Who All Has Caught 2 Fish On One Lure? 2024

This was from last fall before Minnesota hardwater. It was my last smallie wade fishin outing of the season. I was at the end of my trip that day and the below was definately one helluva way to close out my wadefishin year!!

No they weren't big girl smallies but it was the first time I've ever caught 2 fish on one crank at the same time

so how about others out there, whose gotten a 2 for one?

No photos, but I once caught two 1 pounders (LM) on a 0.5 oz excalibur one-knocker. The second fish bit within a second of setting the hook on the first one. Both were hooked inside the mouths too!

I've done it once. Both of them were dinks. Sure thought it was a good fish at first. Still was a heck of a surprise seeing two little fish hanging off the bottom of a rattletrap.

I've caught two whites on a rattle trap before. They were chasing shad. Guess one was trying to steal the others catch.

I've done it twice, and both times were last year, within a month of each other, on a pointer. It was definitely pretty cool haha..

I've done it several times. A couple times on a popper (once was a about an 8 incher on the front hook and a 4 1/2lber on the back)also had a bass/sunfish double on a popper. A couple times on cranks. Had a smallmouth/largemouth double on a jerkbait. I've had a couple doubles on rattlebaits also, largemouth doubles and whitebass doubles. I've got pictures of a few of them but with the exception of the one over 4 they've never been very big fish.

Has happened quite a few times, peacocks and jack crevelles. One time I had a bonita hit my line then a split second later my partner had a strike as well, we both ended up pulling in the same fish on 2 separate rods.

It has happened to me a couple of times. The last time it happened I caught two 18 inch bass on a Zara Spook.

did it a few years ago; at my first tournment!! Got two small bass on a Rapala Shallow Shad Rap. Has been my go to bait since then.

3 X in one weekend on a tournament. Small crank bait. I guess they were used to sharing.

The last time it took the rear treble hook off the bait. They were caught in the net (thank goodness), and both were 2 lbers.

I have had this happen 3 times that I can remember

First time was two short fish on a War Eagle 1/2 ounce spinner bait. The bait was flashing from the top of the first fishes head and the second went after it and was hooked

Twice on the SAME Zell-Pop last year. The first time was two 12 inchers that were schooling.

Last, and best, was on the Zell-pop on Guntersville. Had a monster come off a bed and hit it. While she was thrashing, a second hit the back hook.

Front hook had a 6.5 and the reat had a 4.5. They straightened out 4 of the 6 hooks. I used to have a pic, but I don't know what happened to it.

i tossed a large spinnerbait with a treble trailer hook into a school of 12-16 inch fish and barely hooked 2. i think i snagged the second one though

I have done it twice with dink river smallies on a spook and jerkbait. Both times it was very late in the season and the water was in the 45 degree range. Fishing was really fast those days. I think the smallies were desperate to feed before the water froze over.

I've been fishing before and hooked a small blue gill... as i got it back to the boat, i see a big flash and the bluegill run for its life. Didnt catch the fish but almost caught a striper fishing for bluegills with a worm!

I had 2 fight over a littler bandit 100 today, But have yet to get 2 on one lure.

I've done that with white bass also.

Last summer, I caught 2 dink LMB on a Bandit 200 series crank, one on each hook.

ive done this with a rebel lure once though. looking off and not paying attention, i hooked a small bluegill and it was jerking around. i look back to the water finally and a bass comes out from under an algae patch floating against the bank and nails this bluegill and goes into a tailwalk and starts swimming off with it, my line tightens the bass turns around dives out of the water like superman right in my direction, bluegill still sticking out of its mouth, i yank while the fish is in midair and see the bluegill fly down this basses throat and the tiny treble hook on the rebel lure set in the basses mouth, it was like watching a nature show, pretty wild...so i guess that could count as landing two fish at once, cept one fish was in the other fishes belly but were both hooked on my lure at one point in time. all this happened really quick, if i had blinked i woulda missed it

Did it twice within about 10 minutes of eachother. I'm fairly certain I got onto a decent sized school that was actively feeding. Caught both pair on a Bomber Model B that I picked up in last years Lure Swap here on BR

I've had it happen several times over the years.

The two most memorable were;

caught a dink LM, about 8" and a crappie more than big enough to eat the dink on a small Bomber crank. The crappie was just a hair over 20". Not sure if the crappie was trying to eat the crank or the bass.

while fly fishing for bluegill, using a small blank ant pattern fly, I had on a 6" gill when a 5lb LM ate the gill. I didn't get that little hook in the LM, but she ate the gill head first, and got it jammed in her throat. I landed both on a 3wt fly rod, with a 2lb test tippet. That was a hoot.

I have and my Uncle and I have caught the same bass with two different lures at the same time. We decided that which ever lure is further down the fish's mouth caught the bass.

I caught 2 blue runners (member of the jack family) on an L&S Mirro Lure off the Dearfield Beach fishing pier in Deerfield Beach Florida once.

i have not gotten a bite on this bait before or after I caught these. This bait ONLY catches two at a time

You may want to try this for fun, 2 fish on the same line but not same lure. Now and then I use a drop fly rig (a tarpon ploy that I sometimes use for bass)have caught 2 bass several times.

After 35 years of bass fishing I have never caught 2 on one lure. I was reeling in a small bass one time and all of a sudden it got a lot heavier. I asked my dad to get the net and while he was getting the net I got the fish to the surface just in time for the large bass to open his mouth and let the small bass that I had hooked go. My dad never saw it and to this day (30 years later) I still don't think he believes what happened!!
