Distance you Drive to Bass Pro Shops 2024

fishing user avatarBassin101 reply :

There is a possibility of a BPS being built in a large commercial/retail developement 5 mi. from my house.  However a political group funded by who knows who is against it because of tax incentives.

Tell me how far you drive to your BPS or other favorite Outdoor Sports Store.  Please.

fishing user avatarMuddpuppy reply :

Academy is about 30 mi. from here.  It is a sporting goods retailer.  There are Bass Pro Shops loacated in Sheveport La. and Dallas Tx. and are about 120 mi. away.

fishing user avatarchefxian reply :

From Jax to Orlano 2 hours. Jax to Savannah 2 hours. They need one in Jacksonville.

fishing user avatarTiger95 reply :

45 minutes from the one in Charlotte, NC.

fishing user avatarSkeeter6598 reply :

I drive 2 hours to the one in Grapevine, Tx. I'm coming for Kingston, Oklahoma! They now have one in Oklahoma City but it's about the same distance but the one in Grapevine has a better selection.

fishing user avatarFisher of Men reply :

I live about 40 minutes from the one in Grapevine, Tx.  There's also an academy within that distance, too.  I do quite a bit of my business at the local Wal-mart, too. (2 minutes away)

fishing user avatarBassin101 reply :

Fisher of Men, it's interesting that you brought up Wal-Mart, because there is a Super Wal-Mart included in the plan.  I'm going to have to leave my wallet at home to go to that center.  LOL ;D

fishing user avatarPhishn_Phool reply :

My closes is right here on the computer LOL, but really Orlando is about 45 minutes away.  I also go to wallyworld quite a bit.  The local tackle store love seeing me come in also.  Actually had a first the other day, I walked out of the store without spending a cent.  The owner said he was going to have to lay a girl off and turn off some lights  LMAO

fishing user avatardotz reply :

I drive 2 hours to Nashville to go to a BPS. My mother in law lives there so it is usually a big trip. I do must of my shopping at local stores but I usually make one big order or trip to BPS and drop a lot of cash.

fishing user avatarcgs2004 reply :

About 10 minutes north to Cabela's in KC.  I think we're getting a BPS here too, should open in 1 year.

fishing user avatarRaul reply :

20 min drive to the airport, 2 hour flight to Dallas or Houston, 15 min drive from the airport to the store.

fishing user avatarBassin101 reply :

Raul, will it be closer to come here to Phoenix when/if it opens?  If so I will pick you up at the airport.  BPS would 15 min. from there.  I will even take you to the family restaurant, the El Charro.

Cheers  ;)

Ric

fishing user avatarfishnazi reply :

I am going to school in springfield and it takes me 4 minutes to get to the BPS headquarters.  when i go home (st. louis) for the summer it takes me 25 minutes to the nearest BPS.  ;D ;D

fishing user avatarRattlinrogue reply :

Thanks ! but then I would have to fly or drive to Mexico City and then take a flight to Phoenix, Houston or Dallas are direct flight from Leon.

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Raul, Too funny. Twenty minute drive, two hour flight and another fifteen minute drive, just too funny. So, you go there often?

I'm ten or fifteen minutes away.

fishing user avatarMuddpuppy reply :

Raul - I'll pick you up in Dallas! ;D

fishing user avatartnroadrnr reply :

Oh about 10 minutes. They have one here in Memphis where I live. I go over there about twice a week on my lunch hour!   ;D

In the last two years I 've done it three times RW, two to Dallas and one to Houston, really, I had to be there and stay overnight so if I was already there, why not ? it 's incredible how fast you can whack a grand in such a short period of time :o, it only took me about two hours..... :-/, the great thing about BPS Grapevine ( Dallas ) is that you don 't have to spend in a cab, you just call the store and they send a shuttle to pick you up, now that 's what I call customer service ! ;D

Thanks Mudpuppy, next time I have to go I 'll give you a holler. Normally I go with a friend that lives in Mesquite but he 's not always there.

fishing user avatarJagrrich reply :

I drive about 25 min to Cabelas in Kansas, and soon a BPS will open <next spring  :'( > and it will be about 25 min as well. Right now the nearst BPS is in Columbia, MO. Next would be Springfield, MO.

fishing user avatarRebbasser reply :

