This is a great chatter bait head. It will keep your swim lure tight on the head even after catching few fish in a row.

This works, plain and simple. I'm an avid chatterbait angler for largemouth but decided to take my fishing to the next level by trying this out for inshore fishing. I landed my first trout, snook (28 inches), and my first over slot bull red on the Redbone, which I modified by adding some red nail polish to the solid chartreuse head.
The Redbone Diezel Minnow is also a heck of a paddletail. It's practically indestructible and will withstand all the abuse from puffers and pinfish. It's also the perfect color for Florida fishing since it looks like just about everything. I've tried every possible trailer imaginable (Gulp shrimp and mullets, green/white laminate Yamamoto Zakos, DOA shade, etc), and while they do catch fish, nothing comes close to the durability of the Minnow.
My only gripe is that anything other than a Zako trailer really fights the vibration of the blade and can make the chatterbait overbearing in some conditions. But when the fish are on that reaction bite in choppy or muddy waters, it sometimes doesn't matter what's on the business end of the chatterbait.
I originally put this on a 7'6" M/F Ugly Elite with a 3000 reel and 20lb Power Pro and a 40lb Seagur leader for really horsing the fish in at the passes, but now I have it on a 7'4" MH/Mod cranking rod on a 6.3:1 baitcaster with 30lb Power Pro and a 40lb leader and I couldn't be happier with the setup.
This is not a magic bait, however. Conditions determine the presentation and sometimes the fish just don't want a flashy, vibrating bait. But when the water is choppy and murky and there is a lot of current and some structure to fish, you'd better believe the first thing I'll toss is this chatterbait.
