NESCO Snackmaster Clean-A-Screens are ideal for dehydrating sticky fruits and small foods. Dry items like spices and herbs that would normally fall through the spokes of the dehydrator tray. Each removable mesh screen flexes for easy removal of sticky fruits like pineapple and is made of high-quality food grade plastic. To use, simply dry food on the rough side of the screen. will these fit Mr coffee dehydrator
Answer: No, they won't (these are 13 inches across), but the Presto liners I bought did. They were slightly inclined toward the middle hole, so they won't fit on the top rack with the lid. Just use the line that came with the Mr. Coffee on the top tray and use Presto (measures approximately 12.5 inches) liners in the others. Worked just fine so far. Don't use heated dry if you put them in the dishwasher.

Answer: Based on the other answer with the diameter of the inside hole and the diameter of the screens given, this should work for my Oster. It has a 3 inch hole and an measurement from the edge of hole to the inside edge of the outer ring is 13", so 12.5 inch diameter will just leave a little space on the outside edge. I am going to give it a try.

Would this be the right tray for dehydrating sprouted grains, such as spelt, or would the grains fall through?
Answer: Try placing the fruit roll sheet directly onto your tray. Then place your fine gains and herbs onto it. If you see that they are blowing around and getting tiny , then I would place one of your screens over your grains so they don't fly around.
Answer: I don't know about that because I've never entertained the idea of dehydrating sprouted grains. I just looked at my Clean-A-Screen tray and I don't think they would fall through because they have puffed up a bit. I don't do any sprouting myself but am going to give it a try after the holidays. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Answer: I'm not sure of the exact material, but they're some kind of flexible plastic. Mine warped and distorted after two uses and melted to pieces after three uses, all while drying walnuts and cashews that I'd soaked in salt water.

Answer: They don’t need to be... Once the fruit/meat has dried sufficiently, it doesn’t stick at all. Additionally, spray seems to “gum up” over time (I did this previously.)
Answer: I've never had to use anything on the trays because nothing really sticks to them! If anything sticks all you do is bend the flexible piece and it pops right off. I have dehydrated watermelon, papaya, carambola, etc and nothing has stuck enough to worry about.

I use the fruit roll up screen on the very bottom to catch any juice from dehydrating. Food doesn't stick to the screens like it does directly on the trays and clean up is a lot easier. Answer: I usually keep one of the solid trays in the bottom of the dehydrator all the time to catch bits that may fall through the screens, so it has been in there on all different temps and for hours at a time without any problems. I just recently dried some roasted garlic on a tray at fairly high temp over several days (turned it off at night) with no problem either.
Answer: I have never had a problem with any of my trays melting. I use them at all temps and when I'm done with a tray, I wash and dry them for the next usage. Perhaps you had a defective one? I would certainly contact the company and let them know what happened.

Answer: Probably, depends on how big the balls of pollen are. If they are big then this should be fine, but medium or small may fall through the holes. As a guide, things that are the size of bought dried oregano flakes will probably fall through, things the size of pepper flakes will probably not fall through.

I purchased a food dehydrator last year and decided to see what was available to go with it. I didn't know what the clean a screen was so I just ordered a set of two. These are a must! I loved them and ordered enough to use on every tray I had. They are so great. It keeps small foods from going strait through the tray holes. Some tiny things still go through, but it is still very helpful. I process my cabbage, carrots, onions, etc. to a ground up consistency for making cabbage soup and dehydrate them so it makes it fast and easy to make the soup. These clean a screens lets the air and heat circulate around the food while it dries. They clean up sooooooooo easy. I just wash them by hand with a few wipes of the dish cloth, the small amount of food left on them comes right off. I do spray them with a small amount of cooking spray and the food doesn't stick to them.

We liked that the Nesco LM-2 clean-a-screens actually do the job well .... meaning small nuts or seeds do not fall through the screen in drying, and they are quite easy to clean. We dried walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, all of which had been soaked 24 hours prior to drying. As summer approaches, we will dry more garden veggies than we used to. It seems these screens will make drying moist veggies a less messy project.