Right now the closest one is outside Houston, about 2 1/2 hours away.  That's the downside.  Upside is they are building one about 15 minutes away-already clearing the land-and a new Cabelas about an hour north of here is about to open.  I drive by it almost every day so my commute will soon get a little longer ;) ;D

fishing user avatarabelfisher reply :

As far as I know there are none in Nor. Calif.  So all my shoppingisdome from my family room, via a wireless laptop ;D ;D I do wish they would build one as I have neverr been in one! :'( :'(

fishing user avatarLunkers0 reply :

I have only driven there once.  It took around 5 hours.  But I have a Cabelas that is about 45 minutes from me.

fishing user avatarNick_Barr reply :

I live in Washington and it would take me more than a day to drive to Las Vegas one, I have been to the one in Nashville while on vacation and next year me are going to table rock and will visit the BPS headquarters in springfield. But to get to my favorite stores it takes 10 min. to Wal-Mart/ 15 min. All Marine/ 40 min. to SPORTCO/ 1 hour to Outdoor emporium.

fishing user avatarJT Bagwell reply :

When I go to BPS (which isn't often), I drive about 3 hours.

I have a Gander Mountain and a Dick's Sporting Goods about 15-20 minutes away (depending on the traffic).

fishing user avatarCBedo reply :

They are building one near my house in Denver, set to open late in the fall.  But until then, I have to fly home to Dallas to see my mom, or more often, fly to see my brother in Vegas!  Gotta like a Bass Pro Shops directly connected to a casino!  Also, gotta love the Orange County Chopper that looks like a fish.

fishing user avatarcatcherman reply :

it takes me about 25-30 minutes to get to grapevine bps.  what a great store and selection.  we are getting a cabelas 30 minutes in a different direction soon!

fishing user avatarCJHooker reply :

I live in Murray, Ky.  It's two hrs. to BPS in nashville and three hrs. to Memphis.

Hey isn't the Cabelas opening up over in Ft. Worth off of 35 or is it opening in Denton? I keep hearing about it but I don't know my way around down there much and I'm wondering for sure where it's going to be.

I heard it's going to be down by Texas Motor Speedway but I'm not for sure! If it is that would save me about 30 minutes off my drive down there!

fishing user avatardigdug reply :

When I was a kid BPS was just a display in the Brown Derby packaged liquir store just a few blocks down the street.  Now BPS is about 90 mintues away.  I can remember when they first opened at the current location, back around 1980.  I can still go there and spend hours shopping.

fishing user avatarburneddude1 reply :

The closest one is in Myrtle Beach, its about a 25 min. drive off-season or 1hr. 25 min. during tourist season. but it seems to be stocked more for salt water fishing. Got a Wal-mart about a 5 min. drive from the house off season or 35 min. during tourist season. I'd love to have a good old tackle shop to go to. but here on the coast its all catered to salt water.

fishing user avatarFatdaddy150 reply :

BPS in Cincinatti, Ohio is 120mi from me. About an hour and 35 minute drive. Not a bad store, selection is smaller than some of the other stores. I go there about once a month. Good trip for me and my wife. She shops the mall for about three hours while I drool in BPS!!! They are finishing up the one being built in Clarksville IN, this will cut my drive in half. Looks like it is going to be huge! I've heard that it is going to be the second biggest BPS in the nation, only one bigger will be the headquarters. Does anyone know if this is true? Just a rumor I heard.

Tight Lines,

fishing user avatarHot n Tot reply :

Went yesterday.  It's 2 hours north to the one in Memphis TN.

fishing user avatarjake reply :

I have an hour drive to Harrisburg BPS.  Gander Mountain is about 45 min. and only 5 min. away from work. Gander Mountain has a better selection and is more convenient.

yup... and it's well worth the drive too if you just want to see some cool stuff. if you plan on shpping a whole lot, they have a thing called the internet and it's a great invention... i do all my shopping from BPS online now.  and now that gas is so danged expensive, i can't afford to drive that far anymore just to see a d**n big store with a lot of cool stuff.

fishing user avatarmac7373 reply :

Ohhh...about 15-20 minutes.  I go to the one here in Oklahoma City about three times a week.

fishing user avatarclooney reply :

Hour an a half to BPS right below Baltimore, Md...Five or ten minutes to Dick's depending on which one of the two I go to.
