Hey everyone,
Let's get a look at your favorite Smallmouth pictures! What was your set up when you caught it too?
A lot of you have been fishing this winter, and a lot of you have had good fishing so far and spring weather. Me, and a lot of people up north, haven't been so lucky! It's been cold until recently and now it's been raining for 3 days!
So let's see 'em guys! I'll start.... 2.5" Cabin creek tube, St Croix legend tournament bass 610mxf, Pfleuger President reel.
Nice healthy bass.. Congrats!
Both of these were taken using my St. Croix LTB 6'10" ML/XF throwing a drop shot 1 with a Berkley Bottom Hopper Jr. , the other with A YUM Warning Shot or Kill Shot.
Caught on St. Croix Legend Xtreme 6'6" M/F throwing a Rapala Shadow Rap Deep
Caught on Rapala Shadow Rap Thrown on 6'6" Legend Xtreme M/F and Xcalibur XCS100 thrown on a 7'2" LTB M/M
Probably another week and I'll be able to get out on the river and chase some toads again! Super pumped!
One last one that wasn't from last year but still one of my favorite smallie pics
5wt fly rod with a stone fly and the other on a powerworm.
Awesome pictures guys! Makes My best fish seem like minnows haha

I bet it's a blast catching them on the fly. Talk about a fight!
It is one of my favorite catches yet. I always carry the fly rod when they are shallow, its a blast!
A few favorites all caught on a custom St Croix legend extreme blank MHM and 10lb braid with a mono leader fishing jerk baits.

These are some GIANTS, Dwight. Awesome fish sir!
WOW!! After looking at everyone's fish I'm glad I haven't figured out how to post pics on here yet... :-)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I may forget how too...it's been forever since I took a picture of an actual real live fish I caught!
Wow, Looks like you guys have done some serious fishing and been very successful. Good Job guys!
Here's a favorite pic of a 4.5 lb. smallie which is a decent fish, of course, but memorable because It took a bait I had doubts about: the Duo Realis Spin Bait 80. This is an unusual looking lure which I researched fairly extensively and then decided to spend $12.99 on (in 2013) and try it out using the presentation I had read about and watched on video: 7' ML rod (St. Croix Avid) and light fluoro (6 lb. Sunline Sniper on a Stradic 2500). This was my first fish on the Spin Bait! It's been a go-to bait for two years now.

That's a great fish any day of the week to me!
Got this one on a drop-shot in about 30 feet of water. Went 4.25 lbs.
4.2 lbs on zoom super speed craw
Action shot
My son. Pic didn't do it justice. He also caught a 5lb largemouth that day while I caught the skunk
Son with a Sturgeon Bay football
Dad with a Sturgeon Bay football
Door County at night
A little porker I caught near home
Not sure why I had that stupid look on my face
Legitimate Sturgeon Bay football. It was bigger around than it was long. I think it measured 12" or so
Looks like you spend some quality time on Sturgeon Bay Slonezp
From the week I finally busted the 5lb mark for smallmouth. Crazy how one day I was in shorts and a cut off and the next I was in my bibs. Sucks that we couldn't put em in the livewell, we had over 25lbs for the day. Mainly 2/3lbers but when you're catching em hand over fist I'll take that any day.
A few from last year. Mighty Mohawk All Day!!

Great pictures especially the last one of your dad.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I know this is a family-friendly site. My dad is the greatest human being I've ever met and probably could have been a Pastor. Have never heard him swear or flip the bird in my life... but I think the photo captured his sentiments and those of our entire family ~

I know I wasn't offended. Not only is it a sweet fish, but out of context, the finger is just a finger.
Not to worry. Sometimes it just happens.

Picture 4 is the best
New favorite from the OP! Still, after another season, I'm not the best fishing pic taker. They never seem to do the fish justice!
This Smallie was 22.5" and 5.1 pounds!
Cabin Creek Salty Critter Jr tube in green pumpkin blue flake rigged on a Cadman's Smallie Slidin' jig.
St Croix Legend Tournament Bass 610mlxf
Shimano Stradic FK spinning 2500

Thanks! Like I said, the pic doesn't do it justice even. That fish was SO fat it was crazy.
My pb smallie. First time smallmouth fishing since I was a teenager. I was using a Ned rig on a 7'2" medium fast spinning rod. This is in a smaller creek that runs through a nature park that nobody fishes. I can't wait until it warms up to get back out there!
My favorite smallmouth photos .
My second biggest of the year (caught my biggest about a half hour before this one). Caught on a drop shot Zoom finesse worm fished on a 6'8" M EF St. Croix Mojo Bass spinning rod with a Daiwa Procyon 2500 reel. This fish had great coloration and fought harder than any bass I've had on before. Hopefully I can catch some bigger ones once this ice melts.
40 degrees out. caught this one 1/3/2017. my PB of 2017 so far.
4.2 pounds. on 3" storm shad swimbait. 7' st. croix medium heavy rod/shimano saros 2500 reel. 10 pound mono line.
@scaleface, those are all stud smallmouth but that one on the top!!!! Holy crap
Vilas County Wisconsin Fatty.
Swim Jig with Kalin Scrub trailer
May 2016
Couple of NH smallies. Right around 4lbs. My brother in laws first smallies in his life. Thought it was the state record!!!
Best one last year because my son caught it. Great day for us.
Great pics everyone. I'm lucky enough to live on Lake Simcoe, I have a hard time choosing pics, I'll narrow it down to 5.
Part of a 29lbs bag in 2015

Right?! Is it too soon to count the minutes? Beautiful fish Ajay. They have such incredible color and detail! Big fish here tend to be very dark and only the little ones have such pronounced stripes and patterns. Lucky guy!
My all time favorite PB.
Thank you for the motivation!
By now means a big fish, but a favorite photo still! Smallies love them some pbj
One of the only fish of the first outing last year.
first fishing trip with my girlfriend bagged this smallie on a kvd sexy dawg around dusk not huge but still fun and it brings back memories which is what it's all about
My go to topwater smallie spot, caught her on a Sexy Dawg Jr. thrown on a Daiwa Tatula 100HSL attached to a 6'6" Daiwa Lexa and 30lbs Power Pro Super 8 Slick in timber brown. What made her special? This is the first fish that I couldn't fit into a selfie picture...lol
This was a couple years ago. She was a heavy 5, not my biggest, but I think it's a cool pic.
I 'm experiencing technical difficulties lol to get pics posted but my biggest 6.2 & 6.5 came on back to back casts on a strike king goby.
cheers

From the Susquehanna last month, my tube hanging from the smallmouth's jaw, another tube (not ours) in the middle, and a live crawfish to the right.

I think its a fair bet to say that guy likes crawfish!!
The first fish was so much fun. It hit a surface lure at the end of a long cast. I was reeling the lure as fast as I could to follow up with a Senko when it hit again. Then it hit a third time as I was pulling the lure out of the water and hooked itself. I love the shape of the second fish. For photos, I do my best to crank my arm back to get the fish in line with my body to best assess its size. Both fish were caught years ago as I haven't fished in six years, but that all changes next month when I'll fish for 23 straight days in northwestern Ontario. Both fish were caught from a Bell Kevlar canoe with Fish Eagle rods and Shimano spinning reels.
Dwight, I know why you liked my post. You want to know where I caught my smallmouth so you can catch some to use for bait to catch your smallmouth!
I think you'll recognize the spot on these photos Nik! Caught these beauts earlier this week at Big Falls!
A-Jay
Oomph! Those are some serious smallmouth, A-Jay.
A-Jay, I like how you change your angles when you pose with your pigs.
Wisconsin Heat, your fish look so healthy!
