Caught 3 about this size on a 5" senko today.
Were you targeting the crappie or did you catch them while fishing for bass or something else?

I was fishing for bass at the time
I caught a 16 inch crappie last summer on one! Thought I had a monster bass on, nope just a crappie
Cut the senko in half and put in on a 1/16oz jighead, crappie (and everything else), killer!
I've caught some really nice crappie pitching timber and docks on 1/2oz jigs. 2 of the biggest crappie I ever caught were 15" on a Zoom Horny Toad and 17" on a 3/4oz spinnerbait. They're not shy when they're feeding.
I find the 2" Senkos to be a dynamite crappie bait, although hard to find sometimes. I rig it on a 1/16 oz. jig head and drift. I also find that larger baits produce larger crappie. I'm an avid fan of 2" plastics of all styles and configurations. But recently I've been using the old 3" curly tail on a 1/8 oz. ball head with a great deal of success.
Z-man TRD 2.75" are great too. With the elaztech they just really hang in there all day as well.
Crappies over 12" are completely different animals. I have caught some big ones on buzz baits

Very true. I consistently catch big crappie during the winter at one of the power plant lakes while others using normal crappie gear struggle. I use nothing but a 3" power minnow on a 3/32oz head, which is considered a big bait by a lot of crappie guys. Once they see how tiny that bait looks in a 14" crappie's mouth they realize why it works.
This was last winter, 14.25" slab that thumped a War Eagle finesse spinnerbait off the end of a dock.
I catch some big one ps on 1/2oz hair jigs and big prop baits. They definitely are not shy.
Ya never know what they'll hit on! I caught a 2.3 pound crappie on a TX rigged Fat Ika once. Completely unexpected, but awesome.
Gotta love the attitude of slob slabs! I have stuck them on storm bluegill swimbaits/ large cranks.. Etc... They are really fun, hmm I need to go target them again!
I catch crappie all the time trolling Flicker Shads and Shad Raps in a size 7. Odd, but it works.
1/2oz rattle trap caught one that went 2 lbs out here, cast right back to the same spot and caught her 1.1lb boyfriend!
When rattle trap season comes. .... it seems I catch just as many crappie as I do bass! They love them!

You ought to go out to Douglas State Lake and catch a mess of those bass when the waters cold. I bet in that clear, rocky lake they taste pretty good and that lake needs a few thousand 12 inchers taken out of it. I know if I liked to eat fish I'd be out there doing exactly that in the spring and early winter.

Whats the size limit out there? I have a private Lake I clean out once or twice a year in Spring Hill with my son, we caught 50 in about 5 hours between use.
Largemouth Bass 2 18

That's not right though. I'm not sure when they changed it on the website but it's still a slot limit on that lake to encourage people to take the small fish out. Their length limits are messed up on a couple different lakes on the website for some reason. It's actually a 13-18 inch slot limit and you can have 5 a person. Get you and your boys out there and keep 15 12" bass and you'll have a pretty nice little mess of fish

Yep I caught a 5in. Sunfish in colorado on a 5in. Gyb D-shad!
Going out with a ul rod and reel and 4 lb test for crappie is awesome. Some of the most fun i had all summer. They just love to eat

What!! You can't catch fish on a Senko under a bobber! Bobbers are for beginners and have no place in bass fishing. A fluke on a darter head under a bobber doesn't work either, don't even think about trying it!

Thanks for the heads up, I`ll never go there. Big crappies hate LC jerks too.

You got that right! Crappie only eat tiny jigs and live minnows, no reason to waste your time fishing for them with jerkbaits
