Has anyone used the Langill lures Mr.Lovely? Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on them? http://www.kevinlangill.com/kevinlangill_catalog.htm
wow way overpriced lures there, I feel like for that price range you can get a better lure at TW
I agree, for a few bucks more you could get one of Mattlures hard baits..much more life like..and the quality is GREAT!!.. There are others too.
I'd hang it up too quick. I'm not buying a lure that expensive for that reason.
That rock bass swimbait looks great but not for what it costs.
The prices are high but I have seen them on e bay really cheap.
wow.might as well use live bait!
Most swimbaits are expensive. Does anyone have
a "fishing" comment? I want to know if they're
THE BOMB or just another good looking
lure. I have the $20 Spro BBZ and it sucks!

Exactly

There's a time and place for everything, The Spro BBZ is my most productive swimbait and catches the biggest fish out of the ones I have (TT, Sexy Swimmer, Majic Swimmer[2nd fav.], lucky craft real california along with a few others). I swear by it, you just have to fish it when your not catching much and you think you need something to trigger a reaction bite, when swimming it If you snap it and point your rod tip at it (to give it a little slack), it does a 180 and looks right at the fish, it drives them crazy.

Sorry I got off topic, the Mr. Lovely swimbaits look decent, nothing special and can be had for very cheap on ebay, like seyone said. I may buy one on there and try it out.
I'm getting really tired of all these Mickey Mouse "swimbaits".

you're such a swimbait snob, Jay. ;D
I just dont like seeing something that was underground and awesome being ruined, thats all.
Swimbaits are no longer cool, lol.
Its just like chopped Harleys, I was into them since I was 10, thanks a lot Orange County. ;D

I want to buy three that you recommend.
Seriously.

Price and size limits?
I don't care too much about price and don't have
a true swimbait rig. So, I need your advice on both.
I'm not sure this is for me, especially in this region.
But...What's almost perfect that's reasonably priced?
Let's say less than $1,000 all-in: Rod & reel
plus three lures.
8-)
oh man. this is gonna get expensive fast.
Jay, I'll bet you could recommend 3 baits that would eat up almost all of that price limit themselves, eh?

Thank you!
How 'bout a replacement suggestion
for the Mattlure's Bluegill. I don't fish
beds.
Matt sent me one which I "re-gifted" to
Wayne (SPEEDBEAD).

Well, I meant the Hardgill, preferably a sinker.
But as far as the soft gill being a bed bait, I have caught for more fish with it just casting than I have with it off of beds. Matter of fact, I have probably only got a few off of beds with it, although I use it often to get the fish excited, then throw a jig in right afterwards.
I am also a huge fan of the 3:16 Mission Fish. And I'm getting pretty sold on the Rising Son as well.
Then get his babybass...

Kent, I have all three of the lures (four if you count the Hardgill) mentioned and they will be coming with me on the Roadtrip. The Baby Bass Wake Jr actually came from Jay (full of mojo, I presume). ;D
I also think you could get bit in your waters on a Triple Trout, Hyper Herring or Bull Shad.

Here our old buddy doghouse with two over ten in the middle of winter. Fished like a jig on the bottom. My biggest almost 16 lbs hit one swimming it. My favorite bait for beds this year was the hard gill fishing it over beds. Even though I have caught more and bigger fish on Matt's soft gill the hard gill is my new favorite.

I was almost positive you were going to mention some of those expensive 3:16 lures. haha
They are the best hardbaits on the planet.
