Everything was going great and then it was over. Bags began to stick to the sealer bar and removing caused a hole in the bag. So, no sealing! Discovered that bags had melted at that spot and likely removed the protection with it. I was using the bags that came with the Sealer. Disappointing.

I was always skeptical of these types of sealers but I realized that I was losing a lot of food to freezer burn, even after properly closing bag that I needed to try something. I have tried this out on a few items now, including fish, filet mignon, shrimp and it does a fantastic job at making an airtight seal. It comes with about 10 vaccumm bags but you dont even need to buy a lot - you can just seal bags that food has already come in. Very impressed with how quickly it seals and sucks all the air out - the end result looks like a package that has been sealed by professional.

So, cooking for one sucks. It just does, and there's no way around it. When I make batches of anything, I'm always tired of it after the 2nd day, and out go the leftovers. A friend recommended I try this thing, and it is better than expected.
There are settings for Dry, Moist, Manual and Seal (only). There is a note in there about how "moist foods present a challenge for vacuum sealers", so I thought I'd throw a batch of spaghetti at it. First bag sealed fine, but didn't suck out air or moisture. That was user error, as I didn't have the bag pushed into the sealer far enough for it to do its thing. Second bag is in the picture - PERFECT. Took just a few drops of moisture out of the top of the bag where it needed to get the air out, vacuumed the rest just enough to not pulverize the whole thing...but make it just where you'd want it for a good freeze.
One cycle on Moist took 30-45 seconds...that's it. I am super happy with this thing because of how easy it was to use right out of the box. I'm also big into "waste not/want not"...so the fact that I can now properly save meal "overages" is a big deal. For $60, definitely would recommend to others!

Works like a charm. Makes anything waterproof. You can obviously use this to vacuum seal food products which will help them stay fresh longer but it's great for other uses too. I keep a vacuum sealed roll of toilet paper in my car. It smashes it down to almost nothing and fits in my glove box for emergencies (I have two toddlers so.......) Vacuum seal a spare set of clothes and socks for camping or canoeing. The last thing you want is to get stuck in wet clothes.
This unit gets the job done regardless of what you're sealing up. Attractive display. Comes with bags to get you started. Can vacuum seal canisters with the included attachment. Really a superb sealer for the price.
