Would you consider this to be a heavy duty heat sealer? ex. operates the same with heavy use, well built appliance, etc. How thick is the seal?

Answer: The device gets hot after sealing 40 -50 units. It is good for what it is but it's not what I call heavy duty.

Will it work in a highly dusty area?

I just recieved this item and it doesnt work..why? I was under the impression you plug it into an outlet and your good to start sealing?

Answer: You must have a defective one. It should work like a charm from the first seal. Send it back and get a new one

Answer: Yes, you plug it in, no warm-up time. It works only when the arm is depressed. Maybe yours is defective.

Answer: There is tape over the wire inside. Did you remove that? Otherwise, your assumption was basically correct

Can I use it to seal Mylar bags?

Answer: Yes

Will seal & cut?

Answer: It is a sealer. But if you leave the plastic on the element (bottom) it will melt it al the way throughout but not seal well.

Answer: It has no blade for cutting. However on the highest setting it will seal and you can test it away nicely.

I should have opened this the moment it arrived. I didn't & now I find out it doesn't work. It only heats up for a fraction of a second. Turn the dial to 8 seconds & it still only heats up for a fraction of a second. I can hear it click on, the light comes on & a split second later it clicks again, the light goes off & it's done nothing!

Recommended by another cookier and I was skeptical because I had purchased and hated five other impulse sealers. I had come to the conclusion that I was going to have to spend more than $90 for an “ok” one, but then I got this. Just $20 or so bucks and it’s wonderful! Lightweight and seals all my cookie bags so well! No melted seams or partial seals, just a nice bonded seal.

This is so easy to use! Unfortunately it won't work on what I intended to use it for, so I am a bit disappointed.
I bought it to use on polymesh and it will not seal it at any temperature setting.
Disappointed that I cannot use for intended purpose, but it seals bags wonderfully and fast!

So far this impulse sealer seems to be really easy to use. It’s perfect for my eBay and Amazon buisness, as I don’t have to use tape to seal my bubble rapped packages anymore! It’s aesthetically pleasing as well and light. It’s not like the other impulse sealers that are blue, metal, clunky, and ugly.

En el primer pedido llego pero no encendió, no generaba calor, llego dañado, y adicional se veía abierta la caja y que ya se había usado ese producto que me llego. (Me pregunto si Amazon no revisa los productos que le devuelven y los vuelve a vender?) Lo devolví y pedí otro, este nuevo pedido estaba por llegar y fue cancelado por amazon y nunca llego, por lo que funcionando en los dos pedidos no lo vi, ya no se si pedir por tercera vez. Mala experiencia.

I purchased this to seal 2 mil mylar. It could not do that. I would have to open and close 3 times in order to seal it, after it was heated up after a handful of uses. I had the settings all the way up too. The resultant seal is choppy because the filament used is a spun wire. Just not clean. So, back to Amazon it goes and I shall try another product.
