Great variety of bass lures

I had never heard of the Dr. Fish company. I was looking for a large topwater chug-n-plug that had the color of our mullet that are the primary target of most of our inshore predators. I have not thrown this bait yet but will plan to later in the summer/early fall when the young of year mullet get to be big and this can "match the hatch", sizewise. Upon unboxing, the two hooks (which seem durable enough-apparently they are VMC hooks) were rubber banded together and the underside of the plug had some noticeable wear from where the hooks rubbed against the paint. This makes me wary whether or not it will stand up to a complete onslaught by a toothy fish...we will see...hopefully. The size is what I was looking for and the weight is quite heavy I think you could throw this thing a mile. It sounds like it has quite a few ball bearings for rattles and weight which I'm intrigues about Honestly, there is no real benefit to purchasing this over more popular brands (not much of a price difference), but the proof is in the pudding as they say. I will update if I have success.

First time using it, I caught a ton of fish. Great action in the water. I just ordered another one to have as a back-up.

It's pretty heavy and launches a good distance with a med 8 ft surf rod. The popping action is way better than a lot of poppers i have bought before. It's heavy but doesn't sink if you let it sit there like other poppers that have heavy weighted butts. Tie this onto a 25 -30 lb mono leader with a bucktail teaser dangling 1 feet above it and it looks incredible. The teaser walks the dog and sinks while the popper scoops out a big chunk of water chasing the teaser. I've caught fish on both the teaser and the popper.
