Which of these two fiberglass reproductions looks more realistic and lifelike? They are both great reproductions, I think.
Option A:
Option B:
Thanks in advance for your input.
First one looks more like the average smallies I catch. Second is lighter in color than most but I have caught some that light too. Either of them look great.
the detail in the first pic around the fins is more life like
The first one. My first thought was also that the fins look more realistic. Both are nice though.
I prefer the first replica.

I like the first one.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be getting a replica of my personal best soon.
Is that the PB in your avatar? It will be interesting to compare the pics when you get the replica back.

No Kent, that is a 5 lber I caught in VT in 2006. My PB is this one that I caught this April in Massachusetts. She weighed 6-4.
That thing is a beast I think the first mount looks best, but I like the wood on the second mount.
WOW!
Now, that's something special...Can't wait to see the replica!

Nice fish. 8-)
Hands down, number one.
1st replica looks better to me. that 6-4 is a hawg
Definitely #1
That smallie is incredible, congrats!
First one without a doubt.
who did those 2 mounts you showed pics of. im curious cause i have a fish i might wanna get done and its always good to have a good guy lined up if i get that hog.
The first one, from what we can see.
The first one was done by Rich Benedict in upstate NY. The second one was done by Gary Bruch in PA.
They both look pretty darn nice. If it matters, I do like the driftwood.
The first one has much more detail, it would be nice to have the first one with a piece of driftwood.
The first one looks better, and great fish!
The first one has better detail and color in my opinion
They are both real nice! I just think the markings are too good.Color variation is a odd thing with the smalljaws some are all striped up and dark and some are just bronze. All are beautiful. Just get whoever does it the best pic you can and hope he can replicate your fish to that beauty we see. The mounts shown have very, very symmetrical stripes that is my only hang up. Maybe I just stared too long.

Too symmetrical? number 1 is all but symmetrical (maybe that's why it looks the best of the two). :-? Beautiful replicas and awesome PB!!! Be sure to post the rep. when it's done!
Thanks for all the feedback, I ordered my replica mount from the guy that did #1 and will post photos once I receive it.
Everyone's looking forward to seeing your mount, probably
as much as you are! I'm sure it will turn out great.

I think the coloration in the first one looks more realistic however I have seen smallies as light as the second replica, especially in early spring.
def the first, especially cause your PB is darker like the first one! ;D
BEAUTIFUL FISH!
Hey Husky -
Do you mind sharing the contact info for the guy that did your mount? I am interested in placing an order.
Thanks,
Rich

the first one is nicer... i like it a lot more because of the details, but the second fish colour is nicer to me, i like the light greenish brown color.
and btw, nice PB, awesome!
I could never get into the replicas. I'd rather have a nice 8x10 picture.

The question is "Which looks better?"
Pictures are great, but there's nothing like having
a mount that is built and painted which looks exactly
like the best fish of your life. I hope everyone considers
a replica over a real skin trophy.

Monster smallies
the first one looks better--the 2nd is faded too much
great catches
1st........ seconds a little green
Option A:
Here's a photo of my actual reproduction mount, received today. It looks so much better in person. I am thrilled with the job he did.
Too cool!
You da MAN!

One more Kent, photo credit to my 8 year old son Carter. The flash makes it look much lighter color than it really is.
Seriously...GREAT looking mount!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Mike, It really does look like the fish you caught. Now it's my turn.
That's a beautiful mount! Kudos to you for releasing the fat girl and choosing a replica!
