the screen and slide your goodies into whatever you are using to store them in - really, these screens make it soooo easy!
Then place on top shelf of the dishwasher. After the washing cycle is over, I remove the screens, shake the water off, put in the dehydrator and turn that on for 2-3 minutes to dry the screens.

We bought our first several screens about 4 years ago to cover broken spines in our old Harvest Maid dehydrator racks. They worked well for this use. However we discovered to our delight that dried food came off these screens very easily versus the regular racks. Just twist and pour onto a baking sheet. We have now ordered enough to use on all of our racks. We no longer put food items directly on the racks. It sure makes cleaning a lot easier.

The screens do not get in the way of the airflow and make it easier to dry smaller items that may fall through the standard trays. The screens clean up very easy after use and make it much easier to dehydrate a variety of items. Try small marshmallows using the screens for a treat.

These things catch 95% of the stuff that used to get stuck in the slots in the frames, reducing a 45 minute clean-up to 5 minutes. I use them flat side up, and the jerky just about slides right off!

When dehydrating tomatoes, they tend to stick to my trays, these screen trays really help in removing the tomatoes when they stick to the trays.

I only use my dehydrator for making beef jerky and I can't believe I ever survived without these. Clean up is SO easy!!! Now I still throw the trays in the dishwasher but it doesn't have caked on beef. These can get scrubbed without messing up your trays. Don't hesiate and buy these you will thank yourself in the future!

Clean up is simpler with these Nesco American Harvest Clean-A-Screen Trays, but hand washing them is not so simple. They are especially difficult to clean after making jerky, but they do come clean nicely if you toss them in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Don't believe that food won't stick! It will. But you will find that removing sticky items from these is much easier than removing it from the bare dehydrator racks.
So far, they seem relatively durable, and well worth the price.

THEY WERE NOT THE ADVERTISED SIZE FOR MY NESCO DEHYDRATOR! THEY DO THE JOB BUT BECAUSE OF THE 3”too small circumference, all the available space cannot be used, causing wasted electricity! ! NO RETURN INFO WITH ITEMS!

These trays really open up the variety of foods and herbs that can be dried. However, my first time using them, they warped! This makes it really annoying to dehydrate foods because the parts that warp up are not usable because the food will just roll of of them. This has happened to all my trays no matter what I had on them - filled or not. So now I have 4 warped trays that still work, just not as good.

These where a nice addition. However after using them a couple times they do start to warp. I don't think its the brand through because all of mine have warped. I've be interested to see if other dehydrators have that problem or just mine. They are perfect for my needs and I will be getting more as I need them.

Michael : Clean-a-screens make drying small sized items easier and less time-consuming.
We liked that the Nesco LM-2 clean-a-screens actually do the job well .... meaning small nuts or seeds do not fall through the screen in drying, and they are quite easy to clean. We dried walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, all of which had been soaked 24 hours prior to drying. As summer approaches, we will dry more garden veggies than we used to. It seems these screens will make drying moist veggies a less messy project.

These make the dehydrator trays a lot easier to clean and re-use. The food peels up or pops off pretty easily once dried, and if it sticks, all you have to do is lift up this mat, and the food will pop right off by itself. I don't even clean my trays anymore until the end of the harvest season when I put the dehydrator away for the winter. Feels a little over-priced for what you get though...

I used these in my Nesco dehydrator to dry a ton of in-season fruits. They are super easy to clean; they rinse off cleanly and require no elbow grease. They fit perfectly in my dehydrator. I feel they are a good value.

Nesco brand, fits my older model 60 Nesco dehydrator, like it said it would. Description exactly matches product. Good quality. I'm already using them and they work great. If you're new to dehydrating, consider lightly coating the tray surfaces where the food will lay... with pure food grade oil (grapeseed, avocado, olive). (Very light. Wipe any excess off.) Starchy foods like banana, strawberry slices won't stick so much. I've found the screens are great for drying herbs (no oil needed so far). Basil, Rosemary and Catnip so far... good product.

My only complaint is that there is no power switch. When you plug it in, it immediately comes on. The only way to shut it off is to unplug it. In my tiny kitchen, this is not an easy task. To access the only available outlet, I have to get down on my hands and knees and reach down under a table. I don't think a power switch located on the unit itself would have been too difficult to add to its settings. Nesco, are you listening?