I got a Nesco dehydrator for Christmas and used it several times before I realized that this was an accessory that I needed. It solved the problem of little bits falling through the slots and cleaned up nicely. It would be nice if the company included this with the dehydrator. Even if you start out with pieces that don't fall through, as they dry they become smaller and can fall through so it's a must have if you aren't drying large pieces.

These came as a recommended purchase with the NutriChef electric food dehydrator I purchased. They did not fit in the food dehydrator and I had to cut them to fit. The plastic was really brittle and ended up cracking in many places as I was cutting them to fit. On the upside, they do a great job of keeping my dried fruit off of the dehydrator trays. We bought our first several screens about 4 years ago to cover broken spines in our old Harvest Maid dehydrator racks. They worked well for this use. However we discovered to our delight that dried food came off these screens very easily versus the regular racks. Just twist and pour onto a baking sheet. We have now ordered enough to use on all of our racks. We no longer put food items directly on the racks. It sure makes cleaning a lot easier.

These are a must-have when dehydrating. They make it so things don't fall as easily through the grates and the food just pops right off, not sticking. I've dehydrated everything from meats, cherries, bananas, corn, spaghetti squash, butternut squash puree on them and they are priceless.

Junk! These are not the original Nesco clean a screens that my machine came with. They dont fit right, they puff up when the heat is turned on, they have a plastic smell to them when I am drying the food and I cannot put as much food on the tray with these. The holes are also bigger on these and the food falls all around the screen. I will have to find the original ones and pay the extra, because these are garbage.
Collector's Overstock : Awesome Product
I purchased these because I have some from a previous order and they work great! The trays are so much easier to clean than using the trays without the screens. The food doesn't stick like it does on the plastic trays. My husband makes fresh chicken jerky for our Siberian Husky she loves them. In fact she's so spoiled she won't eat any other treat you can get from a store. She loves her 100% chicken breasts! I would highly recommend this product.

When I purchased my dehydrator it came with two of these screens and after my first use decided that I was definitely going to purchase more. They make a big difference in cleanup and keep most of your dehydrated foods from sticking to the trays. They are easy to clean and can be thrown in the dishwasher for a quick wash.
If you are going to be using your dehydrator much I definitely think that picking these up would make the process a little bit easier and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

These trays work as advertised and food does not stick to them and they do help keep the dehydrator trays clean. I've used them about 5 times now and nothing so far has stuck on them. I did have some concerns that these screens may hinder air flow but haven't noticed any difference in drying times so far. They definitely make it easier to pick up and "funnel" the dried items into a container (if you "plug" the center hole of the screen with your free hand), and clean up really easy. I will order some more for the additional trays I've ordered.

The screens do not get in the way of the airflow and make it easier to dry smaller items that may fall through the standard trays. The screens clean up very easy after use and make it much easier to dehydrate a variety of items. Try small marshmallows using the screens for a treat.

if you use your dehydrator for small items, like basil or rosemary, etc, this will help them not fall thru the screen. if you dry fruit, these are way, way easier to clean than the dehydrator trays. they can soak in the sink, unlike the trays, which are too big. good value for the money too.

these work great , especially for small items, like herbs and little seeds and such. other reviews said that it melted on them with pictures. Well mine have worked fine for me. I have a nesco brand with a knob for heat settings. Not just on or off as some other ones do. And i even turned the heat up after a couple of hours and it did not melt at all. so i am not sure what happened to other people.

I found the actual trys easier to clean rather than these. I would say I you are doing small stuff that might fall through the tray these would work but sticky items are easier turn with out these.

These screens are a must have if you're dehydrating sticky foods! My Nesco dehydrator only came with two of these, so I ordered more so I could have them in each tray. They allow you to pick up the clean-a-screen when you're done hydrating and flex them so the stuck items just pop off. They are very, very handy. I actually use them with everything I dehydrate. Plus they seem to hold up really well ... I've been using mine for a few months now with several trips through the dehydrator and washing (hand washing) and haven't had a single break, tear, crack, etc.

I love my Nesco dehydrator and I use it all the time. These screens make it so easy to remove the dried food - you just bend them and the food comes off great. They are easy to clean either by hand or dishwasher top rack. I can’t imagine using my dehydrator without them.

These are great and work fine. But they should have been included in the dryer. It was annoying and disappointing to have to order these separately. I was new to drying fruit, and when you cut up oranges, among other things, you need these trays.

THEY WERE NOT THE ADVERTISED SIZE FOR MY NESCO DEHYDRATOR! THEY DO THE JOB BUT BECAUSE OF THE 3”too small circumference, all the available space cannot be used, causing wasted electricity! ! NO RETURN INFO WITH ITEMS!

Love this for those small items that need to be dehydrated. Chopped garlic and made my own garlic powder. Nothing falls through. Now onto basil, parsley and other seasonings.

I have a really old dehydrator and wasn't sure if these would fit or not, but they fit perfectly. I cleaned them and used them the day they arrived. I dried some banana and pineapple slices and they popped right off when I flexed the sheets. No more getting stuck on the hard plastic. Cleanup has always been the hardest thing about drying food. These will make drying anything much easier. Not sure why I waited so long to get these but sure am glad of them now.

Mountain Mama : A Necessary Addition for Dehydration
This is the second order for these trays. I use these trays for everything that I dehydrate - makes it so easy to bottle up whatever I have dried. They are great for spices and fruit - even jerky. Once your items are dry, just bend the screen and slide your goodies into whatever you are using to store them in - really, these screens make it soooo easy!
Then place on top shelf of the dishwasher. After the washing cycle is over, I remove the screens, shake the water off, put in the dehydrator and turn that on for 2-3 minutes to dry the screens.

My only complaint is that there is no power switch. When you plug it in, it immediately comes on. The only way to shut it off is to unplug it. In my tiny kitchen, this is not an easy task. To access the only available outlet, I have to get down on my hands and knees and reach down under a table. I don't think a power switch located on the unit itself would have been too difficult to add to its settings. Nesco, are you listening?

Horrible to use with any type of liquid consistency, like Fruit Rollups, etc. Not only did the pulp leak through the grates, but it then stuck to the drying tray, which caused everything to stick. Washing my trays then became a huge chore. Worked great for Ground Meat Jerky, which I will only use for.

I've had my dehydrator for about 10 years, but I only used it about twice a year, because it is so much trouble cleaning it up. That' gonna change now! These things catch 95% of the stuff that used to get stuck in the slots in the frames, reducing a 45 minute clean-up to 5 minutes. I use them flat side up, and the jerky just about slides right off!

I purchased a food dehydrator last year and decided to see what was available to go with it. I didn't know what the clean a screen was so I just ordered a set of two. These are a must! I loved them and ordered enough to use on every tray I had. They are so great. It keeps small foods from going strait through the tray holes. Some tiny things still go through, but it is still very helpful. I process my cabbage, carrots, onions, etc. to a ground up consistency for making cabbage soup and dehydrate them so it makes it fast and easy to make the soup. These clean a screens lets the air and heat circulate around the food while it dries. They clean up sooooooooo easy. I just wash them by hand with a few wipes of the dish cloth, the small amount of food left on them comes right off. I do spray them with a small amount of cooking spray and the food doesn't stick to them.

I’ve been using the Nesco FD-75PR Food Dehydrator since August 2012. These Nesco LM-2 Clean-A-Screen liners are invaluable. I dehydrate meat, peppers, herbs (basil, mint, oregano) & fruit (bananas, mangos, pineapple & lots more). The dehydrator gets used every couple of weeks.

When it comes to herbs, it keeps the small leaves from falling through to the bottom of the unit.

It seemed to me they were a little bit heavier weight than the orginal but thats a good thing.
The main reason I got them was for easier cleanup. I like to dehydrate jerky made from a jerky gun. When I would squirt the jerky straight onto the trays it would tend to swell into the grills of the tray. This made it harder to remove and made cleanup a real mess. So I ended up squriting onto wax paper and moving them to the trays.
With these screens in place I can squirt right onto the screen/tray and it doesn't stick hard or create a mess. What little mess it creates is much easier to cleanup since it is on the surface and not in between the grids. For cleanup I leave the screen on the tray and use a nylong scrub brush. Works better than sponge or pad.
Of course you can also use these to dry smaller items that might fall through. But thats not my big concern right now. I'm happy to have less mess.
The only drawback I see is that they are overpriced. [money amount]for [money amount] worth of plastic. Also to make sure you cover all of your trays you have to buy 2 packs.
